"Get out of my sight!" Scarlet snarled at the guards who were blocking her entry to King Rian's chambers.

"King Rian has a guest." The guards responded even though it was evident from the voices that could vaguely be heard through the door.

About to explode in frustration, Scarlet was on the verge of pushing them out of her way but a deep voice interrupted her. "Let her come in."

She glared at the guards and walked in, bowing slightly when she was before King Rian. "Greetings, my lord."

"What brings you here, Scarlet? I believe the trainees need you more than I do." King Rian's face was full of disapproval.

"It's an urgent matter and it involves the trainees." Scarlet reported and wondered where the guest was that the guards had mentioned. Were they lying? Any deities entering or leaving King Rian's castle had to walk through specific doors and were not allowed to teleport. She didn't think there was an exception but oddly, she thought she felt a third presence in the room.

"Speak. I don't have all day to listen to you." King Rian rushed her impatiently.

"Of course." She forced a smile and they sat down at the table to discuss. She looked panicked by the matter as she began, "This is about Jasmine, the demigoddess of earth and fire who was brought back from the human realm and whose banquet was held just a few days ago."

"What's wrong with her?" Asked King Rian.

Scarlet looked hesitant and at a loss and only spoke when she met King Rian's impatient gaze. "Jasmine is a threat to the realm of immortals."

A chortle resounded in the room and King Rian looked at her like she was an idiot. "What are you saying? That the little demigoddess who can't even control her powers is a threat to the realm of immortals? You certainly mean the realm of mortals, don't you? And if that's what you mean, you have nothing to worry about. We have already brought her back and she will not be allowed to go to the realm of mortals unless and until she can control her powers."

Scarlet grabbed onto the chance that had just presented itself. "In that case, I have something else to report. Jasmine went to the human realm for two whole days in the company of Lord Dairon. He sure is set on causing trouble for the humans despite claiming to love them."

King Rian frowned. He knew that it must be true, knowing Dairon. He wouldn't reject Jasmine if she persuaded him to let her visit her family. He didn't want to talk about it because according to the rules, he should punish both Dairon and Jasmine—but he didn't want to punish a demigoddess who only wanted to see her family. It would be cruel and Scarlet certainly didn't think the same way.

"What were you saying about her being a danger to the realm of immortals?" He shifted the topic back to what the goddess had come to rat about.

She was displeased that he was dismissing a crime but forced her expression to be one of worry. She had a better chance to get Jasmine banished anyway. "She threatened Goddess Marina."

"So you are here to report a cat fight." King Rian looked displeased.

She cursed under her breath. If he put it that way, he would easily dismiss it. She uncontrollably clenched her fists. "This is not just about Lord Dairon. Jasmine is generally dangerous. She is a fire and earth demigoddess alright, but have you forgotten that she died before? Do you know where her soul wandered for two years before she was reborn? What if she ended up in the underworld for a while? She could have picked up some vengeful traits. She blames the realm of immortals for her death, after all."

King Rian thought about it and still thought Scarlet was making a mountain out of a mole hill. "You are overestimating her. Besides, I spent time with her. She doesn't give off any hint of vengeance."

She lost her cool. "My lord, don't forget what happened eight centuries ago! We have all suffered for all these years because we trusted a goddess who didn't look like she harbored any ill intentions! What did she do in the end? She destroyed…"

"Enough!" A roar resounded and Blaze materialized.

Scarlet shuddered. So she was right when she thought that there was a third presence in the room. It was Blaze. He had merely made himself invisible and was listening in on them all along.

"Lord Blaze." Her eyes went wide with horror. She didn't have enough time to try and charm him with her beautiful eyes when he sent a forceful gust of wind to slam her so hard against the wall that she thought her spine might have broken. Crap. She had always forgotten about the wrath of an angry fire deity when she faced Blaze.

She steadied herself but her legs still shook from the impact. Her limbs felt broken, and she used it in attempt to convince King Rian. "Look at this."

She took out a white crystal and illuminated it to reveal a scene of Jasmine with her fair hand squeezing Marina's neck.

"I will kill you!" She threatened the goddess.

Scarlet looked at King Rian with "I told you" written all over her face. "She said it herself that she would kill Goddess Marina. You should never underestimate the wrath of a fire deity. You saw what Lord Blaze did just now just because I mentioned…" She shut up when she felt his glare.

Blaze narrowed his eyes at her. "Where's the rest of the scene? Jasmine would never threaten anyone out of the blue. Do you know what I think? That you and Marina planned out the entire charade and only had your crystal record the part where her anger was on the verge of getting out of hand."

"That's not true!" Scarlet felt that it was a losing battle. She huffed at Blaze. Since he didn't know what was good for him, he should not blame her for using unscrupulous means.

"You may leave." King Rian dismissed her before adding, "I hope you are not planning to do anything to any human, Scarlet."

"Of course not." Scarlet forced a smile to mask her shock, before she flashed a flirtatious smile at Blaze and left.

King Rian waited until he could no longer feel Scarlet's presence before he looked at Blaze. "Why did you do that?"

Blaze glared right back at him. "Why didn't you punish her for mentioning that incident?"

"Because she was half right about it. No one would have expected her…"

"She did nothing wrong!" Blaze lost his temper when his daughter was mentioned. He slammed his fists against the table separating him from King Rian. "I can't believe that you still think she was guilty. My daughter was innocent!"

"Not entirely." King Rian calmly retorted. "I knew her better than anyone. She was the goddess I cared most about."

Blaze huffed in anger. "Just in case you have forgotten, Scarlet is the one who killed Jasmine the first time."

That had not been proven but King Rian was certain of it too so he didn't deny it.

"If you don't keep your eye on her, I will kill her faster than Jasmine can squeeze Marina's neck."

"Then keep your eye on Jasmine as well. I don't want her to go thinking that it's alright to threaten everyone who provokes her." He countered, earning a scoff from Blaze.

"Goddess Lolanthe?" Jasmine was pleasantly surprised when she saw Lolanthe at the academy the next day. "What are you doing here? You're not a trainer here, are you?"

"No I'm not." Lolanthe flew over to her. "I just wanted to take a stroll and say hi to you. Do you want to have lunch with me?"

Jasmine nodded. "I'm about to finish the training session with Sinos. I will be free to leave after that."

"Then I'll watch you if you don't mind." Lolanthe lead the way back to the training grounds and watched as Sinos taught Jasmine how to summon her scepter. It took several attempts before she could finally hold it in her hands when she successfully summoned it.

It lit up along with Jasmine's smile.

"That was excellent. I'll teach you how to use it next time." Sinos gave her a necklace as a reward.

When he was done speaking to Jasmine, he could no longer pretend not to see Lolanthe. He felt awkward facing her. "Goddess Lolanthe."

"I heard Blaze lost some valuable jewels to you." She taunted him, knowing why he was uneasy.

He scratched the back of his neck. "You flatter me, Goddess."

"I'll give you a riddle. If you can answer it within two months, I will let you off. If you can't, you will give back everything you won from Blaze."

"Two months? I'm a god of wisdom." He chuckled. Wasn't she underestimating him?

"I know." She crossed her arms. "Who is a decent of the realm where they don't belong?"

Sinos almost found it ridiculous. This for two months? "Obviously, humans."

"No." She scoffed. "Think about your answer carefully.

He furrowed his brows. Wrong? But they were born in the human realm and ended up in the underworld when they died. His eyes met Jasmine's across the room and he chuckled at the fact that he didn't get it the first time. "The answer is Jasmine."

Lolanthe expected that, but she shook her head. "Think about your answer carefully. The next wrong attempt will be considered a fail."
