The human's body withered before my eyes and was consumed in an instant.
Evilyn: [Because the host ate a human this time, the host will receive a new benefit...waiting to update the system.]
A new benefit? System update?
Evilyn: [Update complete! The host can now receive quests from the system! First Quest has been unlocked.]
What's this? I noticed a blue screen hovering in front of me.
Quest: Evolution: Third Stage
The host's next transformation is around the corner, but there's still a long way to go!
Tasks:
Rewards:
Penalty:
If I don't complete the quest, I have to worry about going down a level!?
I'm only level two, and I'll be back to level 1 if I don't complete the tasks, but I don't want that!
It should be easy for me to eat fifty living beings. I'll eat monsters that are easy for me to capture.
Those who survived headed to the village while Bolivia and I visited the bat cave.
There was something I needed to do before going back to the village.
I entered the cave and told Bolivia to wait outside.
The other bats were in the same position from before I left.
I ignored them and went deeper into the cave to find the dead spider I left uneaten.
I should have known that I would be out of luck since the corpse was nowhere in sight.
I flew back out of the cave and met up with Bolivia.
"Let's go home," I told her.
We flew back to the Orc Village to join the others.
Meanwhile, in Eastern Gatin
"What is the meaning of this?! Why haven't the soldiers returned?" Eastern Gatin's Lord, Alin De Folk, yells.
A man bowed down before his lord with an expression of uneasiness, "it seems that the men My Lord sent out have all died," he answered.
Lord Alin clenched his fist and gritted his teeth, "it must be those damn Northerners! Those rat bastards dare fight with me!"

Lord Alin went through hell to gather the resources he needed to raid a newly formed dungeon that appeared in the forest.
It looks like those damned Federban people are getting in his way again!
He sent mages and soldiers in the Forest of Monsters to find that dungeon, and if those Northerners figure it out, then it's bound to bite him in the ass.
Shit!
Should he send men to the North? No. If he does that, he'll lose the unnecessary manpower needed to raid the dungeon.
"My Lord!" He noticed one of his soldiers carrying in an injured man.
The man was holding his side and looked determined, "how dare those Northern bastards!" Lord Alin yells.
The man looked up at him, "it wasn't a Northerner," he declared.
"Not a Northerner? Impossible! Only a Northerner bastard has the gall to mess with Easterners!" Lord Alin says with a frown.
The soldier looked suspiciously nervous, "what about elves, My Lord?" The soldier asked.
Lord Alin stared at him with a furious gaze, "are you implying that the elves attacked you out of nowhere?" He asked.
The soldier looked to be sweating, but he dared not admit that the soldiers were the ones who attacked first.
"I assure you that it's the truth, My Lord!" He refuses to get punished for his men's large libidos!
"My Lord, the elves may be guarding something," another soldier states.
Lord Alin ponders this information. If it were the doing of elves, this makes things a whole lot easier.
"How many are we talking about?" Lord Alin asks.
The injured soldier panics and says the only number that pops into his head. "There were at least a hundred elves." He lies.
"Then we will send two hundred men," Lord Alin waves his hand.
Those elves will learn what happens to those who step out of their comfort zones.
The injured soldier bit his lip but kept from speaking.
Lord Alin said nothing and could tell the soldier was keeping something from him. He'll deal with it after this.
Forest of Monsters
While I was heading out, the injured elves were already getting healed by Bolivia.
"Make sure you're careful, Mistress. Who knows how many humans entered this forest." Bolivia warns.
I nod and waved on my way out of the hut.
I decided that it was a better experience to walk instead of flying so I entered through the trees on foot.
My first task in completing my quest will be hard.
I can't eat any monster to level up because it'll have to be something with a higher level than mine.
Right now, my level is only at two, I have to raise it to level ten and also kill and eat fifty monsters.
All of this will take some time, and I won't be able to go back to the village until I finished.
It wasn't long before I came across a pack of strange pigs that were bigger than the average human.
They were perfect for my advance to the third stage.
It was time to hunt.
