Chapter 17: Episode 16 – Palace

We were called to the palace, by the king, for an informal meeting.

He asked Milena and the Eastwoods to go together.

Since we are still in the capital to attend some social gatherings that are taking place, we didn't waste any time and are going to the palace.

Arriving at the palace, some guards checked our identities and escorted us inside the palace.

"Did the king talk about what he wants?" - Max

"Is it about the duel?"- Milena

"You can rest assured, the king is a smart guy, he wouldn't punish his vassals for something like that, besides we were called for an informal meeting" - Erick

The palace is very big, you can easily get lost in it.

When we arrive at something that looks like a private garden, there is the prince practicing with his sword, he is practicing movements as if he were fighting with a ghost.

Because he was concentrated, he didn't notice that we passed him.

After walking a little further we arrived in a room, the guard opened the door and asked us to wait inside.

"Your majesty William, I believe you didn't call us here just for that, anything else?" - Milena

"I have two requests for you, first that you make friends with Alexandre, he is a good boy, as soon as he realizes that there is no chance of separating you two he will stop" - William

"I don't see any problems, I just hope he realizes that soon" - Max

"The second reason I called you here is because of the queen and the princesses, they were very interested about the make-up" - William

As he was saying this, we heard another knock on the door.

"You may come in" - William

After he answers, the door opens and the queen and the three princesses enter.

During the palace-only tour, we visit where the royal guards train.

During the training the prince appeared.

He didn't challenge me to a duel this time, but asked if he could train with me.

After a while, we stopped to rest, and the Prince started to make conversation.

"If you want you can call me Max" - Max

"I understand, it seems like a hard life, well, I have to study a lot about foreign languages, foreign custom and geography, plus know how to evaluate a person" - Alex

"It doesn't look easy for you either" - Max

"Because of that, when I saw Milena, I realized that she wasn't trying to get my attention because of my position or beauty" - Alex

"One day you will find someone right for you, and well, your position and beauty are part of you" - Max

"I want someone because they see me for who I am, and are not just after what I have to offer" - Alex

"Sometimes, you just need to get that person to know you. When the person is only after your position, that has a high chance of failing or not being lasting. You just have to take matters into your own hands." - Max

"That's a cool way to look at things, I'll think about it" - Alex

We talked about several other things. At the end of the day my image of the prince changed a little.

Maybe the prince isn't just so bad, maybe things just happened at the wrong time.
