This was the first time Matthew had seen his father angry with him. He was quite shocked at how his father looked when he became furious. Still, Matthew, weirdly, didn't feel like he was wronged by anything his father had said to him.

Most times, when children are reproached by their parents, they tend to hold some resentments towards them, even if, most of the time, their parents were only trying to educate them.

Matthew himself knew that he had done something wrong here. He had gone a little, maybe more than that, overboard. After all, he had inflicted pain that not even adults could withstand, on a child only one year older than him.

Yes, Dunken was very arrogant, and he did insult him, as well as his father. But, the more Matthew thought about the situation, he realized, that anyone would be jealous of this new boy that comes and steals everything that was yours for the taking for pretty much your entire life.

Heck, Matthew himself would act even worse than the way Dunken had acted in. He didn't think that Dunken deserved to be done in such a manner, since not even he, would deserve to be burned if the roles were reversed. This only served to make him think of himself as one of the Stars of the Black Tower. After all, that day he hated remembering, was dubbed, the Black Fire incident.

Most of those who died that day, died because of being burned alive. It even happened to the three boys that had ridden the second horse when he was trying to escape with the Manos sisters. 'I... Dammit! Why did I do that? I don't know what I was thinking! It's like, I thought of Dunken as one of my real enemies, I even thought that this was what I would be doing to the Black Tower members! The problem here is, well, Dunken isn't my mortal enemy like they are!'.

'Hah! I have to apologize to him later for this, he will, probably, be very scared of me, just like I was with the Magicians from the Black Tower! Dammit!'. Matthew then turned to look at his little sister, who was looking at him with fear in her eyes.

He tried smiling at her, but that only served to make her hide behind her mother more. Marcela looked at Matthew, then hugged him, as she said, "Your father doesn't hate you, I hope you understand why he was angry, and please, don't do something like that again!".

Matthew nodded his head heavily. His father, Nero Ankston, had gone up to try and smooth the situation a bit after what Matthew had done. And so, now, only Matthew, his mother Marcela, and his little sister, Olivia, were left here.

"Matt! You... You scared me so much! Please... Please don't do that to me! I promise that I will be good to you, so...", but, before the three-year-old girl could continue speaking, Matthew patted her head. He smiled at her, and said, "What are you talking about? Why would I do that to you?".

"Please, do continue like you are with me! I like talking with you and having fun. I am sorry for scaring you! I didn't mean to do that, I... I remembered something very bad, and thought that Dunken was that thing, I won't ever do that again, I promise!".

"Do, do you really promise?", asked Olivia, a little hesitant to approach the nine-year-old yet. Until she heard him say, "Yes! I really do promise!". Finally, she grabbed his hand, and they both made their way up. Behind them, Marcela followed.

She didn't know how to act in this kind of situation, so she just kept silent for now. She had never thought anything of the sort would happen, but it ended up happening.

'I guess, he still needs to be taught like a young boy does! I forgot that he is still this young, because of all the spells he's learned, and everything he has shown over this month!'.

'But yeah, he's still young! He needs guidance, and I will try my best to be there for him. I need to teach him about human empathy, and stuff relating to this, but I also have to be wise about it, I don't want to make him feel very bad because of this day, that could cause some very serious problems for him later down the line!'.

The three made their way to the upper floor, and joined back up with the others. Most of Matthew's uncles and aunts looked at him with fear in their eyes. They were quite scared of him, after all, he was very strong, even though he was only nine years old. And from what they saw of him, he seemed like a monster.

Still, with Nero explaining, and trying to get everyone's sympathy, by mentioning the Black Fire incident, and how Matthew's parents died that day, as well as the apology delivered by Matthew, everyone started to look at the young boy with sympathetic eyes again.

After all of that, came the second battle with Dunken. Matthew had already apologized to him, but of course, the boy wasn't happy with only that. The emotion he felt when looking at Matthew, had changed from hatered, to fear. After all, the experience he had just gone through, would be haunting him for days to come.

The second battle between the two, was proposed by Tomen, Dunken's father, and Matthew's uncle. He had started addressing Matthew as a savage. He said to everyone present, in particular, the old uncle.

"We can't let a savage like this one lead our family, especially if he doesn't know much of anything about our family history! Let's try and see which of the two knows more about where they came from! Hah! Not like that savage actually has any relation to this history!".

