After meeting with Philip and Logan, Daniel decided to go home to his son. Though he was both worried and anxious, he felt that being with Ashton was going to help him feel saner. It was hard for them to figure out who would've wanted to harm Samantha now that they had already gotten rid of the two people. Daniel's heart was throbbing, extremely fearful of what will happen to her.
Samantha didn't tell him about anything unusual recently too so he couldn't suspect anyone. The only person that she had problems with, was Nancy and Daniel who has not heard any news about that person for a long time.
Opening the door to Samantha's room, he found Seo Joon who had just laid Ashton in the crib.
"He woke up?" Daniel asked softly, afraid to disturb his son's sleep.
Nodding, Seo Joon tucked his nephew nicely before turning to Daniel, "I think he's missing his mom. Any news?"
Daniel nodded his head towards the door, signaling Seo Joon to leave the room with him so that they could speak freely.
"She's been kidnapped, Joon." Daniel spilled the beans with a mixture of anger and worry.
"What?! Why? Who would do something like this to her?" Seo Joon's expression turned dark. "Daniel, I swear, if this is one of your-"
"I thought the same too, but after thinking it through, I don't think this is related to me at all."
"What are you saying?"
Running a hand on his face, he looked at Seo Joon in the eyes. "Did Samantha tell you anything recently? Anything at all."
"No, I don't think so… We haven't really talked much recently, I mean just random stuff about Ash's upcoming birthday… my engagement. Ummm… she mentioned something about Nancy and also Becca's new project too…" Seo Joon started recalling about the topics that they had talked about.
"Wait... did you say Nancy?" Daniel crossed his arms and probed again. "Is this the same Nancy that gave her troubles before?"
Seo Joon nodded, he shrugged his shoulders as he recalled what Samantha told him. "They bumped into each other while your dad was in the hospital, you know that time while you were overseas? That was a few weeks ago. She said that she was still the same Nancy but Samantha suspected that she was pregnant and was trying to hide it, probably because of her profession."
"And did they see each other after that?" Daniel asked curiously, trying to make a good sense of what was happening.
"Not that I know of. Sam didn't tell me anything so I'm not sure. You know she's mostly at home since she came back so there's a very little chance that they saw each other again. Why are you asking?"
Daniel shook his head. "I just couldn't think of any other possibilities. That woman is the only one who has always been envious about Samantha."
"Do you really think that she could do that?" Seo Joon thought about it and although he remembered that Nancy was a very mean woman, he didn't think that she had the ability to kidnap someone.
"I don't know her enough but whoever is responsible for this, they are surely brave to think they can touch my bottom line." Daniel stared into the wall, his eyes were dark and his cold demeanor showing off to Seo Joon.
It's rare for Joon to see Daniel like this but he was not the least bit surprised. He was Samantha's brother, after all, so he was also enraged just thinking about it.
…
Meanwhile, at the small room where Samantha was kept, Nancy had just gone back inside when Samantha was trying to think of ways on how to escape.
"I gotta admire your cleverness, Samantha Kim. Even while you're here, you still managed to create trouble for me. Who else is with you huh?" Nancy crossed her arms as she looked down at Samantha.
"Wow. There really is something wrong with your brain. You already have me locked up in here and you still think I'm the one messing with you? I wonder how you've passed college." Samantha let out an unrestrained laugh. "Did you sleep your way through graduation?"
"You have a sharp tongue, Samantha." Nancy clenched her hands so hard when Samantha pushed her buttons again. She was already smart in academics but because she wanted to gain more favoritism, she seduced her college professors in exchange for more favors.
"After all these years, do you still think that you can get Andrew? You were gone for two years and now that you're back, did you expect him to still follow you around? I'm pregnant with his child! We're already a family so there's no way for you to meddle in anymore!"
Samantha covered her mouth when she felt the urge to vomit upon hearing the words that Nancy was saying. She laughed some more when she realized how ridiculous all this has been. "Oh my lord, Nancy… what the hell am I going to do with Andrew? Did you honestly think that he's a god or something? He certainly can't even hold a candle next to my husband. Ahh… this is laughable. Look... Andrew's an as*hole and you're a b*tch. You are perfectly a match made in heaven. How would I ever compare to you? I can't win."
"How dare you!" Her words threw Nancy off that the later rushed forward for the second time and slapped Samantha. However, her slap did not land as her hand was blocked.
"Do you think I will just let you slap me? Think again!" Samantha pushed her back. Nancy almost tripped but was able to balance herself straight.
"You little-"
"Have you ever thought of the possibility that it could be just someone close to you?" Samantha spoke which made Nancy stop in her tracks.
"What are you trying to say?" Nancy glowered, her hand itching to slap Samantha again.
"Did I catch your attention? You really didn't think this through, did you?" Scoffing, Samantha gave a wicked smile, "Look around you, Nancy. I'm sure I'm not the only one who doesn't like you. The only difference between me and them is that I don't have time for you. I haven't even thought about you for the past years and you accuse me of threatening you? I don't have the luxury to mind you."
Nancy looked at Samantha's fake smile. "You're just bluffing! Did you think if you divert my attention or influence my mind that I will release you from here? You will rot in here!" She did not like Samantha's tone of voice that was mocking her.. And what was she saying that it might be someone close to her? She certainly did not have someone like that! Nancy refused to believe it.
