Daniel's team had taken Lavro back with them to Gael's villa and locked him up.

Looking at the vile old man tied up in a chair, Daniel did not know whether he was happy to see him there. He sure was satisfied to know that he was not going to get out of there alive… he was sure that Lavro Yanovich was going to meet his end soon.

"Strip off his clothes and make sure he's tied securely. Don't give him anything. Even water. Let him starve." Daniel ordered just before he closed the door of the holding cell.

When he came out, he suddenly felt light headed that he had to lean his uninjured hand to the wall. Daniel groaned, the pain in his upper arm was becoming unbearable.

Back at Yanovich's safehouse, although the gunshot wound was painful, his adrenaline might still have been in effect that it did not bother him so much. Now, the pain in his upper arm was making him lethargic. He leaned his body on the wall and closed his eyes for a bit, trying to stifle the pain while gaining back his composure.

"You need to get that treated. You lost a lot of blood." Gael appeared from the side and was walking towards him. He saw blood dripping from Daniel's injured arm and thought that he must be in pain.

Without waiting for a response, Gael grabbed Daniel's free arm and draped it around his neck, helping him walk towards the bedroom. "Damn you're heavy."

Daniel could only chuckle. He was too tired to bicker with this man.

He did not know how he got into bed as he fell unconscious as soon as they entered the room. By the time that he regained consciousness, his wound was already patched up but he could feel someone's hands were on his chest. His brows scrunched up before he squinted to open his eyes. Immediately, he saw a woman with long hair whom he did not know was taking advantage of his bare torso.

Daniel's instincts kicked in and his left hand reached the woman's neck, squeezing it. "Who the hell are you?"

The stranger choked and gasped for air but Daniel's strong hand was not allowing her to move. "I'm… s-sorry-" she managed to utter while her hand tried so hard to pry his hand away.

Daniel released his grip and the woman was finally able to breathe again. "Leave!!!" He roared with a threatening glare; the woman scrambled on her feet, grabbed all the medical stuff on the side and hurriedly left the room.

Just as she did, Lucas appeared in the doorway, confused as to what happened just now. "Woah... Okay…"

"Who let that fool come inside?" Daniel got up from the bed, grabbed a clean shirt and wore it on him, careful not to put pressure on his wound. He felt disgusted that someone touched him. He thought of taking a shower but with his injured arm, it was too troublesome, making his mood even bitter.

"Sean called her to stitch you up. Did she… violate you?" Lucas had guessed what happened and could not help but laugh at his friend.

Daniel gave him a deathly glare and walked past him. He was completely pissed at what just happened. "When did you get here?" Daniel was asleep through the night and it was already the next morning so he did not know that Lucas had already arrived.

"Just a couple of hours ago. You should take it easy and eat something first." Lucas followed him from behind.

"Why is there no signal on my phone?" Daniel saw the messages from Samantha so he tried to search for a network to call her but there was nothing and his battery was about to die too.

Just then, a clap of lightning and a roar of thunder was heard from outside.

"There's a citywide black out. No electricity and no signal. We don't know when it's coming back yet."

"What bad luck." Daniel ran a hand on his hair. He had not called Samantha since yesterday and there was no way for them to even contact her. "Lucas, I need to fly out today." They already got Yanovich and he did not care what Lucas was going to do with the man, knowing that his friend won't let him live. All he wanted was to go home to his family.

"Ooh…" Lucas hissed and scrunched his face, "I'm afraid that's not possible as well. Because of the black out and heavy thunderstorm, flights going in and out of the country has been suspended. We'll have to wait…"

Pinching the bridge of his nose, Daniel was having the worst day.

"Samantha called," Lucas said, making Daniel turn to him with a questioning look on his face.

"She called just a few hours ago when I landed. She was worried about you."

"What did you tell her?"

Lucas then told him the rest of their conversation. He saw the mixture of Daniel's expression, he felt relaxed and anxious at the same time, if that even makes sense.

"Look brother, we've been waiting for this for a long time. Let's take care of this matter so that you can finally go home without worries."

Realizing that his friend was right, Daniel pulled himself together and nodded. Grabbing a folder from the nearby desk, he headed towards where Yanovich was held. "Let's go."

Inside holding room, Lavro Yanovich was sitting on a cold metal chair with only his underwear on. He was shivering as it was quite cold inside and he was possibly having a fever due to his untreated gunshot wound. He looked pale and his lips were chapped as he had not eaten since yesterday and had not even drunk anything.

The door of the room opened and in came Daniel and Lucas. "Rise and shine." Daniel patted Lavro's cheek harshly twice to wake him up.

The old man's eyes opened and he looked at Daniel coldly as he mockingly smiled at him.

"Honestly… I don't want to waste so much time. I want to see my family… I already miss my wife…" Daniel especially mocked him about his failure.

Just in time, Gael came inside with a velvet case in his hand. "Hello, Mr. Yanovich."

By then, Lavro already knew that he was Gael De Luca. He sneered as he looked at the three of them in front of him. These young men were working together to get to him. "You…"

"Let's start shall we?" Daniel flexed his neck until he heard cracking sounds before he continued. "Don't worry, I won't torture you brutally… I'm not like you nor your son." He shrugged. "Well… at least not anymore."

He opened the velvet case that Gael was holding and revealed the beautiful diamond necklace.

Lavro's eyes instantly got hooked to it and he became nervous. "That's… That's…"

"Yep." Daniel placed the necklace on the hard table before Yanovich and signaled one of the men forward. He only needed to nod and the man raised his arms high up before smashing the necklace with a large metal mallet.

"Nooooo!!!" Yanovich screamed but he was too late. The necklace was crushed into pieces. The little diamonds crushed and 24k gold chain was deformed. Though the big diamond wasn't destroyed, the whole necklace was ruined.

Yanovich felt that his heart was also crushed. That was his wife's and the most precious thing that he had been looking for years. He had only seen it for a few seconds before it was destroyed in front of him. He choked up, sobbing as he looked at the once beautiful piece of necklace. He cried but his tears did not move the three men who were looking at him.

When Lavro thought that it was all over, his attention was again called.

"Alright… now that it's out of the way…" Daniel dragged a chair and sat on it, facing the vile old man. Let's talk about… Mr. John Wei."

The moment that he heard Daniel speak of this name, Lavro's expression became dark.
