Marina didn't realize that Jasmine had moved from her seat until a slap landed viciously on her cheeks. Her eyes that were closed to savor her tea shot open when the cup suddenly shook and spilled the warm tea onto her face. She stood when the remaining tea poured on her thighs and the cup shattered.

"Are you out of your mind?" She roared.

Jasmine grabbed her throat and glared right into her eyes. "You can say anything you want about me if it strokes your idiotic ego. But if you ever say a word about my family again, it will not just be my hand against your cheek. I will kill you."

Marina's eyes flared as she looked into Jasmine's. The latter had flames in them that threatened to shoot right out if she said anything she shouldn't.

Jasmine relaxed her grip around Marina's neck. She wanted to squeeze it but had to control herself. If she were to murder a water demigoddess, she would implicate Dairon especially since the latter was provoking her because of him—not that she believed that she, a demigoddess, was stronger than Marina. The latter must be holding back her strength for some reason.

She pulled away and sat back down, calming down her anger as she poured herself a cup of tea. She glanced into the cup then at Alaina.

"Aren't you scared the cup could be poisoned?"

"Poisoned?" Alaina raised her brows.

"Never mind." Jasmine took a sip. That was probably a move that Marina couldn't pull off. She was uncertain whether deities were familiar with poisons so she couldn't be the one to reveal it.

Marina was furious after being humiliated. The gods paying attention to her stroked her ego a little so she scoffed at Jasmine. "Leave Dairon's Island as soon as you can. He will never be with you!"

"Why not? I'm beautiful and have two elements." Jasmine provoked her.

Marina stood up furiously. "He would never be with a lowly human! Don't forget your origins, human!" She emphasized on the word as though it was supposed to be an insult.

"What's wrong with humans?" Jasmine was amused. Just because they didn't have powers and had a much shorter lifespan didn't mean they were worthless. It was not funny but she laughed. "Just in case you don't know, Dairon lived in the human world for seventeen years. He loves the human world. He is half human. If you cannot accept that part of him, you are quite pitiful. He will never be with you either. But guess who he is compatible with?"

Her words were only meant to vex Marina but the more she spoke, the more she thought her words made sense and it terrified her.

Realizing that Jasmine was not going to remain silent and be humiliated by her and her lackeys, Marina glared at Pearl who in turn glanced at Jasmine.

"There is no such thing as compatibility without love. At least not in a realm that matters. And Dairon is head over heels for Goddess Marina. Ever wondered why he never got close to any other goddess?" She scoffed in response to her own words. "Of course you wouldn't. You were still lost in the dumps."

Jasmine smiled. Did they just point out the inconsistency in their own bluff? The question should have been why Dairon never got close to any female until she arrived, then suddenly made her live on his island. Since they didn't look confident in the slightest, she humored them.

"Since you are so close to each other, have him send me out of his island. If he says no to that, stop embarrassing yourself by sticking to a demigod who has zero interest in you while making the ones who like you treat you like some special being you aren't."

She watched Marina's face contort in fury while the goddesses at the table whispered among themselves. Has she gone too far?

As if on cue, Dairon returned with Sinos.

"Are you done?" Dairon asked her.

"I am, but Marina has something to ask you. Right, Marina?"

"Just leave!" The latter roared.

"Gladly." She stood and placed her hand in Dairon's palm.

Sinos didn't sit either. "Wait. Beautiful Jas, can we have a talk?"

"Sure." She indicated for him to follow them to Dairon's mansion.

"Did Marina trouble you?" Dairon asked when they had teleported back to his island.

"No. I think I went a little too far scolding her. I feel like cringing at my own words now that I think about them." She frowned and didn't want to remember any of them. She sounded like a possessive woman asking a seductress to stay away from her man. Urgh. What if Dairon had heard it?

He must have been reading her mind when she thought about it because he smirked and pulled her to his side. "Why would you feel that way, flower? You were right. We are compatible."

"Can we not have this kind of conversation?" She chuckled awkwardly and glanced at Sinos who was trying to make his presence unnoticeable behind them. "What did you want to talk to me about, Sinos?"

He looked down at himself. "Everyone told me I look handsome in this outfit. Is it true?"

Dairon glared at him while Jasmine chuckled. "You know you don't have to beat around the bush."

Overjoyed, he got to the point. "Could you make me more men's clothes? I'll bring the payment right away." He disappeared and returned about a minute later with yet another heavy-looking box that was full of jewels.

"I swindled… ahem… I mean, I got these from Lord Blaze and King Rian when they lost bets and riddles to me. It is all top notch quality."

She chuckled at his audacity. He could even swindle King Rian.

"Okay. I will bring them to the academy when I'm done. Give me several days."

"Take your time." He cheered.

"Are you done?" Dairon indirectly shooed him off.

"Of course. I have to get used to my wings." His large wings appeared behind his back. "See you tomorrow, beautiful Jas."

Jasmine smiled and glanced at Dairon who looked like he wanted to say something. He was probably going to tease her. She awkwardly pointed towards the direction of her room. "I haven't opened Vivi's envelope yet. I will do that right now. See you later." She ran up before he could respond.

She had forgotten all about the envelope after returning the day before and only remembered it when she was getting ready for the tea party. She had not wanted to open it in a hurry so she left it on her bed.

She reached her room and pulled the hairpin out of her hair. How did everyone manage to keep such a thing in their hair for so long? It felt so uncomfortable after just a few hours!

Sitting on her bed, she ripped the top of the envelope and pulled out several sheets of paper. The first one was a small note.

[Dear Jas, do you remember how we first met? I admired your doll because she was very pretty and rudely grabbed her from you. That was so many years ago but I cringe every time I think about it. I always thought of ways to make up for your tears when your favorite doll was snatched from you—not to mention that scar you ended up with on your nose when we fought, thanks to my sharp nails—and make our years of friendship perfect. I hope you will like this.

I love you, Vivi.

PS—I hope you get a fiancé soon. I'm starting to think that my hypothesis about you offending the gods of love in your previous life is true.]

Jasmine wiped the tears she didn't know were falling from her eyes until they dropped onto the letter. "What are you saying Vivi? Our childhood was perfect."

She read the letter a few more times and hugged it to her chest. "I love you too, Vivi." And I hope you come back. I will wait for you. She added in her mind.

The words reverberated in her mind in an odd way that made her heart skip a beat. I hope you come back. I will wait for you.

It felt bizarre. Remembering that she said that or something along the lines when she took daffodils to Vivian's grave, she checked out the other sheets of paper.

They were all designs for men's, women's and children's clothes. They were all detailed and beautiful which made a bittersweet smile appear on Jasmine's lips. Vivian hated drawing designs despite being a designer. She would do it because she had to and most of the time, only draw an unclear sketch. She liked to make the clothes without knowing how they looked. They turned out awesome each time but Jasmine had always bugged her to create complete designs at least once. Who would have thought that the first time she did it would be to give it to her as a gift? She should be happy but she couldn't help feeling sad.
