In the countryside where the road is long and lonely, there was a black luxury sports car that was cruising at 30km/h, a white Mercedes following from behind.

Samantha gripped the steering wheel tightly as sweat started to form on her forehead. 'Why does this grandfather want to ride in this car?!' She has been driving very slowly since they left the mansion ten minutes ago, afraid that she would scare the old man if she drove her 'normal' speed.

Noticing how they have not gone far from his mansion, Grandfather Cho looked at Samantha. "Is there something wrong with your car? Why is it so slow?" He complained, his face a little uncomfortable with the current speed; he felt like he was riding a snail.

Samantha glanced at him and wondered if he knew that her car was a sports car. At his age, he might not be aware of how fast this thing can go. She could speed up if she wanted to but what about this grandpa on the passenger's seat? "There is nothing wrong with my car, Grandfather. But I'm afraid of driving it too fast that it might scare you."

The old man snorted, clearly amused by what she just said. "Why would I be scared? It's just a car!"

Contemplating on what to say, Samantha kept it simple instead "It's a sports car, Grandfather."

He looked at her as if he was judging her entire life. Samantha got more conscious because of his curious stare. She felt that he was scraping a part of her to reveal what's inside her head, 'Maybe I'm just overreacting.' She thought.

Grandfather Cho got intrigued and he observed the interior of the car more. Seeing how luxe the seats are and the material all around is, he was sure that it was a luxury car and since it was a two-seater vehicle, then he thought that it did look like a sports car but about it being fast, how could he know? He can only see that the center console of it looked uncomplicated and simple with only four plain-looking knobs and the shifting gear, there was not even a screen on it so he could not possibly say if it was high-tech.

"You're saying that this car is very fast?" He asked, his eyes full of curiosity.

"Well.. the top speed recorded reached about 420km/h but that's…" Thinking that he won't understand other details, she trailed off and concluded, "anyway… Yes, this is a very fast car."

"If this is a fast car just like what you are saying, why are you driving so slow? I can run faster than how you are driving right now!" He insisted, which was obviously not true knowing that he can't even walk faster much less run. Grandfather Cho just liked to exaggerate.

"Okay Grandfather, I will increase my speed." She answered and she stepped on the gas a little more, making the speed increase from 30km/h to 50km/h.

She drove like this for just a couple of minutes when Grandfather Cho called her attention again.

"How fast can you make this go?"

Confused by his question, Samantha had to clarify, "Pardon?"

Sighing heavily, he replied "I am asking you how fast can you drive this thing? What is your maximum speed?"

"Um… I can drive pretty fast… but looking at the road condition-"

"Then drive faster! Show me what you got!" Grandfather Cho suddenly dared Samantha to use her skills in driving her sports car.

She gulped upon hearing his declaration. She was very conflicted as to keep him safe, keep him alive or keep him satisfied. Which should she prioritize? She clenched her hands on the steering wheel, gripping it tighter as she was caught in a bind. 'Where are you now when I need you, Daniel?' Who else can pacify this old man when it is only him and her inside the car at the moment.

Grandfather Cho looked at her keenly as he tried to read the expression on her face but all he could see was that she looked like she was debating with herself. He chuckled inwardly upon realizing that Samantha couldn't possibly-

Before Grandfather Cho could even finish his thoughts, Samantha put more pressure on her right foot on the gas pedal making the Bugatti Chiron jerk forward as it started to accelerate. He quickly grabbed the nearest handle that his hands could reach as its speed was abruptly increasing from 50km/h to 60… 70… 80… 120… and it still kept going faster.

His eyes went wide in shock as he feared that it probably will be his last day on earth. 'GOOD GRACIOUS!! THIS THING IS FA-'

Samantha swerved to the left to change lanes as she tried to overtake the car in front of them and then she veered back to the lane on the right while Grandfather Cho's body swayed with the movement.

The Mercedes car from behind them panicked when they saw Samantha unexpectedly started to speed up at an incredible speed, leaving them behind in just a matter of seconds. Mr. Jiang who was sitting in the front seat felt his heart leap out of his body at the sight of the car flying off to a distance, even the driver was frightened by the sudden change of pace.

"F-f-follow them! Step on it!" Mr. Jiang ordered and the driver increased their speed to catch up to the blazing Chiron. "What on earth is going on?" He wondered.

"S-s-slow down!!" Grandfather Cho managed to open his mouth after a few failed attempts. And with only those two stammered words, Samantha slowly lifted her foot from the gas pedal making the car decrease its speed.

"Are you trying to get me killed?!" He frantically asked, his expression frigid and his face drained with blood.

Samantha raised a brow, seemingly confused at the moment. She wasn't even using her full speed yet. "B-but… you said-"

The old man glared at her and their eyes met. Samantha suddenly felt the inside of her car had gone chilly, the familiar feeling reminded her of how her husband is when he is mad. 'So he got that from this grandfather?'. Averting her gaze, she decided to just concentrate on the road and watch her speed.

'How could he blame me when he was the one who dared me to show him what I got? That isn't even close to what I can do and now he's mad at me? How can I even win with him?' Samantha's head was full of questions as to why this grandfather was quite difficult. 'Was he just testing me? Did I fail already?'

Grandfather Cho cleared his throat as he tried to compose himself.

She could not help but be amused by his reaction especially when she caught sight of how he looked like just earlier when she sped through the long road. The corners of her mouth curled upward making her look very charming and just in time, the old man glanced at her and saw her expression.

Without Samantha noticing, a fleeting smile appeared on Grandfather Cho's face when he thought how adorable his granddaughter-in-law is at that moment.
