Daniel noticed the change in Lavro Yanovich' expression but he did not comment on it. He opened the folder and pretended to read lazily – it was the title of the safe house that Yanovich and his men were using.

"One thing I understand is that... in the underworld, it's not impossible to own properties using other names because technically if you're not from this country, you can't own properties here and put it under your name."

Yanovich formed beads of sweat on his forehead. He already knew where it was going but he kept his mouth shut, afraid that what he will say will make it worse.

"My people know that I'm meticulous, so I searched… And it was actually not that hard to trace. Although at first, I wondered – why in the world would an already dead woman from this country who isn't related to you by blood buy properties and lands?"

Daniel formed a dangerous smile as he glanced at Lavro Yanovich. The old man looked horrible when his pale face turned dark. His breathing hastened as he glared straight at Daniel being cocky. He loathed the young man for being so smart and even using this information against him.

Except... Daniel wasn't going to use it against him in exchange for something else. He merely wanted Lavro to suffer. "It wasn't until I found out that the dead woman had a son named John Wei. That's him... Am I right?"

"Don't you dare lay a hand on him! You son of a b*tch!" Yanovich scowled. He was getting red because of anger, shaking like a mad man.

Daniel chuckled at his reaction. Tilting his head, the smile on his face disappeared and was replaced by a murderous aura that emanated from his entire being. Even Lucas had to gulp when he felt the chill from his friend's dangerous glare. 'How could Daniel switch from one who's smiling to someone who looked like he was about to kill in a second?'

"You don't want me to touch your boy toy yet you can poison my wife?"

Before Lavro could react Lucas placed his big and strong hand at the back of Lavro's head and harshly smashed it down, hitting the edge of the table. The cut bled right away and Lavro Yanovich groaned in pain.

When Lavro regained his sight and looked at the man in front of him, Daniel only shrugged. "I did say I'm not brutal anymore but I didn't say it's the same for them."

Blood trickled down Lavro Yanovich's face. "Don't touch him. Let him go… he doesn't have anything to do with what I did!!!"

"Hmmm… you see, that's where I think it's unfair. Whatever happened in the past, it was your son who killed our brother. And then… you wanted to kill my wife... But she also didn't have anything to do with what I did, did she?" Standing up from his seat, Daniel signaled his men to open the door.

"Where are you taking me?" A man's voice resounded by the door. There was a sack on his head, covering his face but Lavro Yanovich knew very well who it was when he heard his voice.

"John…" Lavro's eyes went wide, he was already scared. "Don't hurt him! Please!"

"Lavro?" John Wei replied when he recognized the voice. "Lavro, what's happening?!"

"Ahh… too bad your reunion doesn't involve a bottle of wine and a huge bed to fool around on huh?" Daniel sneered as he walked away, making Gael and Lucas snicker. There were a bunch of pictures laid on the table in front of Lavro, it was him and John Wei coming in and out of the hotel where they usually stayed.

"If you ever touch even one strand of his hair, I will make you pay!" Lavro roared but Daniel only returned his anger with a smirk.

"You'll make me pay? And how are you going to do that exactly?" Right after Daniel spoke, Gael broke John Wei's arm, twisting it until they heard a crack. The man broke out a cry and nearly collapsed.

"Stooooooop!!! Please stop!" The old man started crying. He couldn't bear to see John being hurt and so just like that, he pleaded. "Please… Daniel, what do you want me to do for you to let him go? Do you want me to say sorry?"

"Sorry? After harming my wife… you want to say sorry?" Daniel walked closer until he was in front of Lavro again. "Sorry doesn't fix everything, old man."

"I'm Daniel Cho and I'm no saint," he assured before turning around and exited the room, Gael following him from behind.

When the door closed behind them, John Wei's screams resounded along with Lavro's cries and pleads.

Lucas personally sought the torture of the man in front of Lavro. He wanted the old man to suffer before he kills him. Nothing was more painful to see your loved one suffer in front of you while you're helpless and that's what they wanted him to feel.

Daniel wasn't the kind of man who would involve an innocent person. However, John Wei wasn't innocent at all because he was actually the one in charge of one of Lavro's dirty businesses – human trafficking and prostitution.

So actually taking this man down didn't make him feel bad.

Lucas and Sean did what they had to do and by the end of the day, two dead bodies were carried out of the mansion.

Meanwhile, Daniel stayed inside the room the whole time after taking a long, warm shower. And when nightfall came, he became even more anxious that he still could not contact Samantha. The house was brightly lit with the help of a generator but there still wasn't any cellular network because of the thunderstorm outside.

Seeing Gael by the terrace, Daniel decided to go and join him, bringing a bottle of whiskey. A part of him still did not like the guy but he was able to tolerate him. Also because he was such a huge help during the entire process that Daniel respected Gael.

"Is this you warming up to me?" Gael said with a smirk on his face.

"As long as you stay away from my wife, we're good," Daniel replied, making Gael chuckle. The two of them clinked their glasses. "Thank you. I owe you one… if you ever need a favor in the future, I will extend help as long as it's within my capabilities."

"I didn't intend to ask for anything in return. After all, Samantha and I already had that agreement… I was merely doing my end of the bargain but thank you though. I'll make sure to use your offer."

Daniel could only shake his head and look out the view in front of them. The mansion was on top of a mountain and so they were overlooking the city lights below. Despite the rain, it was still a beautiful scene.

"Looks like we'll be able to fly in a few hours." Lucas and Sean joined them on the terrace. The rain was already starting to calm down.

"How was it?" Daniel asked in which Lucas answered, "It's been taken care of. The women are being treated and are on their way to their home country along with the other victims."

Sighing, Daniel nodded. Everything seemed to be over...

The four of them enjoyed the glasses in their hands quietly.

"I need to see my wife and son," Daniel mumbled before he took a sip from his glass.

"I need to get back home." Gael and Lucas uttered the same thoughts.

"And I… need to get laid." Sean shook his head helplessly.

"Mhmm."

"Boss, I just received a message. We've been given clearance to fly out in an hour." Lucas' subordinate informed.

Nodding, Lucas looked at the rest of them and placed the glass on the table. "Alright then.. Men, let's pack our things and I'll see you downstairs."
