She drew the curtains apart and looked outside in awe. "The sea is so beautiful. It's much more beautiful than it appears from the tops of towers and the cruise. If that makes sense."

"It does." People seemed to believe that towers gave the best view of the sea but he couldn't agree. Or maybe, he was just strongly attached to his room and couldn't think of a better place to watch the waves and play with them.

She watched the slight waves stretch to the shore and draw back, her eyes zeroing in on them. She finally spoke when a small wave hit the shore. "I don't know if I'm hallucinating but there is a strange feeling in this part of the sea."

"Oh? What kind of strange feeling?" He stood behind her to tease her. "Are you scared that you will drown despite being far from the water?"

She glared at him for making fun of her. "I'm not sure. Nostalgia?" She found it strange that she would even make such a guess. What were the odds?

His eyes darkened slightly. He was not entirely surprised that she would feel that way but he was still caught off guard. Was it because she had part of his soul that she had started having certain emotions at the same time as he had them? He wondered how she would react once she found out the truth.

Tearing her eyes away from the sea, she checked out his room and giggled at some of his childhood possessions that she found amusing. She found a wooden toy sword and pointed it at him. "Who are you and how dare you invade my territory?"

"You don't need to know me." He played along, finding another wooden sword and a shield that was now way too small for him.

"Are you a friend or a foe?" Her eyes narrowed dramatically.

"That depends on what you want me to be. If you want, I can be your husband too." He smiled.

She burst into laughter. "Did you play with swords often?"

"Not exactly." He brushed it off. It would be awkward to tell her that he would often pretend that his hands were opponents and make them 'fight' each other.

"I showed you my room. Are you going to return the favor?" He asked as he returned the wooden sword and shield to their place.

"What are you talking about?" She straightened up. Her eyes met his and she understood what he meant. "Nope. No way."

"I'll just take a look. Are you scared that you will not be able to control yourself, being with me in your room?" He taunted.

"Yes. What if my hand accidentally slips and I end up stabbing you to death?" She waved the toy sword at him in warning.

He chuckled at her way of evading it. That was not what he had in mind but he knew when to stop. He showed her to the other rooms then led her outside. Unlike his old home, all the other houses around were either broken or looked like they would shatter at the slightest rumble of thunder.

"Doesn't anyone live around here?" She asked.

"They think this part of the town is haunted. Rumor has it that one of the inhabitants of my home suddenly gained unknown powers before disappearing into the sea. All the neighbours moved away and fled for their lives." They burst into laughter. It must have been entertaining.

"Since no one lives around here, come, let's go and play in the sea." She urged him and ran ahead. She was a few steps ahead when she remembered that they didn't have any swim attire with them.

When he suggested that they swim naked, she ignored him with a red face and had him take her to the nearest marketplace. They were lucky to get the remaining pairs after searching the stalls for a while. His was a pair of swim trunks which he didn't seem to have trouble wearing.

She, on the other hand, wanted to hide in the sand when she realized that her swim shorts were much shorter than she expected, and the top left her midriff exposed. She let her hair cover her back. Luckily, he was behind her.

"Get in the water, you chicken. Are you scared?" She stopped walking so he would go first.

"Scared? I'm thrilled!" He ran into the water and grabbed a handful to splash onto her. She shrieked and grabbed two handfuls of sand to throw at him. He countered by dumping what felt like a whole bucket of water on her.

Her clothes and hair were soaked. One of her arms flew to her chest while the other attempted to cover her midriff but didn't do much to prevent him from seeing what he had already seen.

He laughed at her. "Okay. I'll dry your clothes. But how will you swim if you are afraid of letting your clothes get wet?" He asked in amusement.

She glowered at him. It was different if she was inside the water. Once he had drained all the water off her clothes, she threw sand onto his chest and warned, "You can't use your powers."

"Okay." It was fair that way but the fairness didn't last long.

She was drenched in a few minutes and slid when she tried to counterattack. He threw his head back laughing at her plight until he was covered in enough sand to build several sand castles.

"I didn't know you could do that." He pulled out of the sand as she laughed at him. She ran away when he suddenly bolted in her direction. Using water to make her slide and slow down, he caught up in just a few steps and got back at her by soaking her through and through.

Too tired to move, she just lay in the sand and laughed her heart out. He lay beside her and caught his breath. By the time she got up, her hair was a mess. She had water and sand in places there shouldn't be any. She smoothed down her hair and was still wondering what to do about the sand when the shameless demigod beside her took off his trunks.

"What are you doing?!" Her eyes widened.

"Getting rid of the sand." He looked serious justifying his actions and she had to shut her eyes tightly.

"I'm done." He announced a few breaths later. She opened her eyes cautiously and peaked between her fingers to verify the credibility of his words. When she was certain that he was now covering what needed to be covered, she fully opened her eyes.

"Do you still want to play?" He asked.

She responded by glancing at him and made a beeline for the water, running in until the water was up her navel.

"I'll take that as a yes." He ran in after her, lifting her up in the air just as she was about to swim away.

Grabbing a floating log from nearby, he threw it farther into the water and readied himself for a race. "Last one to get to the log is the slave."

Her eyes narrowed. Who would go to a swimming competition with a water deity? Did he think she was out of her mind?

"Sneaky demigod." She snickered, wishing something blocked his path. A series of rocks landed about a meter away from him, making him stop abruptly.

"Hey, that gives me an idea." Her eyes lit up. She made rocks surround a section of the water and clapped her hands joyously.

"Don't tire yourself out." He smiled dotingly as he watched her make the walls higher. This trip was beneficial, after all. Her earth power was growing.

She rejoiced when the walls were as high as she wanted. "Isn't this fun? Even if anyone were to walk by because they are not afraid of getting haunted, no one will see us."

"Yes." For safety, he tried to push the walls to test their sturdiness. When he was convinced that they wouldn't come crumbling down unexpectedly, he approved of the idea. "It looks like a private pool."

She splashed around and called for a race. "Last one to get to the other end has to wear a dress!" She deliberately made the rule so it would be embarrassing for him to lose, but she would have nothing to lose even if he reached the other end faster. Halfway through, she realized that he had not moved an inch. She swam back to him worriedly.

"Dairon?" She inched closer to check if he was alright.

His arm grabbed her waist and her lips were covered by his before she could yelp in shock. Pressed up against his bare chest, she didn't know where to place her hands as he caressed her back. He kissed her intensely as his hands moved below her waist but just when she was starting to feel dizzy, he slowed down.
