Chapter 6: Ch. 6 – Meeting With The Elves

Before he went to the deeper part of the jungle, Rei prepared a set of primitive gears such as; a couple of wooden spears, a simple stone knife and a water pouch made from a big and wide leaf that he took from a tree which almost resembles a banana tree on Earth. Except, the size was way bigger and taller.

When everything was crafted into perfection, Rei tidied up the Blakk Valdr's carcasses and tossed them into the river. Although it was such a drag and wasting so much time back and forth, it was for the sake of his own safety and to minimize the chance of being tracked by other predators in the future.

He also washed himself to get rid of the Blakk Valdr's filthy stench that lingered on his body. The cold and crystal clear water made his mood better. He let out a relaxed breath as the water washed all the dried blood on his body and clothes.

After he felt refreshed, he got out from the river and grabbed all his makeshift gears and embarked on his journey through the unknown jungles.

According to Silas' generals' knowledge, the jungle was called Southern Wilderness. The jungle itself was located in the most southern part of the Norden Sub-Continent and served as a neutral land for adjacent countries and kingdoms around it.

There were many kingdoms and countries that tried to claim Southern Wilderness as their own territory due to its rich resources and its mysterious power that could be obtained by uncovering its mysteries. Those countries and kingdoms will be divided into four main factions;

The Hollians Kingdom with The Holy Church as their main benefactors. This kingdom was the center of human's civilization in the Norden Sub-Continent for thousands of years. With more advanced technologies and science, The Hollians Kingdom 

The Elves Kingdom - Silverwall, many said that the Elves' capital was flying islands which were mysteriously hidden by their magic. Only elves and their trusted friends may see and enter Silverwall.

The Dwarves Kingdom which was located on the west mountainous land. Legend has it, their capital city was built under the mountain and decorated with gold and other treasures. But it was just a myth or lullaby for thousands of years for humans, since the dwarves were rarely seen in human civilization.

The last faction was The Kall's Kingdom, a kingdom that was filled with every race of Beast People and every short of Demi-Human Creatures.

When Rei finished recalling Silas' memories, he pondered a while and looked at the sky. His instinct told him to not venture north.

"I have bad feelings, those hunters from earlier must be searching for me by now," Rei pondered and he was very thoughtful when he was about to decide where he wanted to go.

Alas, he chose to walk further south since the probability of meeting an Elf was slim and the Elves would not bother him, as long as Rei was always low profile until he was strong enough to fight head to head with someone or other wild beast.

When he made his way deeper through the jungle, the scenery was getting darker due to denser trees in his vicinity, he found quite the difficulty to navigate. His senses were getting sharper and he could sense his surroundings for at least a hundred meter radius.

Thanks to the System that God of Wolves that helped him to do appraisals to the creatures that he saw and warned him for any dangerous creatures. Although he wants to hunt bigger games, he was not crazy enough to pick a wild beast that was much stronger than him.

After three hours worth of walking, Rei sensed another presence. Not only that, he even sniffed the smell of roasted meat ahead of him. He quickly jumped up to a big tree and carefully peek at his surroundings from behind its lush leaves.

From above, he saw a glimpse of torches that fluttered in the air from afar, his curiosity led him to get closer and swiftly jumped to another tree so he got a closer look at what was going on up ahead.

He carefully did a reconnaissance and entered his stealth mode that he learned from his past life, his breath, his body and his presence became one with nature.

On top of the tree, Rei saw nine tents and one bigger huts that were made out of leaves and twigs. The shape was very rigid and primitive, they arranged neatly around the big bonfire in the middle.

Dozens of midget creatures were feasting on roasted meat and circling around the bonfire. In the middle of the bonfire there was the head of an animal that looked like a stag with enormous sized antlers on its head. Presumably, those creatures preserved the animal's head by smoking it as their trophy.

Rei squinted his eyes to identify them by their looks which were short, big headed, long noses and ears. Also, their skins were greenish with smells of swamp. The light reflection on their eyes was yellowish, their ferocious appetite when they ate really resembled that they were no different than animals.

"Are they goblins?" Rei solemnly thought in his silence.

