Two days later, Nicholas was just as restless as Kiro. The stirring in his chest made him feel realize that he had not been in contact with Serina for quite sometime now. He tried calling her but he couldn't reach her.

"Is it possible that she's back home?" He asked, directing the question to Kiro who was close to bursting on the surface. "I couldn't feel her anymore. Last time, we were so lucky that we got to get in sync with her emotions but it's not happening anymore. Lately, I got this feeling that she's getting farther and yet closer. I don't understand what's going on."

'Neither do I.' Kiro agreed without hesitation. 'But I am sure now. Whatever it is that is keeping her from our touch, it should be something powerful.'

"Other than the dragon bearers, who else can be stronger than us?"

'Elite Vampires and Royal Vampires. They are strong as well. Don't forget that they exist.'

"Yeah. I know about them but I don't think Serina belongs to that group. She's not a vampire. I can assure you that. And it's impossible for us to be mated with vampires."

'She can be half.'

"No way!" Nicholas disagreed with all cells in his body. "There's just no way. She can either be a human or a she-wolf, or a half-she-wolf. But she can't be a vampire."

The two of them started to think of ridiculous ideas. Kiro can recognize his mate and he knew that Serina has a she-wolf in her. He just wanted to tease Nicholas.

Later that night, on his way home, he felt a sudden tug in his chest. His hearts started to beat faster and cold sweat dotted his forehead. He was having a hard time to breath and his mind was invaded with a strong magical force. Dragons, there were dragons everywhere that varies in different size and colors. Not just that, in the middle, he saw the same dragon that he had seen years ago. The same majestic dragon with its huge silver-lined wings.

'Ugghh' Even Kiro wasn't spared from the onslaught of the strong magical power. The force was beating at him, dulling his senses and making him all dizzy and nauseous.

"Stop...stop the car." Before the driver could pull to park on the roadside, Nicholas jumped out of the car, heaving, his hands were extending to claws as he was losing control of himself. "What's going on?" He took a glance at his worried driver who was now calling his parents. He realized that he was the only one affected by the strong magic, or to speak, it was directed at him.

"Sir, I called your parents already. They're on the way. Please hang on."

At the Wentworth's home, Serina felt uncomfortable while having barbecue with her parents at their backyard. She was having a little difficulty in breathing and she could see a wolf snarling at her.

'What's happening?' Serina questioned her dragon. 'I can see a wolf? My magic is spilling everywhere. I could be detected from this.'

Brittislava pulled away her power and removed the barrier around the house. 'Don't worry. I have placed a barrier in your home. Your magic wasn't spilling. I was the one directing connection with someone.'

'You can do that? I thought you can't do anything without me.'

'I cannot conjure flames or make rain. I cannot make blocks but I can communicate.'

Serina nodded her head as if she understood what her dragon was saying. 'So, what was that wolf all about?'

'What wolf?' Brittislava feigned ignorance even though she knew who it was. 'It was probably your imagination. You have been reading books about wolves so that must have been from your books or perhaps from the movies you watched.'

'You are probably right.'

"Rina?" Michael called out his daughter's attention. "Did you notice the shift in energy? Have you awaken your dragon? You've had your mark for over 2 years now."

"I didn't feel anything." Serina answered, lying with a straight face. "By the way Dad, can you show me your dragon form?"

"Why?" There was an alarming note in his voice and Serina caught that. "I cannot do that. I promised that I will never change to my dragon form again."

"Why not? You didn't make those curses, it was your sister and the the tribesmen of the dragon clan have forgiven you already."

"How did you know that? I have never heard anything about me being forgiven." Michael narrowed his eyes on his daughter. When he left the village, he remembered the look on the faces of the tribesmen. He would never forget that. He was hated because of what his sister did and his father died to atone for her sin. Many people paid the price of her selfishness and Michael was one of that. The only great thing that happened in his life was when he met Irene years later. "Rina, you are keeping secrets from me."

Serina looked away and started to think of excuses, hoping to change the subject but before she could do it, Michael dropped a small item on the table. It was something she drew when she was still in Royale Academy.

"Where have you seen this dragon?" Michael questioned flatly but his eyes held the currents of his stormy emotions. "And don't make excuses cause I will know."

Irene looked at her husband and her daughter. They were just laughing and enjoying their time a moment ago. She couldn't understand why things have changed so drastically. She knew that her daughter has a secret or two but she never pried on them, just waiting for Serina to tell them. On the other hand, Michael didn't want secret. He hates them and no matter how ugly the truth was, he would want to know it.

"Darling, why don't you tell us what you know?" Irene added, placing her hand over her daughter's arm to give her a little courage. "We are just worried for your well-being. We wanted to visit you because of this but I convinced your father to stay and wait. Do you mind sharing your thoughts?"

"Will you be angry?"

"We won't." Michael answered almost automatically which bothered Serina even more. It's obvious that her father will get mad if she says something wrong.

'Go ahead and tell them.' Brittislava encouraged her. 'Don't worry. Everything will be fine soon.'

Serina took a deep breath and sighed. She calmed her heart and pushed the image of the wolf to the back of her mind. She didn't want to think of anything and anyone else. Right now, she only wanted to come clean to her family, her strongest support in case something happens to her.

"That's my dragon." Serina started without blinking. "I have been with her for two years now."

"I knew it. I knew you'd awaken her when you got the tattoo. I just didn't know when." Michael responded with no ounce of excitement on his voice. In fact, he sounded troubled. "Have you been able to control your magic and psychic power?"

"She's been helping me." Serina forked a lettuce from her vegetable salad and ate it before she continued her story. "I have been practicing my power and I made sure that there's a barrier around me."

Serina knew that she had to confess everything. She had to start from the beginning and to the things she's up to. She even told her parents about the people she met in Paris. When she mentioned Damon to her parents, there was a collective gasps coming from them. Her father looked more anxious now and her mother fiddled her fingers several times. She only does that when she's nervous.

"Damon and I are friends. He's been helping me a lot of times and he kept my secrets tightly sealed." Serina stated, making sure to leave a good impression of Damon to her parents. One of these days, she knew he'd visit her and it would be troublesome if they don't like him. She didn't want her friend to feel a little bit of an outcast.

'Damon? Are you alright?' Serina communicated but still, she was met with a dead silence.

"Sweetheart, you've been with Nicholas for some time and you went to his home a year ago. How do you feel about him?"

This question brought a deep blush from her neck creeping up to her face and she felt so warm that she thought she'd faint. "I...uhh..." she couldn't help but stammer. She didn't even know why they're talking about Nicholas now. "Why are we even talking about him?!" Serina questioned defiantly. She stood up from her seat and walked towards the grilling area and cooked more food. "We are friends, I guess."

"If I tell you to stop seeing him, would you do it?"

"Hell, no. Of course, not." Serina spun around and glared at her father. "Why would you do that? I thought we are in good terms with his family."

"You are a dragon bearer." This truth felt like a lightning striking her heart, burning her to ashes and crumpling her hopes.. Hearing it from her father, she felt even more troubled with her plans to confess.
