The Black Tower, one of the strongest powers on this continent, had been sending some of its subordinates to villages all over the place, their mission was simple, massacre as much as possible.
Some villages were completely annihilated, and some, were rescued by heroes before they were completely destroyed. The village of Ronia, where the family of three lived, had been recently provided by guards, from the nearby city of Coupitia.
But, it just so happened, that, today, the village was left unguarded. The guards were on a mission outside the village at the moment, they were fighting against a group of monsters that had appeared in the mountains.
And so, on the same day, where the guards headed to defeat the monsters, and eliminate the coming threat of the monsters coming, and at night, the village was attacked by the Black Magicians.
The village was completely unguarded at the moment, aside from 5 guards left behind, and some strong people living inside the village of Ronia, they were completely left on their own.
Ron, held his white sword in his hands, he was a well-trained swordsman, that had served under a noble(A lowly one) in the past. As for Jena, his wife, even though she wasn't nearly as strong, she could still fight more than three guards at one time.
Still, in the face of Mages, especially ones sent by the Black Tower, they were mere ants, they could maybe fight against the weakest members, but even a lowly servant, that had trained for more than a year, could kill them with two to three magic spells.
Magic, after all, rained supreme in this world. Of course, there was no doubt, many physical fighters, and weapon users, could hold their own against the strongest of magicians, but in the end, Magicians were simply stronger.
Aside from Ability Holders, referred to more as, "Disasters!", could be considered stronger than Magicians, but such beings were rare in this world, so the statement, "Magicians are the strongest", still held true.
Jena, opened the door of her house as quietly as possible, while Ron was watching over her with his sword, prepared for any sudden attacks made against them. At this time, Matthew, the seven-year-old little boy, held on tightly to his mother's hand.
For the first time in his life, he was feeling fear, even when faced with dangerous monsters, he still only flinched a little, after all, his father and mother could deal with them in seconds, and even when the monster was strong, his father would still end up victorious in the end.
But this time, his father was scared, he didn't show it, but Matthew could tell, he had lived with him for his entire life (Of course he did) and so, he could tell. His father, the strongest person he had seen in his entire life, was scared by the sight of these people.
He had often been told scary stories about the dangerous group, who originated from a different continent, the Black Tower, called after their headquarters, which was, in fact, a tall, and gigantic, black tower.
Who would have imagined, that, that group, would actually attack his village?
The door opened, and Ron took the initiative forward, but there was nothing, and so, he signaled to his wife to move behind him. With that, the three made their way out of the small house they lived in.
Just up ahead, they could see countless colors flashing, from fire bolts, to lightening shots, many different types of magic were used to kill, some members wearing long black coats, seemed to enjoy the sight of all these people screaming in terror.
Matthew was about to tighten his hold on his mother's hand, because, he was getting more scared by the moment, but instead, he felt his mother's hand tighten on his first, which only served to make him more uneasy.
He knew his mother wasn't as strong as his father, but he had personally seen her fight, and she was one of the strongest people he ever saw fighting. He had even seen her take down an ogre with one punch once.
Still, at the moment, she was scared of mere humans, well, humans were the ruling race all over the world, sure, they don't look threatening when compared to orcs, dragons, or even giants, actually, even vampires looked scarier, but in the end, humans were the strongest, and most terrifying of them all.
Ron signaled for his wife Jena, to follow him, as they were making their way toward the stable of the village, there existed only one here, and at the moment, their only hope of making it out of here alive, was to ride a horse, and escape toward the nearest place, the city of Coupitia.
Unfortunately, things weren't going to be so easy for them, Ron immediately stopped advancing, after taking his fourth step forward, and pushed his wife and son to the ground, as he jumped into the air.
Swoosh!
In the next second, the wall beside them, was blown out, and a giant hole was left on it. It was a magic spell called, "Wind Blade", if Ron hadn't fought with a Magician before now, he wouldn't have been able to pick up on this attack, resulting in his, and his family's, immediate Death!
