Chapter 6: Chapter Six – The Search Begins

“So how did you end up working for Lady Otrea?” I asked leaping over a small outcropping of rocks.

“Lady Otrea found me after I’d been beaten nearly to death and left to die. She spent a great deal of time and resources to nurse me back to health. She asked nothing in return, but I refused to leave her side. I swore fealty to her the first chance I got. The rest is history.”

“Why would someone want to hurt you?”

“Succession rights. I was chosen to succeed our mother’s territory and my elder sister believed she was the better choice.” Harriette winced a bit as she spoke before pointing towards a small bush. “Use [Analyze] on that one.”

“Yes, Ma’am.”
