Nicholas ran into the woods with Gabriel. He was very fast and not five seconds later, he was out of Gabriel's sight but the man was still able to keep up with him since he can trace his scent. He followed Nicholas and finally caught up with him at the center of the forest. There's a wide lake situated in the middle of the forest and the beautiful moon was reflected on the surface. It wasn't full moon but the power of the moon was still strong as they feel the flow of energy around them.

Nicholas looked up into the sky and howl as loud as he could. Gabriel answered him and back at his home, his father and mother resonated the happy energy that was overflowing coming from their son. They were confused why he was flowing with joyful energy when he was just suffering so much earlier.

Half an hour later, the two of them went back to each of their homes but as Nicholas leapt to his window, he found his mother and father standing at his door. Both of them took a step back when they saw how huge he was. He almost didn't fit his window anymore.

"Do you want me to get someone to make your window a little bit bigger than your size?" Zalia questioned without even trying to find out why her son grew up to be so big. He was bigger than his father's wolf form and from the werewolf's book of leadership, the biggest, the strongest and the most intelligent wolf among the pack shall lead and become the alpha. Currently, it was his father leading the pack and Nicholas would succeed the position once he's twenty-five, given that he's found his mate.

"Now, I think there were will be some changes to the rules of our pack." Riordan commented while looking at his son. "Do you think you can lead the pack now?"

"I have no doubt that I can do it dad. However, I haven't found my mate."

"I thought it's Serina." Both his parents retorted which made him smile.

"I would love to if it's really her. I'd be very happy. However, there's a complicated matter between us. I still need to find something and confess to her as well. Kiro felt that she's our mate but we won't know for sure until she's eighteen."

"But she's only turning seventeen next month."

"I can wait another year." Nicholas replied without traces of doubt in his voice. For her, he can wait as much as he could. He still got a long way to go and waiting for her isn't really a bad thing to do.

Wednesday came and while her parents prepared to attend Yiran's birthday party at the Vallardi estate, Serina was also preparing herself to leave the house with her best friends. They were planning to have an overnight camping somewhere with three other friends from their class and two more boys who were obviously interested in Serina.

At first, Hillary didn't want them to come because Serina would probably not pay them any attention but the boys were fine with it. They'd be happy just by seeing her in a close distance. Aside from that, these boys learned karate and some other martial arts. They could protect them if needed.

"Mom, I'll be back tomorrow afternoon." Serina told her parents while she looked for some food that she can bring from their kitchen cupboard. "Also, don't let Nicholas know that I'm home."

"He'd probably know it." Michael told his daughter but I can't be so sure either. Anyway, just take care of yourself. Whatever has happened between you and Nicholas, I just hope you can patch things up and not become his enemy. I have my share of their hatred already." Michael whispered the last sentence which made Serina frown. She didn't get the words correctly but she heard the words hatred and my share.

"Don't make any mistake at work dad. I don't want your work to be the reason that we'd be enemies with them."

"Huh? I don't make mistake in my work."

"That's good, then."

Serina walked out of the kitchen with her backpack full of food and other things but she didn't think it was heavy at all. She was just about to step outside of the house when she stopped and looked back. A part of her wanted to come to the party and surprise Nicholas but another part of her was telling her to stay and think things over and over again. Her heart was torn between going and staying away.

'What's wrong with me? I was just fine living by myself, not thinking about what a man's presence can do. Why am I so hung up on him now? I think I'm going insane! Even if I like him, I shouldn't be feeling this kind of pull which makes me wants to keep him close and within reach. If possible, I want to keep him inside my pocket. And that's crazy! I'm going crazy!' Serina pressed the heel of her palm on her eyes, trying to think calmly.

'You are not crazy.' Brittislava answered. 'If you guys talk and maybe confess and maybe learn what your nature can be, perhaps there's an explanation why this is happening to you.'

'You're saying that this chemistry between us has an explanation? And wait, this could be just my feelings alone. If I ended up confessing and things were different from what I have in mind, we could lose our friendship.'

'Rina, you are not the coward woman I know. You are courageous and you always think of the future. And you don't dwell on what ifs. Aside from that, you shouldn't build a relationship from lies. It should be with trust, love and loyalty. You can start with love. Contemplate about what you really want and find the right chances to say the truth about what you are. Do not hurry him. Be patient and let him weigh the consequences of your relationship. If things work out and once trust is established between you two, you can be honest with him with everything and be loyal to him.'

'And what if it won't work?'

'Are we going over this matter again? You won't know unless you make a step.' Brittislava responded but deep inside her, in a place where Serina has no access of, her dragon was giving her compulsions and at the same time, making sure she'd take things step by step. There should be a process in everything and she want Serina to manipulate the time and process until she reaches the right moment – the moment to make things right and to pay for everything while Serina remains a victim, someone who doesn't deserve hatred from anyone.

Brittislava was keeping so many secrets from her current mistress but she knew she's doing it for her own good even if it means she has to perish from this world.

"Rina!" Brigette shouted as soon as they arrived in front of the Serina's home. She was sitting on the front seat with Jackson, Hillary's brother, driving the car. She knew that her best friend likes Jackson but she has no idea if the two has made any progress from the last time she had seen them. There were five other people at the rear lamp of the Hilux pick up but she only smiled at them before opening the door to the backseat.

"Are you coming with us Jackson?" Serina asked as she hopped onto the backseat and sat with Hillary.

"I won't. I have something to do at home. I'll be dropping you off at the foot of the mountain."

Serina just nodded her head and didn't say anything. After sending a message to her father through mind link, Serina and her friends left her house and started their trip to a mountain climbing and overnight camping. She was excited about it and for a moment, she was able to forget about her stressful thoughts.

As the drive continued, they also talked about stuffs and what were the things she did in Paris, even though she shared so many of those things already. Her friends love to listen to her experiences and of course, she omitted the fact that she was with a vampire, and some other people with extraordinary background. She only told them that there was news of vampires over the city but she has not seen a single one of them.

Not long after, they finally arrived at the foot of the mountain where they can hike to reach the top of the mountain which Hillary wanted to go so much. She said it has a great view and she wanted to see if it was true. She was really prepared to do with or without Serina coming over. She has the permit to hike on the mountain as long as she won't harm any of the creatures on the mountain. It was said to be a wild life preserved area.

"This place is extremely familiar." Serina commented as soon as she stepped out of the car. She has the feeling that she's been there but she knew that she wasn't. She has never gone out of her house just to come and look at the mountain or the forest. She looked around and found traces of car tires, something that belong to another car, perhaps bigger and heavier truck than the one that Jackson used. She felt nauseous and dizzy for a moment when she thought of hunters. "The little cubs.." She muttered under her breath.
