"I'll be there, flower." He let out a satisfied smile. "I can't wait."
"Great. Because we should get going as soon as possible." She stood and kept the stationery in its place.
"Okay. Wait. Where are we going?" He was confused, his mind still filled with her letter.
"To the human realm, to tell my parents about our engagement. Have you forgotten all about it?" She waved her fingers near his eyes as if to wake him up.
He grabbed her hand and gave her a hard tug so she bumped against his chest. "You did it on purpose."
Her laughter proved that he was right. How could she write him such a letter when they were going to meet his in-laws in just a few minutes? Would he be able to do anything aside from think about her?
He hissed and pulled her hand. "You will not get away with his, flower."
She gently pulled her hand back with a wink. "I wasn't planning to get away."
Seeing his eyes darken with want, she swiftly made a beeline for the door. "I made some gifts for my family. I have to pack them. See you in a few minutes."
Then she was gone like a puff of air.
…
When they teleported to the human realm, they ended up at Monten even though she had pictured Efinchil.
"Why are we here?" She wondered aloud. She didn't think it was safe for both of them to be here after the earthquake that had happened as a result of her presence the last time. They were atop one of the mountains.
She would have used the chance to appreciate the scenery but she was certain that she should leave as soon as possible.
"We were not summoned." He observed. "It doesn't seem to be King Rian's trap either so no matter what it is, we are safe."
"Okay." His analogy was odd but it was all they could go by at the moment. Maybe it was accidental.
"Maybe it was fate." He looked around.
"Maybe." She looked around for a clue.
"Your claws!" She exclaimed and pointed at his hand when she saw them suddenly start to show.
"It's a call to one of my demon duties." He paused when he realized what duty it was. "You don't want to know about it."
"Actually, I do." She was curious. Was the duty the one that made them come here?
"It involves a wandering ghost." He revealed, and she shuddered.
"Yeah, you are right. I don't need to know it."
He chuckled. Since she was scared of ghosts, he didn't ask her to follow him. "Will you wait for me? It's not going to take long."
She nodded and found something to do as he left. She made a temporary cave and placed in the gifts she had carried then looked around. She found a tree with assorted edible wild fruits and plucked them, arranging them in a stone tray that she made using her powers. She had made the perfect color combination when he returned.
"Are you done?" That was fast.
She turned around and smiled at him. He was in his demon form and looked surprised.
"Did something happen?"
He leaned against a tree after retracting his wings. "It turned out to be the ghost of someone you know."
"Someone I know?" She frowned as her voice lowered in confusion.
He nodded. "Would you like to meet her? She wanted to have a word with you."
It was a female ghost.
Her heart was suddenly filled with excitement. Was it Vivian?
"Yes!" She grabbed his hand and he had to retract his claws to prevent them from hurting her hand. He held her waist and flew towards the village cemetery so they arrived faster.
When they landed, she expected Vivian's ghost to rush towards her but when she saw it clearly, her eyes watered. "Grandmother?"
"Jasmine!" The ghost ran towards her excitedly but didn't hug her.
Jasmine had expected it but she still felt disappointed. It was already wrong of her to meet a ghost since she was not a demoness. Hugging her would be much worse.
Dairon saw their stiff interaction and pushed them to each other.

"That's a dumb rule made by Ulke."
"Will he punish you?" She asked worriedly.
"He won't. My purpose of existence is to go against Ulke." He made it sound like he was proud of it, and both Jasmine and Celeste laughed.
Celeste cupped her face. "You have grown so beautiful."
"So have you, grandmother." She was still in disbelief. Celeste no longer looked like an elderly lady. She was now a young woman and she looked a lot like Sophie.
She finally understood why they had arrived at a place they had not intended to teleport to. They had forgotten all about paying Celeste a visit.
"Grandmother, so many things have happened." She informed her.
"I know. I heard it all when you paid me a visit last time." Celeste kissed her forehead.
"Really? I was afraid you wouldn't have heard it." She was relieved. Her eyes stung as she hugged her grandmother again. "Grandmother, I found my mate." She pulled Dairon over to introduce him.
"About that." Celeste scanned the demon before her with interest. "I heard what you said the last so I knew that if I had to meet you, I would need to summon Lord Dairon because I can't summon you yet. Why is it that when I summoned Lord Dairon who is clearly a demigod, a demon showed up?" She expressed her confusion.
Jasmine glanced at Dairon to seek permission and when he nodded, she explained the situation briefly. "He is half demon."
They couldn't take too long because of the effects her presence could cause so Dairon reluctantly separated them.
They hugged a last time and bid farewell.
"Celeste will be sent for reincarnation soon. Her new name will be Erin." He explained.
Jasmine felt bittersweet. It was a shame that she would not be able to see her grandmother anymore but she deserved to be given a second chance to live.
"Goodbye grandmother." She kissed her a last time before Dairon sent her off.
"When will she come back? Will we know each other? Will she born like normal babies?" She had a gazillion questions as soon as Celeste's ghost disappeared.
He understood how anxious she was so he answered all her questions.
"She will come back in two human realm years. Yes, she will be born like a normal baby. About knowing each other, that's not a guarantee but you will recognize her if you ever bump into each other."
She looked worried so he wrapped an arm around her. "Don't worry. I chose her a family that will love her and take perfect care of her."
"Thank you." She kissed his cheek. "I got you some fruits. Let's get them. We should leave soon."
He held her waist and flew back to the top of the mountain. They gathered more fruits to share with her family and they were done, they teleported to her parents' backyard.
"Jas, you are home!" Sophie, who was watering flowers, placed down the watering jar and rushed to her, enveloping her in a hug. She wrapped her arms around her tightly but when she saw Dairon behind her, she looked a little scared. She pretended that everything was alright and hugged him too.
Even so, he knew that something must have happened.
"I'll help you with that in a minute." She pointed at the flowers. "I'll say hi to Dahlia first."
Before she could take a step, Dairon grabbed the task and did it in two seconds by spraying just the right amount of water to all the plants that needed to be watered. He did it all at the same time.
Jasmine smiled at his efforts. He really was going all out to please his in-laws. At least Sophie looked pleased despite whatever else she was feeling since Dairon arrived. Was it fear? There was only one way to find out.
Dahlia couldn't keep in her excitement when she saw her sister but just like Sophie, she suddenly looked terrified of Dairon.
It would be a coincidence if it was just the two of them but when Harry had the same reaction, she exchanged glances with him.
He took out a necklace he had bought for Dahlia and showed it to the girl who was clinging to her sister. "Do you like jewelry?"
"I don't." She bit out, even though she was wearing an anklet and her bracelet was visible through the sleeves of her dress that had not covered it completely.
He was certain that someone must have told them something scary about him. Had they learnt that he was a demon.
Jasmine pulled Sophie to the kitchen to make a salad with the fruits they had brought and while they were alone, she gently asked, "Is something wrong?"
"You have to stay away from him!" Sophie warned in a hushed tone.
"Why?" She was taken aback.
"He is not a demigod. He is a dangerous creature." Sophie didn't clarify. "Believe me. His brother told us."
She frowned. "Dairon doesn't have a brother."
