I open my eyes and find myself in a… unfamiliar place. It takes me a few seconds of disorienting thoughts before I realize that, ah, I wasn't kidnapped, I'm not dead, and I'm not in the enemy camp where they try to tourture me for information. I'm… I'm okay. I'm alive. I'm not those things. I am Sophia. My last reincarnation. I breathe in, relax my stuff shoulders and look at my side.

The fire had stopped burning, leaving a few unusable wood and ashes all over the place. Euphemia is still sleeping, her mouth slightly open. The sun has yet to fully rise so it's still cold as shit when I try to move away from the sleeping bag so I give up and decide to take a nap once again. The next time I wake up, Euphemia has just opened her eyes and smiles when she sees me awake, too.

"This is an amazing thing, Sophia. It was probably the best sleep I ever had in my life." She tells me.

"It is warm." I look up at the sky and the sun is finally up. "Let's eat breakfast."

She nods and slides out of the sleeping bag, just as I take out some wood, leftovers, one of the jars with water and a pot. Euphemia also takes out some clean kitchen towels. I forgot a lot of things and yet Euphemia has filled up those gaps. I feel like the Real Sophia has something to say about this.

Anyway, first, we heat up the leftovers and clean the pot to boil some water. While that's happening, we start to eat.

"Do you think they've seen we're no longer in the village?" Euphemia asks.

I answer, "It's impossible they haven't."

"Will we be okay? What if they send someone after us?"

I look in the corner of my eye and smile. "They can try."

"Is it weird I can't wait to go to the Death's Forest?"

"Not really." I keep grinning. "I'm excited too."

Of course, I am. It's a new place for me to go to and I like travelling. I don't think I have ever travelled far to any of my previous life before and since this is my last reincarnation, I wanted to do something that's different from usual and just like I said, I don't think staying in one place would make me find the Hero and the Saintess that is a part of my task. So travelling for me is hitting two birds with one stone.

Oh, also, I have Adrian if things ever go south in the Death's Forest.

As you say, My Lord. The evident tone in Adrian's voice is obvious.

Ultimately, we decided to clean the utensils and plates because it keeps bugging us even though there are only five jars of water and we finally used two and a half of them just by doing so. And then we needed the water to wash our faces and some… others… stuff. The Number One and The Number Two.

We must find a village or a town just for water alone.

There are two villages and a town ahead. Observing your journey, you will reach one of the villages by this afternoon. Adrian says.

"Two?" I whisper as I fold the sleeping bags and Euphemia is a bit far to do her business.

It seems your village's journey was only straight to the town. It means they only reach one village, the one who specialises with cocktrice and eggs, and then it's the town. You took a different path that is safer.

"Got it. Thanks." I reply as Euphemia comes running towards me with a smile on her face.

She exclaims. "It's your turn!"

As soon as we finish everything we need to do, we start walking again. The heat is still bearable considering it's still morning but I don't think Euphemia can handle it when it's noon and the sun is way up high.

The weather is strange in this place.

Discreetly, I check my Item Box if there's anything I can use to lessen that burden off our backs and then I see the sleeping bags.

Sleeping Bags can become hot or cold,  depending on the temperature in external surroundings.

I look up and glare at the sky. Why does it look like they're watching me?

(Magic suddenly leans back way too fast and almost falls. "It's like she can see me!"

"She can't." Astrology says while laughing. "I promise you, she probably just noticed the revision you made with the sleeping bags."

"I did it for her!"

"And she noticed it.")

"Sophia, is something wrong?"

I look at Euphemia and shake my head. "No. It's good. I was just wondering if we should stick somewhere for a bit when it's noon."

"You're right." Euphemia replies. "It is hot around then. What should we do?"

I look at the Northern Star and apparently, I'm the only one who can see it, save for Adrian that was given a bit of authority. The star slowly twinkles, which I think means we're getting closer to a safe place to settle down with for a bit.

"Let's cover what we can in our journey now. Our only problem is water but I think we can cover that today."

"We still have one jar, too." Euphemia replies.

"It won't last us 'til tomorrow. It's fine. There will be a village up ahead. We'll just do some trading."

"Good plan."

We continue walking until I see the twinkle fast enough for it to look like it's vibrating again. Beneath it is a boulder but this time, it had enough roof that we won't have to do anything.

I take out the two sleeping bags and look around.

"Should we eat lunch?" Euphemia asks.

"I'm not hungry."

"Me either."

"That's fine, then."

Euphemia looks at the sleeping bags. "It's too hot to be in there."

"It's fine. It has… another setting." I replied.

"What do you mean?" Euphemia frowns, confused.

I slide in the sleeping bag and it's… damn it, the newly added ability of this thing is so good that it was enough to melt all of my anger.

Euphemia echoes my thoughts when she exclaims, "Oh! It's chilly! Perfect for heat! Being Awakened is too outrageous!"

I agree, Euphemia, but you would be more shocked to know who I got this thing from.

We take a nap for a bit and wake up, hungry. We just boil some potatoes and eat it while half of our bodies are inside the sleeping bag. And then we fall asleep again. The next time we wake up again, the sun is bearable enough that we can walk. We immediately grab our stuff and go on our way. The journey isn't even that bad, except for the weather. The spatial bag that Euphemia is carrying is a backpack and it seems to be weightless while I'm not carrying anything because of my Item Box feature.

You should be able to reach the village before nightfall."

"Thanks, Adrian." I whisper.

"What?" Euphemia asks.

I shake my head. "Nothing. I just said we might reach a village in a few hours."

"Good."

And true to Adrian's words, we see a village.