"Eh? Just two? Blakk Valdr gave me 5 Life Essences. Maybe because their races are different?"

However, those communal races were dozens. Rei counted their heads and there were 24 of them. That sum was enough to afford more useful magic or martial skills.

 

Although goblins were not appetizing for him, he still needs souls from other creatures to get stronger. Thus, he readied his spear and jumped down.

He waited for another minute to assess the situation to see if there were any stronger creatures nearby. When he didn't sense any dangerous and far stronger being nearby, he decided to strike them.

Rei charged at them as fast as he could and jumped right above them and shouted out loud to surprise them. Rei smiled when they were panicked and scattered around.

However, just right before he landed on the ground, a flash of red light flew as fast as a laser beam towards them.

KAAABOOMM!

When it hit the bonfire, that light beam caused a massive explosion and made Rei flung back and he hit a tree. That explosion alone was enough to burn every single goblin and their whole encampment.

If not for his body resistance to heat and cold, Rei would be caught in the fireball and also burned into crisp.

"Uhukh! What the fuck was that?" Rei cursed as he waved the smoke in front of him.

He tried to stand up and took a hasty retreat, but of course it wasn't that easy. Two male and one female figures slowly approached him amidst the fire and smoke. The female figure then waved her hand and water molecules started to gather above them and got bigger overtime. Water was gathered and floated midair until it was big enough to envelop the whole burning encampment.

Click!

With just a snap of her fingers, the water that looming above them broke and rained down, subsiding the raging fire immediately. Upon watching such high tier magic, Rei knew he was in big trouble. Although those three were not emitting murderous intent towards him, Rei didn't want to have any troubles or business with them.

"Catch him!" said the female figures.

When Rei was about to run away, one of the male figures casted a spell to the ground and commanded tree roots in the vicinity to entrapped Rei's feet. Although his reaction was fast enough, he was too slow and stumbled on the ground.

"Nista!"

When he looked back, an arrow had already flown into his neck. He tried to break free from the roots but the roots ensnared him in place and he couldn't do much about it. He closed his eyes and flailed his head frantically.

"Halt!" The female figure shouted and stopped the arrow with her voice.

When Rei thought he was already done for, the pain that he anticipated never happened. He opened his eyes and see the arrow was stopped midair and just about an inch from his neck.

As the smoke slowly blew away by the wind, Rei finally could recognize the tree people who waylaid him. Rei shook his head and finally he could see those three people clearly.

The males figure was tall and wore White outfit and the other one wore black outfit.

When his eyes met with the female in the middle. He was immediately fascinated by the beauty in front of him; the clothes that she wore further embellished every curve of her sexy and seductive body.

 Her face is very charming, delicate and full of authority.  Sapphire eyes sparkle beautifully even in the dark night. Upon seeing the woman's pointed ears, Rei immediately realized that she was an Elf.

 

"All Goblins are exterminated, Your Grace!" The male figure who wore black outfit shouted after he checked the all the burned goblins.

 

"Yes, but I sense there is one presence left, other than us!" added the other male elf with white outfit.

 

When Rei heard their conversation, he knew that they were talking about him. He tiptoed his way to nearby bushes to hide and planned his escape.

 

However, the female figure waved his hand and the wind blew violently and dissipates all the smokes around them. Cold sweat ran down his spine, He instantly froze in place when their gaze was so murderous towards him. 

 "Well, Well… Silas Carnielle from all people in Norden," said the female elf with a haughty voice.

Ptoey!

One of her henchmen with white outfit spit right onto Rei's face and said "You Hollians' dog! What are you doing in our jungles?"

"Yours? As far as I remember, this jungle is still a neutral land in this continent." Rei answered calmly.

That male elf quickly unsheathed his sword and threatened him. "You dare talk back to me?!"

Before her henchmen swung his sword, that haughty female elf stopped him and said "Enough, Erwyn. Just tie him up. We will bring him to Silverwall."

"But why? Princess Lilanna?" The other henchmen who wore black outfit asked her.

"Because The Elder wants an audience with him."

After she said that, the two henchmen muted and did their job without any more questions.
