She pushed against his chest as his tongue explored hers. He paused and broke the kiss, looking into her eyes.
"We should not be doing this here." She turned to face away from him and held onto the wall beside her for support.
He caught a lock of her hair between his fingers. "Does that mean we can do it somewhere else? My room, perhaps?"
"You know what I mean."
He took in her flushed face when he moved beside her. She was even more beautiful this way.
"Yes I do. I know what you mean." He sighed because he knew what she was implying—that they shouldn't be doing things that only happen between couples. "But what's wrong with doing what we both want, flower?" He played with her soaked hair.
She evaded his touch when his fingers grazed her skin. "When you are angry, you want to yell and curse or kill someone. But that doesn't make any of those things right."
What a nice way to skirt around the matter. He had to give her that, but he contemplated her words. Was she indirectly admitting that she wanted to kiss him and just couldn't do it because it was wrong? Was she attracted to him?
"These walls weren't such a great idea after all." She remarked. He couldn't argue with that. He wanted to embrace and kiss her every time he saw her but being in a confined space with her was a deadly catalyst. She undid the walls and watched the rocks disappear until the sea retained its original form.
"Where did they go?" She asked, a hint of longing in her voice. This must be crazy. Why was she missing non-living things?
"Don't worry. They aren't destroyed. They just returned to wherever they were before you brought them." He walked towards the shore.
She followed him out and sat in the sand an arm's length from him and started moulding in the sand. Before she knew it, she had built a sand castle.
He watched her and brought tools to build his own to compete with her.
She chortled when she saw what he was doing. "My castle is big enough to live in." She exaggerated.
"Mine too." His nose was practically in the air.
She glanced at his structure that could barely be called anything but heaps of sand. "Please. That ugly structure can't even accommodate Dahlia's dolls. Not that she would let them near it." She burst into laughter.
He merely grinned and made another attempt at building a castle, but his sand crumbled. He was starting to think she was doing something to it.
She observed his movements that were quiet as he concentrated on the sand castle. They were sitting close to each other but something seemed to have changed. Awkwardness lingered in the air as well as what felt almost like heartbreak.
She looked up at him. "Dairon, it's not that I hate you. It's just…"
"You don't need to explain." His castle crumbled when he accidentally hit it.
"I still want to." She insisted even though he didn't want to hear it. "I've never given enough thought to marriages and relationships. I don't want to jump into one just because you kissed me."
He let out the breath he had been holding. That wasn't nearly as bad as what he thought she was going to say. He thought this would be the end for them, that she would force a distance between them.
He smiled at her. "It's okay. We'll take it slow. I admit I was impatient and rushed."
She thought that things would be stiff between them after what she said, and she was glad that he didn't take it the wrong way.
He stared at her exposed midriff and pointed at it. "If we are going to take it slow, you better refrain from wearing that kind of clothes around me."
She grabbed one of his Buckets to place against her stomach as she laughed. "Deal."

They would have to go back in a few hours so they freshened up and changed back to their clothes before going to her home.
"Jasmine's home!" Dahlia announced cheerfully when she saw them. She threw aside the book and pencil in her hands and threw herself into her sister's arms.
"I missed you so much." Jasmine kissed her cheek and enveloped her in a long hug. "Did I just see you dump your homework?"
She scratched her head. "I'll get back to it." She then looked at Dairon who was a step behind her sister. "Hey Dairon."
"Thanks for your guidance last time. I gave your sister a pet snake." He smirked, making it obvious that he had not forgotten about it.

She blushed and was relieved when Sophie came to meet them.
"My dear, you chose the perfect day to come. I was preparing to bake a cake." Sophie didn't hug her because she had flour all over her clothes, which had spilled when she heard Dahlia's sudden excited shriek.
"Lord Dairon, please come in." Sophie looked more spooked than pleased by Dairon's presence but she could only welcome him. She asked them to sit in the living room with Harry as they waited for the cake.
Dahlia stuck to her sister's side to complain. "I'm glad you came! Jude insinuated that my sister got married and mocked me about it all afternoon." She sulked.
"Jude?" Jasmine raised a brow at the name.
"The boy who sits behind me in class. He is always making fun of me." She complained.
Jasmine chuckled and sent a meaningful look at Harry who was basking in happiness. "Papa, I think you will soon start having to throw young boys out through the window."
He was too happy about Jasmine's arrival to hear what Dahlia was going on about. When he understood Jasmine's words, his eyes darkened. "Young ones are becoming more and more brazen."
"Calm down, papa." Jasmine laughed. She was only teasing him and didn't expect him to look like he wanted to murder someone's son. "He is not even a teenager yet. He still has milk on his tongue."
"Then he should swallow it down before he thinks of teasing my daughter." Harry looked like he was ready to bring an axe.
She found it cute. Dahlia's suitors wouldn't have it easy once she was old enough. Though it made her wonder why Dairon wasn't getting thrown out yet. Was it because he had already accepted her case?
She felt the atmosphere tense up and followed his gaze to Dairon who was sitting beside her. Okay. He did harbor hostility towards Dairon. It was only unfortunate that he couldn't do anything about it since Dairon was an immortal. They looked like they were silently fighting an eye battle.
"This time, I came to visit Nana. We don't have too much time as we should go back before sunset." She spoke to ease the tension a bit.
"That sucks. You only just arrived and are thinking of leaving." Dahlia clung to her.
"I'll have a word with Nana and be back. We can then play until sunset." She coaxed her.
"Just play?"
"And read a book."
"Deal."
After informing her mother, they left for Vivian's house which was several houses away.
She took a deep breath when they reached the door. How would her grandmother react? She couldn't possibly like her anymore, right? She was nervous but she had been postponing her visit for too long. She didn't know when she would come again so she knocked nervously.
After a few knocks, there was finally an unfriendly voice from the inside. "Who is it?"
"It's me. Jasmine. Can I come in?" She asked. The door squeaked open after a few breaths. Unlike every time they saw each other, the elderly lady did not hug her. It was just as expected. She blamed her for what happened.
"Let me make you a cup of tea." She offered after letting them in.
"You don't have to. Mother is already cooking. We'll just have some water." She turned it down.
Despite her displeasure, Nana sized Dairon up several times before asking, "Who is this man? Are you betrothed? Is he your fiancé?"
"No. He's…my trainer." She cleared her throat. The elderly lady didn't believe her.
"Youngsters are becoming more and more brazen." She looked shocked. "Don't you know what kind of rumors would surface from a woman walking around with a man she's not betrothed to? No one will want to marry you."
Before she could react, Dairon spoke teasingly. "It's okay if no one wants to marry her. I will be her husband."
"So you have an eye for Jasmine. It's expected." The elderly lady must have sensed the sparks between them. She went ahead to unload tons of information that she knew and thought would be beneficial to them in future. All that was left was her recommending the best midwife—she would probably do that if this chat continued.
Jasmine smiled through it until the elderly woman's eyes started tearing.
"Nana, what happened?" Jasmine was quick to hold her shoulders.
"Vivi would be happy for you." She sniffed. "My poor Vivi."
