Nicholas confirmed that he wasn't planning to go back to France at the moment but they will meet again soon. To make that happen, Serina had no single clue about it. She went to eat her lunch with Lambert and went back to class in the afternoon. After getting a phone call from Nicholas, she felt like she had a boost of energy and could even last three days without getting some sleep.
"You seemed happy. Is it because of the phone call?" Lambert whispered while looking at the woman beside him.
"Part of." Serina whispered back. "Anyway, do you have anything you'd like to do later on after the class? I can help you with some parts of the assignments before going back to the dorm."
"O-okay. Let's hit up the library before going back to the dorm."
She was trying her best to avoid making contact with him at the dorm as much as possible. She didn't want to get herself in a troublesome situation just in case Lambert hears some weird noise coming from her room. It would be a difficult to explain if he finds out about Elder Alina who appears and disappears in her room without any warning.
Time passed by quickly and when she was fully recovered, Elder Alina came to visit her again. It's time to continue with the ritual of lifting the curse to make sure that Brenna's children will live.
"Are you ready?"
"Yes, Elder Alina. I'm all set." Serina answered and went to sleep. When she opened her eyes and got out of her bed, she found that she was teleported to this unknown place again. Serina was happy when she found out about this and voluntarily took a step out and looked around. She walked toward the hidden village of the dragon tribe as well without Elder Alina's help.
Unlike before, the people didn't hate her as much. Some were even smiling genuinely at her. If not smiling, they were just expressionless but not as cold as they were when she first arrived.
When walked to the huge tree house again and found Brenna lying on bed. Last time, she was asleep and had no clue at all. This time, she's awake and was waiting for Serina to arrive. "Hi. How are you feeling?" Serina asked as she got inside and sat on the chair beside the bed.
"I'm feeling a little bit better. Thank you."
"I'm glad to know that. Are you ready for this session?"
"I'm fine. We can start whenever you are."
As usual, Serina asked for candles and herbs once again. She needed them for the ritual. Just like how she did it the first time, Serina performed the task rather smoothly. The woman fell asleep once again as Serina started her ritual. This time, she was able to get rid a lot of curses from the woman.
On her arm, the tattoo grew bigger as well with additional part being added on it.
Meanwhile, back in the city, Nicholas was going out to patrol again. Lately, there were reports that more hunters have come to their territories and have attacked a lot of wild animals. They have told the government about this already to make a slogan about this incident and make sure that people obey the law.
Although the government promised to help them, Nicholas and Gregory decided to take this job to look after the pack. They cannot let any man discover the fact that werewolves live in the Vallardi estate. Or else, it will be the end of them all.
'This scent is very familiar.' Gregory stated as they patrolled around the perimeter. He smelled the bushes around and wheezed a little from the scent.
'It's the scent of the man who came here over a year ago.' Nicholas stated calmly through their mind link.
'The guy who shot you?'
'Yes. And now, he came back with more of his kinds.' Coldness was coating his words as he walked towards where the wolves were staying. He hasn't known about the wolves here and the werewolves but I can feel that this man has a very keen sense. Or maybe he honed this skill from all the hunting he did in his life. He has just a great sense of knowing where the killing intent was coming from.
'We have to solve this as soon as possible.' Gregory stated after he listened to all the things that Nicholas has said. They circled the place once more and found traces of human activities nearby. 'Look at those men.' Gregory said through their mind link. 'They're actually camping here.'
'We have to ask our wolves to come to our dwellings at the moment. I am pretty sure that they won't come to our town because they don't want to be found.'
'Let's do that. Let's all come back here tomorrow to retaliate against them.'
'Sure thing.'
Nicholas and Gregory left the bushes where the two of them hid together. This didn't escape the keen observation of the hunters. They didn't know what was watching them but they felt eyes with killing intent on them.
"Man, are you sure about these werewolves and stuff that you have searched about?"
"Of course! I have studied these things ever since I came home one time over a year ago. I know that I've seen a huge werewolf that time."
"Maybe you've seen a huge wolf. There's no such thing as werewolf in this world."
"Believe me. You will see them as well soon."
The other hunters were doubting the man that Nicholas has let go over a year ago. They were all laughing at him but as long as they can kill real wolves instead, or probably get an elk or a moose, they wouldn't mind putting up with his nonsense at all.
Back in the dragon village, Serina just finished the ritual with great focus. Unlike before wherein she collapsed from using too much force, this time she was just barely hanging but was still able to talk with the other people as well as to Elder Alina. She didn't have to be carried home unconscious. However, just like her previous visit, Serina had to be asleep once she's being transported back. It's to make sure that she won't retain any memories of coming in and coming out of their hide out.
This wasn't really Elder Alina's intention but this was what Brittislava asked. To make sure that Serina will be able to live a normal life soon, she didn't want her to know much about the dragon's hide out or it's location. It's more than enough for her to know that people there will be bowing their head towards her once she completed her quest.
Serina woke up and found herself back in the dorm. The dawn was just breaking but she didn't have class this time so, she wasn't the least bit worried. She went back to sleep to get as much recovered energy as she could since she has other plans for her day.
In the afternoon, Serina woke up with a little more vigor. She washed herself and walked out of her dorm. She can go out of the campus today so, she wanted to meet with Natalya outside. She wanted to just have a little chit-chat time with her.
"Are you going out?" Jennifer asked when she met Serina the hallway.
"Yes. I'm going to meet my friend outside. How about you guys? Don't you have plans to come out?"
"We will also go out later on. We will just buy some school supplies." Jennifer answered.
"That's good to know. Please be careful always. If you are in trouble, don't hesitate to call me."
"Thank you, Rina."
"You're welcome. I got to go now. Bye. Serina waved her hands at her school mate who was also her school mate from her previous school which was Royale Academy.
She met with Natalya at one of the famous coffee shops around the city and just bought some coffee to make sure that her system will be up and about. She didn't want to appear sleepy in front of her friend later on.
Serina was just minding her own business when someone came and sat on the chair across her. Last time Nicholas called, she lied to him. She told him that she met with Damon a few times with lots of people but in truth, they always meet like this. Damon would just come and turn up when she least expected him to. And when someone comes, he would also leave as if he was in a hurry to do something.
Although Serina was afraid of him, she never showed it in front of him. She didn't want to think that this vampire has an upper hand against her. Also, ever since she recognized Nicholas as one of the vampires, she's been very keen and observant with her surroundings. She knew which person was a vampire and which one was not. She can also tell if that vampire was strong or not. And every single time she meets with Damon, her mind was screaming that this guy was someone that she couldn't provoke.
"Hi, Rina. It's been a while since we've got the chance to talk like this." Damon commented while looking at her straight in the eyes. The smile of his lips was very charming and he looked really handsome but Serina only smiled and nothing else. 'My charm doesn't work on her again..' Damon told himself in irritation.
