Chapter 3 ( Lei’s Blunder I )
Kegan had already left for school with the school bus after waving at me. I waved back and watched him go. Then I turned to Phono and Lei. They both looked at me with cold eyes before doing anything else.
“Lei, follow Kegan to his school. We don’t know what might happen if the Rashivans know that I am his caretaker.” I tell Lei.
“But I don’t have a uniform, and today is their exam and I hate school.”
She emphasizes on “I hate school” and argues with me. This makes me the more annoyed but I keep my cool and find ways to counter her arguments.
“Just do as I say and tell them that you are a new student. You’ll be allowed to skip the exams, don’t worry. And it’s only for today.”
Phono looks at her and nods. I was deeply discouraged with her behavior towards me, the same person she calls commander, but then she agreed, only when Phono told her to, and left.
“Sorry about her behavior commander, she’s not really comfortable with having you as an ally after you ran away. You see, A class, Mathias, was her instructor.”
I understand where he’s going with this. Who could’ve known that Mathias was an instructor? That slacker.
But I decided to die the matter and focus on new issues at hand.
“Your Navègat hasn’t detected anything either?” I asked Phono.
“It has not indeed. I’m beginning to wonder if they are even going to arrive here.”
“Don’t be silly. Of course, they’ll come or are you trying to say that Gratis made a mistake?”
“No of course not.”
Once a battle is decided, god of light, Gratis, and god of darkness, Hierachö, send messages to the physical realm, to each member of the Spunio Graila and the Rashivans.
From there, the soldiers that will be sent are picked by the commander, through telepathic waves.
This reminded me to ask him, who the new commander was and how many members remained in the Spunio Graila.
“Since you left, Commander Yorue took over and as for the number that remains,…” It took him sometime to think before finally remembering his reply.
“We are eleven now, I think.”
Yorue, my rival and second in command had finally attained the post that he so wished to have one day. Who would’ve known that it would get into his hands like this.
The numbers have decreased greatly since I left. We were twenty four at the time I was commander and twenty by the time I left. I cut all means of telepathic communication after leaving, so I could not know how many people had died.
This was what we were made for though. Save or be killed. This is just simply our motto and way of life. Our wishes don’t matter, it is irrelevant. All we do is fight for the sake of others and listen to their prayers. In this case, we are gods among men.
“Enough of this, let’s stay vigilant and wait for them to arrive.” I told Phono.
“Yes commander.” He replied respectfully.

Kegan walks into the classroom and takes a seat. He looks around for Marie and Sinclair, but he doesn’t find them.
“I wonder where those two are right now. Don’t they know that it’s time for exams?”
Kegan ignores that matter and brings out a textbook to read. His finger is covered in a bandage so he is finding it hard to hold the book.
“Hey Kegan.”
A female voice spoke. He faced up and saw his two friends, Marie and Sinclair walking up to him.
“Why didn’t you tell us that your were discharged?!” Marie said at him angrily. Sinclair just waves and goes to her seat directly behind Kegan and begins to poke him.
“What do you want Sinclair?” Kegan says out of frustration.
She points to his broken finger.
“How did that happen?”
Kegan looked up and saw a furious Marie. Her brunette hair swung in the air like tentacles and a menacing look in her eyes. At any moment now, she would burst out and destroy the one thing before her, Kegan.
“Kegan, how did you break your finger?” She said calmly, ready to go at a rampage at any moment.
“Well you see, after I got discharged I tried out the hospital’s basketball…”
She didn’t let him complete his sentence.
“You played basketball?!”
She smacked his head. His skull was the only strong part of his body and could withstand any attack.
“Ow.., I just wanted to try b-ball for the first time.”
Sinclair held Marie, who was trying to get another hit on Kegan, back.
“You don’t just go around playing basketball after you got discharged from a hospital you dimwit.”
She insulted him.
“Dimwit? You’re a retard!”
He gave a medal befitting comeback.
“Who’re you calling a retard?!”
“You of course, can’t you tell? Oh I forgot, you’re a retard.”
They began to squabble about in the midst of the other students, including Sinclair, who could no longer separate the two.
It was when a teacher walked in that these two became best of friends. Just the two of them smiled and greeted the teacher.
“Good morning teacher!!”
They said in unison smiling, even though the bruises on their faces gave them away.
“Fighting again I see?” The teacher revealed.

“Uh…” They tried to defend themselves but the teacher cut in.
“Never mind that. Settle down, I already have the questions for your exams today.”
The two savages had their seats and face the front of the class. Other students also walked in and settled down.
The teacher was called outside and whispers were heard from the door.
She walked in and introduced someone.
“Oh, today we have a new students joining us, so I want you all to be at your best behavior.”
The students began to murmur to themselves.
“I wonder what they’ll be like.”
“I hope it’s a girl.”
“In your dreams.”
Kegan couldn’t care less and used this opportunity to revise his textbooks.
“Come in and introduce yourselves.”
The person began to walk in. She had long dark hair almost touching her buttocks and black eyes. Kegan looked up.
“Hiii, I’m Lei Zarpasthra. Kegan’s cousin!!”
Lei shouted with much enthusiasm and energy. Kegan was deeply embarrassed and could only wonder what was going on.
“Eh?!”
“Okay that’s good. Now go take a seat.”
Lei nods and walks to an empty seat at Kegan’s right hand side. Marie and Sinclair glanced at each other and then Lei, then Kegan.
“Lei, you will be allowed to skip this test since this is your first day. I got a call from your parent saying that you’ll only be available here for today.”
The teacher continues.
“Ah yes, we just moved here and checking out the schools in this vicinity.”
“I hope our school will be of much interest to you.”
“I hope so too.”
Their little discussion ends and the teacher goes around to give them their papers.
“What are you doing here?”
Kegan whispers to Lei but not so much. Just enough for her to grasp.
“Didn’t you hear what I’ve been saying all this while?”
She replied.
“You may begin!”
The test begins and a timer is set for thirty minutes. Each student focuses on their own sheets of paper. Some students are caught cheating and are sent out of the class while the rest fave their tests.
“Shit, I couldn’t read on this topic last night. If only I knew, argh.”
Kegan says to himself. He could not write anything down because he did not expect this particular topic to be printed and so, did not study for it. It seems that he was going to fail.
Lei noticed this and turned to Kegan. Her eyes began to glow. Kegan’s head was filled with information. Everything he did not know and was unable to comprehend was there before him, explained, in his mind. He heard a voice similar to Lei’s.
“This should be enough.”
Kegan widens his eyes and looks at Lei. Lei smiles and waves at him.
“Kegan!”
The teacher yells at him.
“S..sorry teacher.”
He continues. Now he was able to do everything, he knew everything and knew that he would pass.
The timer rang and every student got up from their seats to submit their tests. Immediately after the test, Kegan ran over to Lei’s seat and sat in front of her.
“How did you do that?” Kegan asked.
No one speaks. She blinks twice before answering.
“ I just scanned your planet and every information about it including its past histories and discoveries and sent it to your mind, I admit that it was a bit much so forgive me.”
She chuckles and opens her eyes. She sees a dumbfounded Kegan who has his jaw dropped. She blinks again.
“What’s the matter, Kegan?” She asked innocently.
“What the fuck are you talking about?”
Kegan said with much confusion written all over his face.
