Willing the cube to be absorb it takes a few minutes to get it all. With that done I start absorbing magic like crazy. Un surprisely KAER MEHEN was built on a natural mana source, probably cause mages helped build the witcher order. Using that I was able to start fixing everything in my domain. Yup that's the plan, make sure the witchers dont see me as a threat but as an intelligent creature. One can be helpful and useful to them.

Now some are saying your a dungeon core just absorb beneath you and eventually you can negotiate on equal terms. And I could but why do that when I can just begin on good terms with the witchers and even get help from them. Not to mention that I loved these people in the games and Netflix series.( never read the books because by the time I knew it was a book series I ruined it for myself with the games)

So doing something as easy for me as breathing is easy for some help and safety I'd get from the school. Seriously repairing and maintaining the castle will be easy for me, plus with being able grow plants faster can help with their alchemy making. That stuff alone would be more than worth it for them to keep me safe. Of course now I have to some how explain what I want to an old man that might be quick to kill.

Now I'm not fixing much just the outer appearance of the stone walls and floors. That along with absorbing some ink and paper I should be able to prove I'm alive and intelligent. So putting the paper right next to my core and writing a little explanation of what I could do what i want. Let's just hope he is in a good mood.

VESEMIR P.O.V.

Returning to my room for clean clothes after training, I notice immediately that something is different. My door is cleaner and a closer look tells me so are the hinges and handle. Pulling my knife out I stalk forward opening the door. Scanning the room I see everything looks newer than this morning, the cobbstone is shiny and smooth like it was just laid there.

But that's not all, the dimeritium cube is gone. With the stone laying out next to a piece of paper. Walking over cautiously I take a second look at the stone before moving my eyes to the paper. 

Hello master witcher, this is the obsidian like stone next to the paper. Now before you start thinking of destroying me please know that I am sentient being and have no I'll will towards anyone. Now for what I am, a dungeon core. As for why I'm not leaving, is that I want to make a deal. In exchange for protection and permanent residence in this castle I will help repair and maintain the castle aswell as help with many other things that I am capable of. Just say aloud what your answer or questions are and I will respond on this paper.

Looking at the paper I start to think that it's a prank that Leo did. But looking at the walls and floor and see them perfectly new looking, it just couldn't be. So going over the note again I start to think if I've ever heard of a dungeon core. Then I start thinking of what to do and to stall for time I ask it questions.

"What is a dungeon core,why do you want our protection and  to permanently stay here?" 

As the last words leave my mouth the ink on the page rearranges itself in to different words.

A dungeon core is crystallized sentient magic, usually picked to carry out a task. Some of those known being to raise the threat level of lesser beings or to purge greedy individuals in a species society by lurin GB them in with riches. My own goal being to calm the chaotic magic in this realm. As for the protection part, it's mostly because building up my defenses and resources takes time. And the last reason is this castle has what is known as leylines. Where the magic cycles through almost like a ecosystem. Making my dungeon here will mean help with my task more than somewhere else.

"You said you were picked, who picked you and why do they want the magic to calm down?" 

The gods of another world want this one increase in power. They know that many evil beings want to come here to prey on your relatively weak civilization. By blowing the chaos of magic it makes it so mages can't do weird or strange spells but makes the simple or fact based spells more powerful. Along with that it will mean mages altogether, the gods think will bring innovation to magic users here.

Thinking on what I read I start to wonder if this core thing is lying. Though if it isn't then these other worldly gods think that a lot of evil will come here. Though still suspicious I keep asking it questions on stuff that might be important. 

"What evils, and you said you can do other stuff, so what is your abilities."

Well one the more known evils is the white frost. A magic winter that spreads from world to world freezing them solid. Though that is not as concerning right now as the multiple demigod like figures that roam this world right now. Many who will know if I 'say' their names. Each one looking to increase the already vast power they have.

As for my skills most are focused on creation. Like absorbing nonliving matter and rearranging it to make something else. That along with control of magic in a way mages would envy, allows me to help plants grow, keep bugs and pest from areas I designated and knowledge that helps me make various enchanted items that are useful beyond belief.

Yes, for protection and residence I will repair and maintain the castle as well as solve the little problems like preserving perishables and keeping small pest away. Though giving other more active help than that will cost resources that I will. Mostly ores and plants that I can not find here after reaching a large dungeon.

"Then I will accept this deal temporarily if you are telling the truth then we will keep our side of it. So what do need right now?"

Nothing much, just to be put at the lowest point in the castle that is relatively in the center. Better to start fixing the foundations first and all that. Though if you have any spare resources, making a pile and saying put loud that I can have it would be helpful.

Nodding my head I take the core to a room in the basement. As I walk up to Leo, I start thinking of what the wolf school witchers home would look like when it was done.
