"What did you say?" Harry was shocked stiff by the statement his wife had just said.

Sophie pulled away from him with a sniffle. "What I mean is, we cannot change the course of fate. Even if she didn't go on the cruise or if she didn't go diving, perhaps they would have met under different circumstances."

"You're probably right." Her words made a lot of sense, but that didn't make Harry feel any better. When he thought back to how helplessly Jasmine had hugged him when she returned, his heart sunk. His daughter must have disliked the place where she had been. Although she claimed to have made some human friends, who knew whether she was saying that merely to make them less worried? What if in a real sense, she was suffering on the island but didn't have anyone to cry to? What if the gods were bullying her and she had to endure it because they were too powerful for her to retaliate? "No. I have to bring my daughter back." He declared resolutely. "There has to be a way."

Tired of Dairon's incessant orders, Jasmine shoved dinner at him and decided to go out for a walk. Why was taking care of a demigod so difficult? Or rather, it would have been easy but he was deliberately trying to upset her at every turn.

The soft breeze blew gently at her face, bringing with it a cooling effect that was almost magical. In an instant, she forgot all about Dairon's annoyance. She looked around with almost every step she took. Before she realized it, she was quite far from the mansion. She had not walked this far before, so she had never seen how beautiful it looked at night.

The path she was walking on was covered in plants on both sides, with different kinds of flowers—most of which she had never seen before. Her interest was piqued by a large, beautiful flower that looked like it was in full bloom. It's petals were red with golden edges. Even though the moonlight was not bright enough to see everything clearly, the flower was so attractive that she reached to touch it with the tips of her fingers.

"That's called a Jameela."

The sudden voice made her freeze in her spot before she turned to see Bardumond standing behind her.

"Look what the wind blew out." She was annoyed.

Bardumond did not expect such a hostile response from her but he laughed. "I'm pretty sure I walked here myself. The wind doesn't have enough strength to blow me in or out."

She glared at him and continued with her walk, not bothering him.

"Are you mad at me?" He asked as he followed her, keeping a few steps distance between them. "I'm sorry. At the time, I had no choice but to erase your memory. I believed that was the only way to save Dairon." He explained himself. He didn't want to make an enemy out of such a kind woman as Jasmine.

She paused in her steps, shooting him a glance over her shoulder." I don't even care, you know. And I still have my memory intact so you did nothing to help me."

He was ready to leave after clearing the air with her, but her statement caught him off guard. "Help you… by making you forget everything?"

His words only annoyed her further. Didn't he know how much she wanted to forget all about this island and its inhabitants? She wanted to be peaceful! She crossed her arms in contempt. "One pretends to know everything while the other acts like he knows nothing. How ironic gods are." She was already in a bad mood after spending a whole torturous day with Dairon—and she took it out on Bardumond even though she didn't intend to. "You are such a waste of space. Do you know what's the most infuriating part?"

"What?" Bardumond listened patiently.

"That you are gods. It would be better if you were humans because then you would die after a few decades. But nope. You just had to be gods. You will continue wasting space for several more centuries." She rattled it all out.

He smiled when she finished ranting. Did she feel a little better now after letting it out?

"If you are so angry, I can make it up to you. Let me join you for your walk, okay? The island is vast, after all. You may need help getting back." He suggested. "Coincidentally, I'm out to pick some healing herbs for Dairon. We can go back to his mansion together."

It was only then that she took note of the basket in his hands, containing all sorts of leaves and flowers. She frowned when she saw petals similar to the flower she had seen a moment ago, the one he had said was called a Jameela.

"Jameela?" She asked purely out of curiosity.

With a smile, he took the stalk out of his basket. "It's a beautiful name for a beautiful flower, right? It was named after a goddess of beauty. And its effects are just as beautiful—it can heal even the most ghastly scar as long as it is well prepared."

A flower that could heal scars? She was about to call him out for bluffing when she remembered just what his element was.

"Dairon has a scar?" She asked, recalling that he said the herbs were for Dairon.

"Don't worry. It's just that some of the burn marks haven't completely faded after healing." He reassured her, but she didn't think Dairon's skin should make her worried for any reason. Still, she nodded.

Seeing that she was no longer ignoring him as much, he took the chance. "So, shall we go for a walk?"

She looked up at him and turned around to head in the opposite direction. "No thank you. I know my way back. Now if you'll excuse me, I have some other fish to fry."

He laughed at how fast her mood changed. Was this a thing with humans? It was quite funny. It was only when her back disappeared among the flowers that he widened his eyes in realization. What did she just say?

For a moment, he felt as though he had been struck before he recalled her exact words.

"Oh… she said she has other fish to fry.." He laughed dryly as he turned to continue picking herbs.
