"Yabai! Hontoni yabai! Watashi wa ima made shiranakatta." Serina stated with agitated expression. The anxiety was reflecting her on face as she tried her best to calm herself.
Natalya looked at Serina with confused look. She didn't understand a single thing that Serina spoke of. She could understand if it was English like their normal way of conversation but right now, she has no knowledge of the language she was using. "What are you talking about. I don't understand you." Natalya questioned when they arrived in Serina's room. Instead of having dinner, the two of directly went upstairs.
"How did you know he's a vampire?" Serina questioned instead of answering Natalya's inquiry.
"I've been seeing lots of them and I just know one when I meet one. Also, I saw how his eyes change colors."
"Why didn't I feel anything when he's around me?"
"Maybe because you thought he was nice?"
"Me?"
"Yeah. You."
"How could – well, what does my opinion has to do with his horrible nature?"
Natalya pulled Serina to sit on the couch and looked around to make sure that all windows and the door were locked properly. "Vampires can charm their victims. If you believe that he's a good person, no matter what others tell you, you'd think he's a good person. However, if someone tells you he's not you'd also hesitate a little. And when you are given a little more push, it will be easy to break your beliefs in him."
"Oh. No wonder." Serina muttered softly. She argued with Nicholas about this matter, telling him that Damon was a good person. She would never have thought of the possibility of Damon being a vampire. "Wait. We're saying that he's dangerous because he's a vampire but he has never done anything to me."
"So, are you going to wait for him to do something bad to you before you avoid him?"
Serina was hit dumb with these words. "I think I had the same conversation with Nicholas. Also, wouldn't he suspect if I start avoiding him?"
"It's up to you. I can feel that you are powerful but I don't know if you are powerful than him."
Although Serina just thought of how dangerous Damon was, she was also thrilled after meeting a vampire for the very first time. And that person turned out to be her friend, if not acquaintance.
That night, they asked the hotel staff to send them dinner again. They didn't dare go out of their room just to make sure that they'll be safe and sound.
The next morning, Serina woke up early. She rummaged her suitcase for clothes to wear since she will be meeting with Nicholas. She didn't know why but she was really looking forward to see him once again. She wore a white pencil skirt with blue feathers print on it, paired with a sky blue crop top and a pair low-heeled sandals. She made sure to wear the necklace that Nicholas gave her, double check her look in front of the mirror and then, she grabbed her sling bag and shades before going out of her room.
'I'm picking up my close friend. I'll see you later.' She told Natalya through mind link. The other girl received her message and went outside, hoping to see her before she left but she only saw Serina's leaving figure.
'A friend? Why do you have to dress up in meeting your friend?'
'I'm not.' Serina denied and bit her lower lip. 'I'll talk to you later. Bye.' She instantly put up her barrier and went out of the hotel.
Nicholas told her the estimate time of his arrival if there's no delay in his flight and so far, Serina didn't receive a message from him and she was hoping that he'd arrive soon.
At the airport, Nicholas just got off the plane and was walking down to the gate terminal in order to get his suitcase. He was traveling alone this time but he wasn't feeling lonely at all. In fact, he was happy because he can have more alone time with Serina.
As he picked up his suitcase, he also received a call from Serina. "I'm getting my stuff. I'll be heading out soon."
"Okay. You'll find me at the exit."
"You didn't get inside the airport?"
"It's a hassle to get inside. Just be quick."
"O-okay. Give me a sec. You don't have to drop the call so I can ask you questions if needed."
"Heh! You just want to hear my voice, don't you?" Serina teased him just to ease her nervousness but she blushed even more when she heard his answer.
"That's one of the reasons." Nicholas admitted without getting embarrassed. "Why are you getting silent?"
"Ha? Ah. No, nothing. I thought I saw someone familiar." She said but it was just a mere excuse.
"It didn't? Too bad. Oh! You look beautiful by the way."
'Huh?' Serina has gone silent and looked around. Few meters from her, Nicholas was standing handsomely with his things. He was looking at her with the sweetest smile she has ever seen on his lips. 'He's making me look stupid.' Serina thought while telling herself to calm down at the same time.
Nicholas ended the call and walked towards her. "What now? Are you star struck that you can't say a thing?"
"No way in hell. I just thought you look stupid with that smile of yours."
"It's not easy to charm you, huh. Other girls have fallen for that smile."
"Whatever."
Nicholas just laughed and softly caressed Serina's head. "Let's go. I have booked a room in the same hotel that you are staying."
"How long will you be staying here?"
"I'm given two months if I can't deal with the things that my father asked me to, I'd have to go back to our city."
Serina led Nicholas to the taxi's waiting area and soon, they found a taxi they can board. She was already familiar with the way and she wasn't afraid because she was with Nicholas. The two of them chatted on their way, not having any moment of awkwardness at all. It felt like they've known each other for a long time but in truth, they just knew each other for almost two years.
When they arrived at the hotel, Serina was getting out of the taxi happily but when she turned around, she saw someone at the entrance, someone she didn't want to see at the moment. "Damon." She whispered. Her word was caught by the two people with sensitive hearing and the two people looked at her. Beside her was Nicholas and not far from them was Damon du Lac.
"What are you doing here?" Nicholas asked, displeased at the sight of seeing a vampire. He would never forget that one of these scarlet-eyed beings tried to harm Serina over a year ago. He would never forgive them.
"My father heard that you are coming over. He asked me to see you." Damon answered. There was a smile on his lips that made him look handsome but at the same time, it made Serina feel even more danger coming from him.
"You have seen me now. You can go back and report to your father. I still want to spend quality time with my girlfriend."
Damon looked at Serina and Serina looked at Nicholas. She never expected that he'd voice a lie with a straight face. "Alright. I'll see you around." Damon gave them a faint smile and left.
When he was gone, Serina put a little distance between her and Nicholas while crossing her arms over her chest. "That was rude. Also, I am not your girlfriend. What if he believes your words?"
"That's a lot better if he believes everything I said." Nicholas retorted as he pulled his suitcase and went inside the hotel first. Serina was left with no choice but to follow him. "I booked a room here yesterday." He told the receptionist. He processed everything to check in while Serina waited for him on the side.
When he received his card key, Serina took it from him and frowned. "Your room is right next to mine."
"Of course." Nicholas answered.
These two words made Serina wonder what he meant but she no longer asks thinking that he's probably tired from the flight. The two of them went upstairs and Serina stopped at the door of her room. "If you need anything, just let me know. I'll be in my room."
"Thanks. I'll just take a rest for a while. Let's have lunch together later."
"Hn." she watched Nicholas got inside his room before she pressed her own card to the lock system of her door. She was about to get inside when the room across hers opened and Natalya came out with a wide teasing smile. 'What are you grinning for?' she asked mentally, not letting anyone hear their conversation at all.
'He's the one who gave you your necklace?'
'Yeah." Serina answered and suddenly her eyes lip up. 'I'd love to think he's a werewolf but there's just no way.'
'You denied the same thing about Damon being a vampire but looked what happened?'
This questioned rendered her speechless but at the same time, she was preparing herself mentally in case Nicholas would turn out to be a werewolf. 'If…if and only if…he turns out to be a werewolf…he will look for his mate, right?'
