Serina and Natalya checked in to the nearest hotel and brought the two children and the lady with them. Many people were looking at them but seeing that they were comforting the children, these people thought that they were just good Samaritans.

"Everything's alright. Everything's fine. That man will not be able to find you here." Serina stated a little bit louder which was to let people see that she's helping these kids and the lady. It would be troublesome if people think she's a human trafficker.

The moment Natalya finished everything for the hotel check-in, they went upstairs to find their room. Serina bathed the two children which were about 8-10 years old. They were so small and so thin. She could even see bones protruding close to their skin. They're all bones and skin – no flesh if she may say.

"Are you alright?" Natalya asked the woman who was still looking shocked from what happened.

'I'm fine.' She answered directly to Natalya's mind link.

'You can't speak?'

'I can't. My voice was taken away by a vampire.'

'Huh? They can do that, too?'

'They can do anything I guess. But they can still track me using my psychic power.'

'Are the children like you? Wait are you human or half human?'

'As far as I know, I'm human. Those two children are human, too. They found me when I was thrown away.'

'You have no family?'

'The village where I lived was attacked by vampires. Everyone died. When they learned I have psychic powers, they took me and brought me to this place. They took away my voice after some kind of ritual and discarded me when I have no use. These children are the ones who taught me to beg for money or food but we always encountered vampires instead. We've been running several days now and we haven't had any food as well. I'm felt so sorry for them but I couldn't do anything either.'

'It's alright. I'll try my best to help you. I'm Natalya Dalka and the other woman who's with me is Serina Wentworth.' Natalya stated. 'How about you, what's your name?'

'Corrine Sanders.'

'And the children?'

'They said that they don't have names and just called themselves Sylvie and Peter. They got it from people who walked past them.'

By the time they finished talking and have gathered enough information from each other, Serina was done bathing the children, too.

"We don't have clothes for you yet so, just wear these bathrobes for now." Serina stated and gave the two bathrobes to the children, and turned to the pretty lady that they just saved. "Why don't you take a bath as well? We can buy clothes tomorrow so you can change into something."

'Okay.' She answered mentally.

Once she's inside the bathroom, Natalya pulled Serina to the side and talked to her. She shared to her the information she got and how vampires attacked the human dwellings.

"How can that be? Do you think Damon is aware of all these?"

"Are you really trusting that vampire? He didn't even know that you know his identity. He might attack you one day." Natalya retorted which silences Serina. "For now, the children are afraid of the vampires, we have to make sure that their memories will be altered to the first time they saw one."

"I get that. However, I'm quite busy with some matters at hand. Can you do it in my behalf? I think I have enough money that my father gave me. We can use this to help them."

"I have some savings as well. Let's try to find way for the pretty lady to find a job."

"Her name is Corrine. Corrine Sanders."

"That's a very nice name. What about the kids?"

"They call themselves Peter and Sylvie. It's not really their names. They only got this from people who walked by."

"That's really pitiful."

When morning came, Serina left to go back to school. She has a class to attend and she also needed to visit the land of the dragons in order to get rid of the curse. Brenna will be giving birth in less than three weeks and she needed to make sure that all traces of curse will be removed by then.

Natalya was left to deal with the kids and Corrine. She wasn't bothered with it though. She was once an orphan and she could understand the helpless feeling of being one.

She ordered some clothes online for the kids and for Corrine. She also bought foods for them, making sure that they'd be able to eat nutritious dishes because if she has to tell the truth, the kids are just few steps away from their coffins.

Since she's very buys, Serina cannot visit them for a while but she calls Natalya to check on them as well.

"You've used your power? And against a vampire?" Elder Alina questioned when Serina informed her of what happened. It's night time already and it's time to visit her and Brittislava but she didn't expect to receive this news. "Did you make sure that no one was there aside from you? Vampires don't act alone. They would always have someone to accompany them."

"Are you sure? There's only one vampire there, though. I really checked and only found one."

"That's weird. Anyway, just be careful in the following days. I'm not sure if you were lured to a trap or if it was just a coincidence."

"Don't worry. I can protect myself." Serina responded. "Besides, Brittislava can protect me if the situation calls for it."

"I know. I just can't stop worrying."

"Well, let's just forget this thing has happened. I'll go to sleep now. You can bring me to your hidings later."

"O-okay." Elder Alina softly muttered and sigh. He wanted to stop all these but she also wanted to help Brittislava clear her name. Although this will end everything, this will also give Serina a new life.

When Serina woke up, she was at the dragon's land again. She no longer needed any guidance from Elder Alina because she can already find her way on her own. The people there no longer hated her, too. Although she learned a lot about her ancestry and the truth why her father left this place, she didn't inform her father about it. Michael didn't even know that his daughter can lift the curse now.

He has no idea of what his daughter can do after she left their home.

As usual, Serina started to remove the curse from Brenna. She was getting better at it and she was can now remove more than 10% of the curse without collapsing on the floor. Although it still drained so much energy, she was happy to see that one of the children was safe from the grasp of the curse.

"I'll be coming more often to deal with the curse. We have little time left and I need to double my time."

"Thank you so much for helping us." Brenna replied while caressing her stomach.

"It's okay. It was my predecessor who did this and it's my responsibility to lift them. I just hope I can do it before you give birth."

After dealing with the curse, she left to go back to her dorm.

Three days later, she met with Natalya, Corrine and the two kids. She didn't stay for long since she needed to do her assignments and leave to visit Brenna again.

With all her schedules, Serina was getting tired almost every day. Sometimes, she even dozed off in class. If Lambert didn't take notes, she'd have no one to copy notes from. She didn't participate that much in class as well. Even when Nicholas called her, she didn't feel the same enthusiasm that she felt before. She just wanted to sleep.

This went on and on until the day before the due date of Brenna. For the dragon's people, when they say it's the due date, it is really the due date; unlike human pregnancy that can't be predicted at all. It would sometimes come before the due date or several days after the due date.

Because of this, Sofia asked for one day leave from school. She wanted to be there for Brenna to make sure that she can get rid of all the curse before she gives birth.

However, when she came her energy wasn't enough. Even when she ate a lot of food, she just couldn't summon all her energy and she felt so tired as well. She already lifted almost 90% of the curse and two of the babies can be born safely. She was so happy with that but she collapsed when her energy needed it the most. She wanted to lift her hand but the fire around her was slowly extinguishing and darkness enveloped her.

The next things that Serina heard was the faint sobbing coming from Brenna. Two of her kids were safe but the other one still died. Serina was ashamed.. Her tears kept falling on her face but she couldn't even lift her arm to wipe them.
