Chapter 13: Chapter 12: making new friends

When I wake up, I feel some hair in my mouth. Well that was to be expected now that I am a girl, it will probably happen often now. I raise my hand to my mouth to remove the hair, but something seems wrong? 

I want to say "what?" but only make a whining noise "arf?" 

 

What was that? My eyes grow wide, the room! The room is much bigger now! Did I shrink again?

No, that is not it, the hand that should now approach my mouth is not a hand, but a paw! 

I no longer have hands, but I am a real fox now.  What is going on? Did I do something wrong? Is Mizuki a witch?  

 

Then I hear knocking on the door again, it is Mizuki who enters the room. 

She immediately glares at me while saying "what are you doing here? Whose pet are you? Mmmm...guess you are a present or something for Greya, because you definitely are a young one."

 

Then she opens the curtains quickly, blinding me instantly. She looked around, trying to find little Greya. No, also not on the balcony, not under the bed. "Where is she? Oh goddess, please be safe," she said very worriedly.

 

I expected her to explain what happened, but no such luck. She walks to me, and grabs the fur in my neck. 

I release another surprise "arf" as she carries me out of the room, only by my neck. I wiggle and try to wrestle free, just to let her know it is me, but nothing else but whining noises come from my small fox body.

 

We walk downstairs, all the way to what seems to be a room for cleaning supplies. 

She softly drops me off in a corner, "wait here you mutt", closes the door and leaves me alone. 

 

I could barely hear her say outside "Greya! where are youuuu?"  

 

"I am here you bloody.." I thought, but I couldn't finish my sentence.

 

I looked around and saw, no could smell something else here in the room. I walked unsteadily on my four paws as a real fox. Still unused to this form. I followed the scent and then, when my eyes grew accustomed to the lower light level here, I saw two mice. 

 

Two little mice sitting in the corner, shivering like their end is near. I tilt my head to try and understand, until I realise that in nature mice are on a fox's diet. 

 

I subconsciously try to calm them down, like you would with a pet, I said "shh it's alright, don't be afraid, nobody is going to harm you."  

 

Then, to my absolute surprise, they stop shivering and tilt their heads. One of them says "what did you just say? You are not going to eat us?" 

 

I am puzzled, no I am astonished. I reply "what? Can you speak?".  Now it is their turn to look surprised at me.

"Yeah, duh, we're all animals right? All animals can do that you dummy. Didn't you know or did that big monster hit you on the head while she dragged you here? Ohh, wait, you are a young one aren't you. That explains things."

 

"Yes", I say, "I am not an adult yet. Sorry, I am trying to understand. I thought you couldn't speak." 

 

"Yes dear, that much was obvious". The mice look at each other and say to themselves, "not too bright though. Would you become our friend then?"  I go all smiles, well I don't know if a fox can show a smile with all my teeth showing, but whatever "sure I do. Where..."  but I was interrupted by the door opening again. The mice quickly say "bye!" and hide in a corner.

 

"Greya, I am so sorry!" 

 

It's Mizuki. Her two brain cells finally activated, when she realised she put me here.  

She walks over to me and pulls me into her arms, tears forming in her eyes. "I am so sorry, please forgive me, I will do anything for you!"  

 

"Anything? I will remember that", I thought. 

 

I then gave her a quick nod, indicating that I understood that all will be fine. We then quickly return to the break room.

 

We are all alone here when she sits down, and puts me on her lap. 

Petting me like a real pet, but I decided to just let her do that. My revenge will be sweet, just you wait for it missy!  

 

Mizuki then continues speaking "again I am so sorry. I forgot that your ancient form is a fox form. We wolves have the same ability, but we obviously don't become foxes. Again sorry for forgetting such a basic knowledge. I will accept any punishment, Greya! But why didn't you just turn back to your Kitsune form?" 

 

Really, I am supposed to be a two year old here, and now here you are talking like an adult. Sure it was all my fault, right? 

 

Then another servant, Mika I believe she is called, enters the room, a Kitsune like me. 

 

"Mizuki, you are in some deep, deep trouble. More than you even realise!" 

 

Mizuki gulps and barely manages to say "Mika, I know, just tell me already! What have you learned?" 

 

Mika takes a deep breath and says "she here, Greya, is to be brought before his and her majesty immediately. You will bring her there and then hear your punishment." 

 

Mizuki's face pales and she prepares to go to the throne room, while I am still in her arms as a pet fox.
