A few days have passed and it was already the weekend.
Sunshine passed through the gaps of the curtains on the huge window in the master bedroom of the cliffside villa, shining on Daniel's face and waking him up.
He opened his eyes and groggily observed his surroundings until his gaze landed on Samantha's who was still sleeping with her back facing him.
And since it was a weekend, he did not have to go to the office that day, but he had decided to do some work at home instead. Just like he always does every morning, he pulled Samantha closer to him — encircling his arm on her waist and buried his face on her nape.
Smelling her had become a habit of his and since before and even now that they had been living together, he had learned the products that she used for herself. That sweet peachy smell that she emits was actually her shampoo and he loved it. It was one of the things that he would always notice on her.
He brushed her hair aside and his skin made contact with hers. She stirred when she felt his cool lips on her nape and he pressed her back more towards him to feel his warmth.
A simpered smile curled on his lips and he placed a kiss on her neck once more. Inhaling her scent as if it was his natural air that made him live.
They had been married for about two weeks now but he feels like it had been a long time already, at the same time, he also feels like it's not enough. An image flashed on his mind and he was instantly brought back to the time that he had met her in the elevator almost a year ago.
He smiled at the thought when he recalled how she had accused him of looking at her chest and being a pervert. He never thought that he would see her again but it seemed like fate had really brought them together. It was as if nature had run its course forcing them to meet under different circumstances.
At first, he had only wanted to satisfy his curiosity about her. But their relationship had progressed quite fast and truthfully, he was also scared at that time. But somehow, he just started to do things spontaneously… like it was very natural for him to care for her, to dote on her and to just shower her with unconditional love.
While he was so absorbed in his thoughts, Samantha stirred again — bringing him back to reality. "Mhmm." She sounded, feeling warm with his touch and giddy with his kiss.
Turning around to face him, she smiled coyly while her eyes were still closed. "Good morning." She whispered.
"Good morning, sweetheart." He tucked her hair behind her ear and she snuggled closer to him, wanting to feel the warmth that his body produced. This was the kind of morning that she always loved to wake up to. She yearned for simple things like this and this was enough for her to feel happy.
Feeling like her snuggle was not enough, she wrapped her arm around his torso and he embraced her even closer. "Mhmm… This is so nice. How I wish I can wake up like this forever." She remarked.
Daniel chuckled, making his chest rumble. "Me too." He agreed and then he kissed the top of her head.
The sound of a stomach growling disturbed the peaceful morning, making him laugh again. "Why are you always hungry? You make me feel like I'm not feeding you enough."
Samantha laughed with him "I can't help it… also, I think I forgot to eat dinner last night." She admitted hesitantly.
Pulling back, his brows furrowed as he stared at her intently. He had told her several times not to skip a meal especially after what happened at that time in his office. The doctor had specifically told her that it was important to eat on time, and here she was… 'forgetting' a meal. Was this even the first time? Or has this been happening?
Feeling the burning stare from the man next to her, she pursed her lips before she slowly opened her eyes.
"Why?" He asked, his voice sounded serious.
"I lost track of time, and when I came home last night I just showered and then went to bed. Sorry." She said as she recalled last night's events. She can sense that he was obviously not happy about it, especially after she promised not to skip meals.
Daniel went home later than usual last night as he was having dinner with a business client. So when he arrived home, she was already asleep, not knowing that his wife has not eaten yet and just went to sleep right away.
He clenched his jaw as he held him back. He wanted to scold her at that moment but he did not want to ruin the perfect morning — the almost perfect morning. Breathing a sigh, he closed his eyes as he tried to suppress his disapproval. Pulling away from her, he started to get off the bed but Samantha stopped him by placing her hand on his upper arm.
He turned back to her and saw her pleading eyes. "Honey… I'm sorry, are you that mad?" She asked, her voice filled with guilt.
How could he stay mad at her? He can never resist.
Lifting her chin upwards, he looked at her with his soft gaze and shook his head very lightly. He leaned down and kissed her very gently that it made her automatically close her eyes.
As he pulled back, he saw her instantly blush and his mood was again uplifted. "I was going to make breakfast for you. What do you want to eat?" He asked.
"Oh… why don't I cook for you this morning?"
"It's okay, let me do it. I want to do cook for you today." He insisted.
"Well… I'm kinda craving for some french toast?" She grinned, hooking her arms around his neck to pull him in for another kiss, in which he gladly gave.
"Sure. Anything for you. Go wash up, I'll meet you downstairs.." He said as got up and walked out of the room.
