Chapter 2: Chapter 1 – Cat girl wakes up

I open my eyes.

“Nyaa... my head!”

I can feel a sharp, dull pain at the back of my head as I groggily come to. There's a throbbing ache all over my body, and I feel like I'm in some kind of daze. I try to move, but it takes me a whole minute to get up.

But didn’t I get hit by a truck? Shouldn’t I be dead? Can a dead man feel pain?

“Nyah nyah nyah! I’m alive nya!”

I shake my head and slap my own face. The pain quickly fades away. An enlightened person once said, "Cogito, ergo sum." That means, if I can still think, then I’m not dead.

“But… Where am I nya?”

I realize I am in an unfamiliar room. I am the only one here, and I have never been here before. All the furniture in the room is wooden, including a bed, a wardrobe, two chairs, and a table. Both the walls and the floors are also made of wood. It is nighttime now. When I look outside the window, I can see it is dark outside. The stars are twinkling in the sky, and the moon is full and bright. I can hear the sound of wind rustling through the trees and the distant chirping of crickets. I find it rather strange. "Cat???" I tilt my head, wondering what is going on.

The shadow also tilts its head.

Curious, I raise my hands high, swinging them back and forth.

The shadow does the same thing. Then, after a series of many more strange movements, I finally reached a conclusion.

That shadow is me.

"Woah! You can't be serious nya!"

I jump out of bed in excitement, reaching up to touch what's atop my head.

"This... This is crazy, nya!"

The soft, fuzzy, fizzy sensation of fur, the perfect triangular shape…

These are cat ears! Real cat ears!

They can even move on their own!

"Meow yeah!" I'm utterly happy.

However, there is more. Cat ears are awesome indeed. But what about the other parts? What other cat features do I have? So I turn around to investigate my own butt.

And there it is! A really really really nice tail!

With its long, slim shape and thin layer of white fur, it is the perfect tail for me. People may have different opinions, but I still think a slim tail is more elegant than a fluffy tail.

So I happily grab my tail and wag it back and forth with a prideful smile.

“This is amazing nyah! Helicopter nyakakakaka!”

However, the tail is still pretty dead because I don't know how to control it yet. But that's not a problem for now. After all, tails are just decorations. I'm not a monkey girl, I'm a cat girl! Whether I can grab an apple with my tail doesn't matter.
