The guests were already inside the giant mansion, and so, the family of four, and after the second firework created by Matthew had faded, entered as well. The adults sat in a room of their own, as they spoke about various subjects.

Sometimes, screams of anger could be heard coming from inside there. As for the children, there were about 5 in total, Matthew and his little sister Olivia, the cousin, Dunken, and two other little girls, that were about the same age as Matthew and Dunken.

Both of them were smiling, as they said to Matthew, "So, you will be the leader of our family in the future? I think that's great, you're so strong!". Matthew smiled back at them, but, his expression turned a little serious when he heard what Dunken had to say.

"Hah! As if they would choose a bastard like him to be the family leader! He isn't a true Ankston, so, of course, it will be me who becomes the leader! I can also do magic, you know?", said the ten-year-old. He seemed a bit scared when he spoke, he was waiting to see what Matthew might do.

Matthew looked at him for a moment, before he said, "Well, well, it seems like the cat is talking! Later in the fight, we'll see if you can face me, or not! And we'll see who's the real wolf among us two!".

"Also, please stop with that bastard talk, remember! Maybe you don't know this, but I am not the first adopted child to lead the family, it has been done before, like our great grandpa! So, techniquely speaking, you're also not a true Ankston! It has been ages since a true, pure blood Ankston has lived, but still, the family name continues, does it not?".

Dunken looked at Matthew for a second, before he said in anger, "Stop lying, there is noting of the sort, where did you read this? Or was it my stupid uncle who...", but, before the boy could continue speaking, he felt a strong wind blow on him, and in the next second, he found himself on the ground.

There was a black sword in the hands of the nine-year-old before him, and it was pointed towards him, with it, came the cold, and frightening, voice of the young boy, who said to him, "This is your last warning, I better not find you saying such stuff about me, or my father anymore, you think I am afraid of harming you?".

Matthew let off a small laugh, as he continued and said, "I own three healing potions, I will burn you, then heal you, and repeat the process until I am out of healing potions, and the next time we meet, I will prepare more than 20 healing potions, so we could have way more fun playing, do you want to try?".

Dunken couldn't help but look at Matthew in complete shock, until he heard the boy in front of him ask again, "Do you understand, or not? If you don't reply to me in the next second, I will start doing as I said, and now!".

The two other girls looked on in fear at the nine-year-old, they couldn't believe what they had just heard him say, they were immediately scared by him, and both said, "We, we won't ever say anything bad to you!". Matthew gave them a warm smile, then turned to look at Dunken, who was about to piss himself from fear.

"I, I understand, so, please stop!", said the ten-year-old, a little forcefully, as it brought him, and his father, immense shame. This incident would be one of the most scary, and shameful moments of his life.

Olivia stood to the side, smiling and puffing her chest, as though she was the one who had scared the ten-year-old instead. She then gave a nod of approval to her older brother, who could only smile awkwardly at her.

Dunken didn't go to his father, after all, this would be him admitting that he couldn't handle his challenger to the title of leader. He was also very scared of what his father's reaction would be if he told him that he was scared by the bastard son. As such, no one knew about what happened here.

With that, time passed quickly, as Matthew got to know his two cousins a lot. They spoke, and even played together, but, even though Matthew invited Dunken to play, and talk with them, he only received an angry glare as a response from him. Ad such, the ten-year-old was left all alone during this time.

Soon, it was lunchtime, the whole family dined together, this whole scene, reminded Matthew of his first lunch at the Cavias family mansion, only, there were more people involved this time around.

After that, everyone was escorted to the basement, where there was a fighting arena built. It was made for training, and family tournaments. It had an invisible barrier surrounding it, making it, deemed safe for the use of magic during fights, without an accident occurring, hurting the viewers of the event.

Everyone sat in their seats, as only two entered the arena. The two, were, of course, Matthew, and Dunken. As soon as they got in position, not Nero, nor Dunken's father, were the ones to announce the start of the fight.

Instead, it was a neutral party. An old man, he was Nero's uncle, and he was already in his seventies. He was the one that had the majority of the say, in who was to be the next family leader, and now, he was going to judge the fight that was about to take place.

'Hah! I've lived a long time, but I haven't seen many people as talented, and gifted in magic, as this young lad is! Let's hope he doesn't only know Fireworks, but can also fight, I have no doubt that he will win, but, how fast will he be? That's the question I want to see answered here!', thought the old man, as he announced the beginning of the fight.

Matthew drew the One Power that was around, him, and in the next second, Dunken was on the ground, with three fireballs in front of his face. Matthew asked the boy one year older than him, "Do you give up?".

Dunken was about to say yes, when he heard his father shouting and saying, "Of course he doesn't, he can't do anything to you, those Fire bolts are useless unless he's willing to hurt you with them, so don't give up, Dunk!".