Ron then landed quickly on the ground below him, as he turned to face their attacker, a young man, wearing a black, long coat. This person was looking at him, and a smile was visible on his face, he seemed to be surprised, by how quick Ron had reacted to his Wind Blade spell.

At that moment, Ron knew, that, there wouldn't be any escape for him, he turned to look at his wife and child, who had just barely gotten back up on their feet, he smiled, and said, "Jena, take Matt and run!", he posed for a second, before he said the next words, as his expression turned sad, "I love you both!".
He didn't hesitate, as he turned, and jumped with incredible speed toward the Magician that had just attacked them. Jena, his wife, couldn't comprehend what he had just said, until she saw him move in to attack.
"No! No! No! R... Ron! Dammit, no, ahh! No, I have to stay calm now!", she quickly slapped her cheeks, and turned to look at her son, who didn't understand what was happening.
He asked her, in a crying voice, "Why, did... dad, say that?". It wasn't that he truly didn't understand, but that he didn't want to believe it. Jena didn't reply, she took him, and held him in her arms like he was still a baby, as she started running toward the only stable inside the village, at full speed.
She might not be that fast, but compared to the normal person, she was more than 10 times better, and this was with her holding a seven-year-old boy in her arms.
Jena ignored the screaming, and crying all around her, she even ignored her son's constant questions about his father, and focused solely, on running.
But again, not even five minutes had passed, and something else had happened, a fire bolt had been directed at them. Jena had to stop herself and avoid it, immediately after, she felt a Wind Blade coming toward her, and she dodged it.
She then calmed down, and put Matthew on the ground behind her, she looked at the attacker, which appeared to be, not one, but two, Magicians wearing long black coats.
If you looked closely at their coats, you would find a symbol drawn on the place where a heart usually is. This symbol, was also drawn in black (The reason, no one was able to see it at the moment, since it was late at night currently).
It had the shape of a crow, with a crown on it's head. This was in reference to their leader, the leader of the Black Tower, the person called, The Dark Crow!
The Dark Crow, was regarded as one of the strongest in the entire world, people like The Green Mage, and the Yellow Sun, were nothing in front of him, they didn't even merit to be mentioned alongside him, only the Emperor of the Sea, and such, could be compared to him.
The two Magicians, looked like they wouldn't leave Jena and her son, at the very least, until they were done with them. 'Hah! So it has come to this, haha! Is this what he felt like when he said it?', thought Jena to herself, as she smiled.
Matthew couldn't see his mother's expression at the moment, but he felt that something bad was going to happen in the next moment, and surely, it did. Jena, said to her son, in a calm, and beautiful voice, "Go on Matt, continue to the stable, you're such a genius, you even know how to ride a horse, don't you?".
Before she could finish speaking, she quickly held him, and jumped to the roof of the house behind her, she then jumped behind the house, and landed, then quickly said to the small boy beside her.
"Matthew, I need you to be strong now, okay, you know where Coupitia is, right? We've been there twice now, remember as good as you can, and go there, find help, and send them here, your father and I will stay and wait, okay?", his mother said, before kissing him on the forehead.
But, before she could do anything else, she heard the wall beside her crack, she pushed Matthew with full force out of the way, and said, "Run!", she then turned and intercepted the blade formed by wind.
Her right arm, which she used to block the attack, was opened in half, as blood gushed out in seconds. Matthew, who saw this, couldn't help but cry in pain, he didn't want to run, but he understood, this wasn't the moment to hesitate.
Even though he was only seven years old, he was still very smart, and understood, that if he stayed here, he would only cause his, and his mothers' death, 'Mom has a chance alone, I can't stay here!', thought the young boy, as he started running toward the stable, he screamed at the top of his lungs, as he said, "I love you!".
Jena heard her son's last words to her, she smiled, and screamed the same back, "I love you too!", then turned to look at the two Magicians, who were inside the house at the moment.
"Hah! I've never fought a Magician before, to be given two, I am very blessed, aren't I?", said Jena, as she started her fight with the two Magicians. Matthew continued running at top speed toward the stable, but he was only a small boy.
And so, his top speed wasn't that fast.
On his way there, he met some people.
