"What about Devyn? I have always been curious about how you knew each other back then?" Samantha asked while playing the sand on her toes.
"She's sort of... the doctor for those in the underworld. Lucas' uncle was heavily wounded back then but because of his identity, he couldn't go to the hospital. She nursed him back to health. I met her when Lucas introduced his real identity to me."
Daniel continued to tell her about what happened in Country C with Gael, Lucas, and Sean and how Lavro Yanovich got captured and died.
Samantha was in a daze after listening to everything. She didn't like hearing about violence but for once, she was quite satisfied with how things turned out. As long as they were finally safe and that no one was coming after them, that is all that Samantha wished for.
"You okay?" Daniel asked when he noticed that she became quiet. He brushed the hair away from her face and tucked it behind her ear. His hand landed on her back and he stroked her gently, waiting for her to say something.
Samantha formed a sweet smile and turned to look at Daniel. "I'm just happy. I can't believe that it's finally over. It feels… surreal."
Daniel cupped her face and gently pulled her chin towards him so that he could place a tender kiss on her soft lips. When they broke apart, he pulled her up and led her towards their villa.
The walk was not very far. It took them only three minutes until they arrived in front of the gate.
Entering their villa, Samantha looked around and thought that the place still looked the same. "It feels weird to be back here yet I feel very comfortable."
"Yeah… it's been a while." Daniel responded, looking around the empty house. "I only had helpers come here every few weeks to clean the place."
"You moved out?"
Nodding, Daniel started walking towards the balcony that was overlooking the sea. "I couldn't live here alone, Samantha. It felt so empty without you in it. This is our home and it's just sad living here all by myself. So… I went back to the penthouse."
Feeling bad, Samantha walked up to him and clung her arm with his. She didn't say anything because she felt the same too. The whole time she was away and stayed in Country A, she still felt incomplete even though she was with her family. It was only when she and Daniel met again that the hole in her heart was filled.
The breeze was cool and the weather was just right. The couple shared a moment of silence just enjoying the peace around them.
"Samantha…" Daniel was looking far ahead into the sea when he called her.
"Yes?" Samantha saw him swallow before he turned to face her. He raised a warm hand and placed them on one side of her face. She leaned her cheek onto it and closed her eyes for just a few seconds, feeling the comfortable warmth that he was giving her before she looked at him again.
"I love you, Samantha Kim." There was a prick in Daniel's heart when he said those words, causing his eyes to become misty.
His loving gaze bore into her, a mixture of waves of love and guilt flooding his senses. The overwhelming feeling that he had at that moment was something that he had never felt before. Daniel was an almighty and ruthless businessman but during that time, he was but a man who loved the woman before him so much that he was willing to do anything… anything in the world for her.
"I'm so sorry I put you through all of it. I would never forgive myself if something happened to you… Will you forgive me?" He looked at her sincerely and waited for her to say something.
Samantha smiled and reached her hand out to wiped the tear that just rolled out of his eye; he didn't even know that he was already teary. She shook her head, "There's nothing to forgive, my love. It's not even your fault and I'm okay… I still love you regardless of what happened. I loved you then… and I love you still." She tiptoed and gave him a kiss.
"Samantha…"
The two of them continued to look at each other. The soft waves of the water, the fluttering of the leaves nearby and the birds chirping were their background music.
"Marry me again. Be my wife… Let's be a family again."
Samantha let out a soft chuckle when she heard him. She could see how serious he was and she couldn't help but feel elated to hear his words. She also wanted to be with him... she had been looking forward to that day.
"I don't want to be single. I want to be with you… and our son Ashton. I want you to marry me. Please be my wife again."
"Daniel…" She beamed.
"Don't you want to get married anymore?"
"What are you talking about? Stop being silly… Yes! Of course, I want to!" Samantha hurriedly answered.
"Are you sure? You're not… forced?" He knitted his brows and stared at her, his expression was serious.
Samantha laughed beautifully. Placing her arms around his neck, she pulled him in for another kiss. "Yes, Mr. Daniel Cho. I will marry you. Happy?"
The corner of Daniel's lips curled upward, revealing his gorgeous smile. He pulled her even closer and pressed his lips on hers, his tongue invading her mouth for a deeper kiss before he pulled back. "Yes," he said.
"We already got married once… it's just on paper but-"
"Samantha, I want to get married to you and not just on paper. Let's have a wedding. Let's tell the whole world! I wanted to give that to you but we didn't get a chance before. You deserve a wedding… and I'm going to give you the best wedding that your heart desires."
Giving in, she widened her smile and nodded, "Fine.. let's have a wedding this time. I don't need a big one… I just want you in it and I'm good."
"We can have it anywhere you want. In a church, on the streets, under the water, on top of the tallest building, on the mountains. Heck, I'll even have a skydiving wedding with you if that's what you want!"
"You're crazy!" Samantha slapped his chest playfully. "Although the last one is very interesting… I wonder how our guests would feel about an in-the-air entourage…" She pretended to think.
Amused, Daniel lifted Samantha over his shoulder — she yelped in surprise. "Ah! What are you doing?" She was shocked that he still managed to lift and carry her using only his good arm.
"We're consummating our marriage." He spoke as he sprinted up the stairs, bringing her to their bedroom. God, Daniel Cho is so strong.
"But we're not-"
"You dare to complain?" Daniel spanked her bum before he gently placed her on the bed. "Who cares what goes first? You surely did not complain a few nights ago when you shouted my name."
Samantha laughed and sat up on the bed. "But Daniel, you're injured."
Leaning in, Daniel started kissing and licking her neck. "Baby, I don't even need arms to do what I want to do to you."
Smiling, Samantha pulled away and made him lay in the middle of the bed before she climbed on top of him, her legs straddling on either side. Clicking her tongue, Samantha said, "Honey, you should let your wife please you."
"Oooh... I like this more." Daniel formed a devilish smirk as he ran his hand up and down her thigh.
"Only like? Hmmm…" Pulling her top over her head, Samantha was half-naked above Daniel. "Let's see about that," she said before diving in for a kiss.
The couple was in their own little world for the rest of the day, not caring about anything else but their own moans – their oohs and ahhs and their mindblowing carnal pleasures. ♥