Dunken smiled when he heard his father, but, before he could move a single step from where he was, he saw the creepy, and unsettling smile that creeped on the corners of Matthew's mouth. His breathing stopped for a second, and he didn't know what to think.

Matthew remembered his first day at the orphanage, and how he was defeated by Max, because he couldn't use his only spell at the time against her. Now though, Matthew had many spells he could use, but, why reveal them, when he could just use the old, and same, Fire Bolt, spell?

Everyone watching, was shocked, to realize that Matthew unleashed one of the fireballs at Dunken, and in the next second, the ten-year-old's right arm, was lit on fire.

His screams traveled the entire giant room, and everyone heard them. His hand was burning at a fast rate, no one could have predicted that this would happen, even Nero was very shocked to see his son do this.

Matthew himself was a little shocked to see what he had just done, he thought, 'Hah! So this is what I will have to do, to get my revenge, han?'. He then heard his cousin crying and saying, "Make it stop, please make it stop!".

His mind was about to break from the pain, this was the most pain a human could experience, being burned alive, it was more terrible than anything else, after all, even a small burn could leave you awake the entire night.

One could only try to imagine the amount of pain this child was going through now. Matthew opened a small bottle in his hand, and poured it on the fire, instantly, the fire, and the pain as well, disappeared, as though everything was just a dream. Dunken lost consciousness in the next second, his mind couldn't take it anymore.

Matthew then quickly created a barrier of air around him, and a loud Boom was heard. A huge bolder was thrown at him, it had come from a spell used by Dunken's father, his eyes were burning with rage, he wanted Matthew dead, and he would see to it that it happened.

Still, he was a little shocked to see that the nine-year-old could defend against his attack, not even that, he was forced to defend against the little boy's attack in the next second, since the two fireballs that were left attacked toward him.

The uncle quickly shielded himself with an Ice shield, that melted due to the immense heat coming from the two fireballs, 'H...how, this shouldn't be? Why is the heat so strong? And Dunk had to experience being burned by this?'.

But, before he could do anything else to the young boy, he found his brother, Nero, was beside his son, looking at his brother. Nero opened his mouth, and he said, "Tomen, don't you dare make another move, because I will fight you for real, last time, I scared your back, this time, it will be way worse!".

Tomen then heard his uncle, the old man, say, "Stop this at once you two!". And so, Tomen couldn't do anything anymore. His uncle was a very strong Magician that could kill him in one move, but it was also because his uncle was supported by the entire Ankston family.

Matthew sighed, as he felt his entire body shut down, the fear he felt when he faced his uncle for a brief moment was something he had never experienced, not even the day his entire village was massacred, 'Hah! Hah! So, this is what it means to fight for your life, han?'.

The old man then said, "Young lad, what you did there was quite horrible, you shouldn't do it again! That said, you won the fight, and proved to everyone that you don't hesitate when facing enemies! Though I would like to kindly remind you, that was your cousin, not your enemy!".

"Anyway, for now, let us take a moment to relax and rest, we will continue later, is that okay with everyone? Nero? Tomen?". The two brothers nodded, even though there was an apparent hatred between them, a hatred that had only gotten worse with this particular event here.

With that, everyone left the arena, and walked the stairs up to the mansion again, everyone but the family of four. Nero looked at his son, there was a disappointed look present, Marcela looked a bit scared, so did Olivia, who didn't even approach the young boy.

Matthew sighed, and said, "Well, that was a mistake, wasn...", but before he could finish what he was saying, a slap was heard across the room. His father, Nero Ankston, the leader of the family, slapped him, as he shouted angrily at him.

"That was stupid! Not simply a mistake! Do you know how painful such a thing is? Couldn't you use another method? You know a lot of other spells that could force him to give up the fight? So why did you go with burning him? Are you mad?".

"Did something happen to your head? Why did you do that? Was it because I told you to scare him? Do you think that was what I mean when I said that? Well, you're wrong, completely, and utterly wrong!".

"Only villains use such techniques to win their fights! This was also your cousin! He is only one year older than you! Do you understand why I am angry or not?". Matthew nodded, as some tears appeared in the corner of his eyes, he said, "I do! I don't know what happened, but, I ...", again, he was cut off by his father's words, as he said, "I don't need an I, or whatever! I need a confirmation of this! Do you acknowledge that what you did was wrong?".

Matthew nodded, and answered simply with, "Yes!". Nero continued as he said, "Good! Remember what I said, don't do something of the sort again, you are striving to be a great Magician, but there are two types! There is the White Dragon! Then, there is the Dark Crow! which is the type you want to become?".

Matthew's eyes shined with determination, as he brushed his face, and said, "The White Dragon type, of course, that was a mistake, and it won't happen again!". Nero finally sighed, as he smiled and said, "Good!".