Matthew smiled, he wanted to say something, but he kept his silence instead. With that, the old man asked the two a question, it was a very simple one, who founded the family?

"Go into as much detail as you need!", said the old uncle, as he gestured for a butler to pass on paper to the two and pen as well.

Tomen laughed, and said, "You don't have to write it, if you don't know how to, savage!". Matthew only looked at Tomen for a second. He sneered, before he returned to focus on writing his answer.

After a short moment, the paper was collected from both participants. The old uncle, who was the judge of this test, read through the contents of both papers, as he smiled, and said, "Young Lad! The one called Matthew, would you be as kind as to explain to us what you wrote?".

Matthew nodded, cleared his throat, and said, "Yes, of course!". He gave a slight bow to everyone present in the room, before he started speaking. "The founder of this family, is called, Aron Ankston! He was a bastard son of a noble family, he gave himself a new last name after going on his own, and that is, our current family name, Ankston!".

"This was 400 years ago!".

"When He was only 15 years old, a great war was fought! a war that spans the entire continent! The Invasion War, as it is called! Aron came from the Great Empire! He was a nobody in the army that was sent over to here! He fought in the first battalion, and achieved success when he saved the captain of his group at the time!".

"That was the first time, people started really knowing who this young boy was! After that, well... I could spend more than an entire day recounting all his life, but, I will only focus on the most important things! He encountered the One Eyed Black Wolf, The Beast of Darkness! As everyone likes to refer to him".

"This was the encounter that inspired the family emblem! Unfortunately, not many details are known about this incident, the most I could find, is that Aron, our great ancestor, fought against the wolf, with a tribe of unknown origin! It was because of this battle, that the beast was sent away deep into the Cursed Forest! And was not seen for more than 200 years after! It was also this battle that made him a one eyed wolf!".

"When the kingdom of Decatrium was formed, The Ankston family was one of the pillars! With Aron being the strongest warrior of the kingdom at the time, he was said to rival a Ninth Star today! If he was still alive, that is. Some even say he reached the Emperor level! Even the King's Power, can only rival a Sixth Star. Over the ages, there still hasn't been anyone stronger than our ancestor Aron inside the kingdom!".

"In fact, there is a statue build after him in the capital city, Dupium! It is one of the things I hope to visit in the future!". Matthew stopped for a bit, to catch his breath, then, continued.

"Unfortunately, the great hero of the kingdom died in a battle against the Emperor of the Elves! The Blood Count, as everyone calls him! Aron was a champion of the sword, he used the sword that is now in the possession of the King's Power!".

With that, Matthew then gave another small bow, as he said, "And that is everything! The death of Aron Ankston is shrouded in mystery, and as such, no one really knows how the beloved hero of Decartium really died, only that it was the result of a fight against the Blood Count!".

"Let me just add this, I wasn't expecting to have Aron the Great as my ancestor! I knew of the name, as everyone does, but I didn't know the surname until I read the books! Hah! It is truly depressing that people don't know that we are the descendants of the kingdom's champion!".

The first one to clap was Nero, his father. He puffed his chest, proud in every way imaginable. He was very happy to see that his method had paid off. Soon, everyone, aside from Tomen and his son, were clapping as well.

After all, the information the young boy shared, was a lot for even the adults to remember, and this was a nine-year-old. The way he told the story, also served to make everyone feel prideful when thinking of their founder, who was also the hero of this kingdom.

He was there when the Invasion war happened on Rosendar, and he even became one of the most necessary beings in the conquest of this continent! Still, this only served to make everyone feel just as bitter, when they thought about how much the Ankston family had fallen from there.

It was now nothing but leftovers of the once strong, and influential family it was at a certain time in ages past. The old uncle smiled happily, as he said, "Great job, well done, now, I would like to vote for who should be the next leader of our family! I vote for Matthew!".

Tomen couldn't even argue back, since his son's answer only mentioned half of what Matthew said. In the next second, multiple voices chanted the same thing, "I vote for Matthew!". The same was true of his father and mother, and for some reason, even Olivia participated with a smile. Even though no one cared about her opinion at this age, after all, she was only three years old.

With this, the matter of the next family head of the Ankston family was settled, it would be the now nine-year-old, Matthew Ankston!
