Chapter 6: A Compromise

I hear a cutting sound and next, light. It has been so long since I saw light. Sarah was in her doctor's suit with a mask.

"Found you~," She said with a playful sound.

I curled myself up and suddenly launched at her. "What?" I barely made it! I landed on her scalpel and I slithered on her hand. Sorry, Sarah, but you left me no choice. I took a deep breath and used 'infection'.

Now, I'm under her skin, so she can't injure me or capture me in any way... Unless she cut her arm with her scalpel right now, but I doubt she's brave enough for that. Although she tried to hit me with her hands, it can't kill me. Nice try Sarah!

(Sarah's side)

I suddenly blacked out. I'm I dead? I thought. I can't believe that I saw such a creature in my life. I guess it's worth living. What will happen to me next?

Suddenly, my vision came back to me. I fell on the floor.

"Owww. What happened? Oh! Yes! The parasite! Where is it? It's in my head?"

"Hello, Sarah."

I suddenly heard a male voice in my head. It shocked me.

No! it can't be. Parasites can't talk to humans. I can't believe it! It's impossible. After a little bit of talking, we made a compromise. I'll keep it a secret, so he can avoid being studied and it will let me live. Next, it told me to finish the work. I didn't understand at first but seeing the cow being dissected by me, I understood.

I closed the opening of my stomach for 30 minutes and went back home. I'm still shaken by today's event. At home, we chatted a little bit and I became hungry. Although shaken and frightened, still hungry.

"Are you hungry?" I asked the parasite.

"Not really, I just ate." He replied.

What? It just ate? What did it eat? My brain?

"What did you eat?" I asked.

"Oh, you want to know?"

I prepared myself for the worst.

"Yes," I answered.

"I can't call this eating, but I drank your blood. It's pretty nutritious. You must be eating well!"

What? How much did it drink? Is it because of blood loss that my brain is malfunctioning?

"How much did you drink?"

"Hmm. Maybe 1 to 2 milliliters."

That's not much. Maybe he's just bluffing.

"Really? I thought you will take more."

"Think with your head. I'm not even a centimeter long. How much do you want me to drink?"

Oh yes, I saw it when I dissected the cow. It jumped on my hand. I still don't like the idea of a parasite living in me, but I have no choice. Maybe my immune system will kill it. It will be the best for me.
