Chapter 6: Regressor and Plans for the Future

------One week ago -------

POV: Yin Xifeng.

"Urgh...." I let out a slight groan as I opened my eyes.

Soft sunlight tickled my cheeks.

"Didn't I… die?"

I slowly rose to my feet. My body was strangely light.

My limbs weren't heavy and stiff, nor was there any pain from within me. It didn't feel as if my body and soul were being torn from inside out by the corrupted chaos qi infused into my body.

Besides that, my skin was unsullied like pure white jade.

"...?"

My skin was pristine and spotless.

It was supposed to have turned black because of the corrupted chaos qi at the inheritance site, but it is completely normal right now. The last thing I remember is Jianyu's face filled with worry and care as he rushed towards me.

'D-did Jianyu save me...why, just why did you save me? After all that I did...." I soon realised that something was wrong, I was too small.

"Huh! W-what" I gasped in shock as I looked at the child in the mirror.

"Why do I look like a child?.... Did I return to the time of my childhood?" 

I was so shocked that I simply couldn't believe it. It all seemed like a dream, yet no matter how much time passed I didn't wake up.

"Ha ha ha" 

I couldn't believe it. I felt like I had been kicked in the gut as I slumped to the ground, wrapping my arms around my knees. I couldn't help but laugh bitterly as I remember what had happened to me before my death.

As if it was a sigh, I laughed despondently. 

"To think that bastard would betray me after he used me as a sacrificial lamb and then had the nerve to call it a "necessary sacrifice"!

"Yet it was the person I ridiculed and thought of as an arrogant weakling, that tried to save me and wept for me when nobody was by my side..."

"Ha ha ha" I laughed mockingly as a single trail of tears appeared on my cheek.

"Lady Xifeng, it's time for you to wake up-", at that time, the maid who had been by my side ever since I was a baby, Su Lan, had entered the room and saw me on the floor.

"My lady! What happened to you? Are you alright?!" She rushed to me and tried to check if I was injured.

"I'm fine *sniff*, I just saw a nightmare*sniff*," I said as more tears began to flow through my eyes.

"There, there, it's all fine now my lady. This Su Lan might not look like it, but I am very strong. I will beat all your nightmares and chase them away!"

"Hahaha" I giggled as I heard my maid's bold claims. And that's how my second chance at life began.

Later that day, I sat on my bed thinking about all that had happened today and what I would do in the future now that I have returned.

'First of all, I have to get stronger and also weaken that 'bastard'. The best way to do that would be to take away all the opportunities that 'lucky bastard' gained in my previous life.'

'Also in about a week or so, my engagement with Jianyu will be declared. Jianyu.....he...was the only person except for grandmother and Su Lan that was by my side till the end, even though I treated him so badly he didn't hold it against me. It does not matter if you did it all out of pity, I promise I will not let you suffer no matter what.'

Thinking this Jianyu had a determined look in her eyes.

--After the meeting between Xin Jianyu and Yin Xifeng--

I shoved my face into a pillow on my bed and let out a muffled scream. "Aaaaa, what have I done? I couldn't even smile properly. He must think I'm a weird person," I thought to myself.

"Haaaaa, let's calm down. I can still fix it, if I remember correctly Jianyu invited me to an auction a few weeks after our meeting. I just have to suggest our next outing to him at that time. In my previous life, I didn't see his efforts to make me happy. But, this time I won't let your efforts be wasted Jianyu. I have to improve our relationship before we enter the sect.....before you meet 'her'.'

'Alright! Let's control public opinion in the sect and portray myself as a gentle and heroic youth. So the blame for a broken engagement falls on my fiance.

So, the best course of action would be to have frequent meetings with my 'dear' fiance. This way, I can act as her caring fiance, find out when she makes contact with this heavenblessed and find out the heavenblessed's identity. Three f*cking birds with a single stone, as expected of me hahaha. 

Well, there's just this one little problem. My age, Yin Xifeng, is currently 9, while I am 8. The sect accepts disciples at the age of 12, which would mean we will be separated for a year. This year will most likely be the time the heavenblessed will strike.

Hmmm.... I could try to ask my grandfather to let me enter the sect early, but he wouldn't bend the sect's rules for a child's whims. So, there's only one way I will have to show him and mother that I have fallen in love with my pretty fiance. I guess I'll have to plan out a date or something in a while.'

"Lei Qiang" 

Suddenly, without a single sound made, a woman in high-quality servant's clothing appeared in front of me. She, Lei Qiang, was my bodyguard of sorts. She usually serves as my servant but is also responsible for my safety, she should be at the threshold for entering the Immortal realm. She had black hair and peach blossom-shaped black eyes.

"Yes, young master?"

"I am planning on going to invite miss Xifeng on an outing, so I was wondering if you knew about someplace with good food or if there was some special event happening?" I asked her with the cutest smile I could muster without dying out of cringe.

"With miss Xifeng? Hmm..... there's going to be an auction at the Phoenix feather auction hall in 2 weeks, as for a place for good food. The Dragon's whiskers pagoda, which is owned by our Xin family, is quite famous for its food." Lei Qiang answered with a gentle smile.

'Damn, she looks so dazzling when she smiles'

"Well, I guess I'll have to discuss this matter with my mother later...."

'Putting this matter aside tomorrow is finally the day huh.... Tomorrow I will start my qi cultivation journey.'
