Chapter Forty Three
She ran forwards passing by the lines of maids and butlers to the massive front doors before slamming them open. “We’re back!” she yelled out again.
“Welcome back!” It was Elizabeth.
“It’s been such a long time, how are you three doing?” She came running out of the manor and embraced us three tightly. Claire and Clara had always been fond of Elizabeth and she treated them like her own daughters.
“We have been great, how about you mom,? where’s Kate?.” I asked.
I hadn’t seen Kate since a couple of years ago when we went back for one of our holidays.
The last time I saw her, she was five, now five years had passed and she had just turned ten.
How time flies…
However before Elizabeth could answer my question my eyes glanced behind her, to where there was a small girl with blonde hair and blue eyes peering at me from around the corner shyly.
“Kate, come to say hello to your bib brother and big sisters,” Elizabeth called her over.
Although reluctant at first, she slowly came out from behind the corner and walked to the front door.
“Ah, she’s so cute, come give a big sister a hug!” Claire said while squishing Kate in between her large breasts.
“Let me hug her!” Clara, who was usually a little timid grabbed the dazed and bewildered Kate out of Claire’s embrace and hugged her tightly.
“So cute!” the two girls screamed in joy. However one couldn’t shame them for it, both of them were able to have such a cute little sister. It was practically every teen girl’s dream.
I sighed.
I wonder what things they are going to teach her.
While Claire and Clara were walking inside the manor with kate, I decided to walk in while talking with Elizabeth.
“Mom, how’s uncle? Is everything at the house fine?” I asked.
“Everything’s been great.” She suddenly leaned towards my ear. “Even though she’s acting a little bit shy, Kate had been restlessly waiting for you to come back, so make sure to spend time with her when the girls finally leave her alone.” After she said this, Elizabeth started talking about the things that had been going on over the past couple of years.
She talked about all the help that Steven had been, and how she, Beth (Claire’s mom), and Liza (Elizabeth’s maid) had started their gardening club and had been inviting the women from the village close to the family estate to take part. It had been a major success. even the profits of the village increased due to the high-quality vegetables selling for a high price.
After talking for a while with Elizabeth and Steven, Claire and Clara finally came inside with an exhausted Kate who looked like she had been subjected to their endless torture.
What had they done to her? I didn’t want to find out, however, although she was exhausted, Kate showed a faint smile, she must have had fun.
After Liza brought Kate up for a bath, Everybody sat down for a family meeting, which Stuart had set up.
“Well, now that you three are back, there’s a lot to catch up with, however, Id likes to ask one thing.”
“What do you guys think about marriage, you are around the age...”
Such a blunt question asked by Stuart left Me, Claire and Clara stunned.
Marriage? To who?
Elizabeth and Beth were giggling.

“Marriage? Dad, is that the first thing you ask us even after not seeing us for a couple of years?” Claire flustered and somewhat angry rose her voice.
Clara on the other hand was bright red and wasn’t in a state to say anything.
“Well it’s only natural that we plan for the future of the family, well what do you think? How about you both marry James? The rest of the family doesn’t find a problem in it.”
Marry them both? That was outrageous… and to be honest, at the moment I hadn’t had those types of feelings for them, and I technically already had Rose…
Stuart suddenly turned towards me. More or likely wondering about my stance on the situation.
I could only reluctantly reply…
“How about we give it a little bit more time? I mean we just got back, so maybe wait until we are settled back down to ask…
Thinking for a while, Stuart suddenly nodded and continued. “Well if that is what you think, then so be it, however, the next time I would like an answer, this concerns the future of the family after all.”
After nodding to Stuart and calming down a bit, we decided to go through our experiences throughout the last few years.
Following that was dinner, and by the time Kate came down from her bath with Liza, we all ate. Liza had made her special chicken soup in advance of our arrival, alongside some curry, it was truly a feast.
After finishing up my dish, I looked towards Kate, who was already finished and just sitting there quietly.
I nodded and breathed out.
“Kate, would you mind coming with me for a bit,” I said while getting out of my chair and thanking Liza for dinner.
A bit surprised and confused at first, Liza nodded shyly and followed me out to the back. From there she continued to walk behind me until I sat down near a hill.
It was getting dark and the sun was setting, so it was the perfect place to watch the sky.
After we both sat down, I talked.
“First of all, I would like to say sorry for not being there over the past six years, I hope you can forgive me.”
I couldn’t come out with the right words, so I could only say this. She probably hated me.
“I-I forgive you.” Although still shy, she forced out an answer. And to my surprise, she forgave me?
I continued. “However, although I have just come back, it won’t be long until I have to leave again, so id like to spend as much time with you as possible, is that all right? And even when I leave, you will have Claire and Clara to talk to and spend time with.” Besides Gregory, I hadn’t told anyone about me leaving, however, I just felt like I could tell Kate.
Was it because she was my sister? Or was it because I got the same caring feeling from her, the same feeling that I got from my sister in my previous life?
I didn’t know, however, I felt like I could speak anything that was on my mind.
“That’s fine, I don’t mind, but please don’t be gone for so long, I missed you, also Big sister Claire and Big Sister Clara are a little scary.” Kate who had been shy since we got back, was finally talking properly, and she was even telling me that she missed me. And she even cracked a joke…
What had I done to warrant such feelings? Although I was only away at school, I had practically missed out on six years of her life, nobody should receive such warm feelings from someone whom they had left for six years, not even family, however here she was, saying it was all right for me to spend time with her.
She was a good person, it warmed my heart to have such a caring sister.
“Thanks and I promise I won’t be gone for a long time, I don’t want to leave you with those two scary girls for too long anyways.” I joked and patted her head before we watched the sun set…
