Chapter 22: Chapter 22 – I read all night.

By the next day, my clothes were clean. I was wearing long black pants and a good shirt that I had bought for a very affordable price.

I was getting ready to go out and do some shopping. Yesterday I hadn't bought many things to eat so I will buy enough for a few days. Unfortunately, I would have to bring everything on the bike.

"I'm leaving, Rias."

"Can't I go with you? I've always been curious about an American supermarket." Rias said with a smile. She wore long grey pants and a white shirt with a neckline.

"You're going to attract a lot of attention, so disguise yourself a little."

"All right, I'll do that right now," Rias ran to the second floor. After staying in her room for a few minutes, she came downstairs wearing a cap that hid her hair and a sweatshirt.

She couldn't hide her breasts and butt. There was nothing she could do about it.

"Okay, let's go. Since you're going with me, let's go on our feet." I opened the door, and Rias stepped out. And after I locked the door, something appeared floating in front of me. This is what I was expecting.

[ Main mission ]

[ Summon a new character. Preferably a character that has high combat power, but of course, it's optional. ]

'Since it's optional, I can summon anyone. But that worries me a bit, the system is telling me that something might happen, and I should summon a character who can fight.'

I think Rias can do something with her abilities, and I could also do something using her abilities... But what will I fight against in case something happens?

"Erick?"

"Ah, I'm sorry about that. I was thinking about some things."

"You looked worried."

"It's no big deal; let's go."

"Right." Rias and I started walking down the street toward the nearest market. Fortunately, the market is close to our new home, so we arrived in a few minutes.

'And about the mission, I think I will summon two characters this time. A pity I can only do that once a day.' I am apprehensive about the "warning" I got from the system.

"Rias, I'm going up to my room. Can you put things inside the closet? I'll be in my room for a few hours."

"Right~~" I climbed the stairs and entered my room. There, a box was in the corner of the room. It was the volumes of Fate that I had bought earlier. They arrived the same day I went to the realtor to sign the papers, but I hadn't opened the box yet.

As this was a manga with powerful characters, I decided to read some of it. Besides that, I also decided to read some other works I have in my storage.

After getting to know the history of some characters, I'll choose which one to summon.

"I just hope I don't have to read too much to find a character that interests me." I opened the box and put all 20 Fate/Stay Night volumes on the bed. It was on discount, but it was still costly.

And there are so many that I keep wondering if I'll be able to read them all.

"Okay, let's stock that."

I started holding one volume at a time, and they all started to be stored in the system. Now I have all 20 volumes available to read, but I'm not going to read the first one now.

"I'm going to read the manga called Dragon Ball first."

There isn't a person who doesn't know Dragon Ball. I have watched it a few times in my childhood, but I don't know much about it. I only know that the power levels become absurd after a while.

"And that's a good thing. I can summon a powerful character from this manga too. But will I be able to find a powerful character in volume 1?" Goku probably wasn't that powerful in the beginning.

Now I am in doubt. If I summon the character having read only volume 1, will they come with the power they gained during their evolution in the whole story?

[ The character will increase their power when you read the following volumes. ]

"So they will evolve according to what I am reading in the story. What an interesting and convenient system." All right, let's take that. I took volume 1 of Dragon Ball out of storage and threw myself on the bed.

I opened the first page and soon realized that it would be a long read. I only have ten volumes available. I might have to read all of them for some interesting character to appear or for a significant evolution to happen in the main characters.

"Hm?" Opening my eyes slowly, I saw the ceiling of my new home and looked to the side where Rias was lying. She had taken my blanket, not that it mattered.

It was a little chilly because of the air conditioning, but it did not bother me.

'Last night, I spent most of the night reading but ended up sleeping before I could finish volume 4. It was probably three o'clock in the morning by the time I went to sleep. '

After going to the bathroom and washing my face, I returned to the bedroom and looked at the bed. Rias was again wearing only her lingerie. She had left her clothes beside the bed.

She likes to do that, doesn't she?

"Well, I'll let her get some sleep." I closed the bedroom door and went downstairs to prepare our breakfast. This will be the first time I have used our new kitchen. The last few times, Rias had prepared our food.

After a long time, I managed to use a good-quality stove.

I prepared breakfast quickly and ran to the second floor to call for Rias. I woke her up and then went downstairs to wait for her. I had already put everything on the dining room table.

I had prepared toast, scrambled eggs, some tea, and coffee in a coffee pot I had in the house. I had not seen it before, but it is excellent. The only problem is that I will have to buy capsules to prepare the coffee, which is probably expensive.

"Good morning," I said after Rias arrived in the dining room.

"Good morning."

"I'm going out again today. I must sort out a few last things before handing over my old house to its owner. I haven't asked someone to pick up our beds yet."

"I see. Will it take long?"

"No. I'll make it quick as I have another thing to do today." I was going to continue reading manga to summon a new character today.
