The passage of time was a mysterious thing, as if you blinked for a moment, it would feel as if a lifetime has passed by. That was the case for me as I could feel the temperature starting to drop. There was no snowfall, but I could see the change of color on the tree leaves. This was the start of fall, I knew that. But when did fall begin? I could not recall the month exactly but it would come to me in time.

So far I've been living here for what feels like ages, but I knew it's only been a couple of months. In that time my life has changed a little bit. This was due to me having a partner in my life. She was pretty, but her beauty was not world shattering. Which did not bother me as I was not handsome. I was average looking at best. Still, it was nice having a companion around.

We got married, and started living together. It was awkward at first due to the language barrier, but after a few weeks of understanding one another we got the hang of it. I also started teaching her english, by starting with the alphabet then gradually upgrading to words. Such as tree, well, house, deer and a few other simple words. Most of our lessons came either when we were together on hunts or early in the morning before we started our day.

As things were now, I felt happy. I did not have much, but I could see the beginnings of a budding settlement. Having played a few city building games in my spare time, I knew what was needed for a budding settlement. Which was why I built those buildings early on. One being a hunting cabin, that stored the meat of dead animals. It was a gathering point for the hunters in the settlement to plan their day and go out to hunt various game. Next to that was a butchers home, where the livestock would be chopped up into smaller pieces. Then there was a logging camp with a wide area to hold the logs and a place to cut them. After that were two storage buildings, that would hold edible food, and the other raw material.

That was not all, but those were buildings I hurried and built to make sure they were out of the way.

"Boar." My wife said as she motioned for me to stop moving.

I did as I was told and knelt down trying not to make a sound. A few dozen feet away from us were a couple of boar, including a little baby. I had an idea as I saw my wife aiming her bow at the baby. I shook my head.

"Capture." I said instead.

She looked at me for a second then nodded. She moved her aim to the larger boar instead and shot. In a swift motion she drew another arrow and let it fly. Both of them pierced the large one causing it to shriek and cry. The other boars yelled out and started running. They were fast, but we did not need to keep up with them. We only needed to keep pace with the baby.

Even if we lost track of it, my wife was a tracker. I had no worries.

Once we got in sight of the baby it started crying and running in the opposite direction. Just what we wanted from it as we were trying to lead it back towards our camp. It took us a few minutes before the baby found itself running towards our camp which was just a trap. It would be trapped.

As for the large boar that was injured earlier we were not worried about it. My wife could track it down if it escaped. We were more concerned with the baby.

Just like I thought, the baby ran for our camp and was soon surrounded by a group of people. It kept crying out and tried to charge forward but was easily overpowered.

The biggest improvement to my camp was not my wife or the buildings. It was the people that joined us over time, as they found the buildings I created to be better than their own creations, and found comfort here. Some were from my wife's tribe but most were wanders from others. As long as no one fought, then I was content with them staying here.

I only built three of them places to stay, the others managed to build ones similar after studying the structure of mines. I wanted them all to learn English, but that would take some time. For now I was just hoping that the children would pick it up as they would teach the future generation.

After the baby boar was capture, it was placed in a pen by itself. The pen was a large wooden fence made with thick logs. So far during this time I've come across deer, boars, rabbits, snakes, and birds. I have yet to find any cows or sheep, both of which were something I desperately wanted. Along with some chickens, for their eggs.

For now, I was fine with capturing and raising boars along with my horses. Yeah, I have a horse now. Actually, I have three of them. One is an adult that I got from my wife's clan, the other two were baby's that my wife captured early on. I was planning on raising them and breeding them, I had no clue what kind they were. However, I wanted ones that could be used in combat. I knew that was something that was bound to happen in the future, but I was content with what I had now.

My wife said a few words to the group that captured the boar before she told me that she was planning on going to track down the one she injured. As for me, I left her to it. Honestly, I mostly accompanied her just to learn from her and my environment. I was more than happy to stay here and build up my settlement.

There were only ten of us in total, eight adults or adult sized people and two children. More would come in the future, but I was happy with what we had.

As I entered my home I chuckled to myself as I recalled my wife trying to start a fire in here. I had to stop her before she burned everything down.

I'm just happy she stopped looking at me with those eyes. After I demonstrated my ability, she bowed down to me as if I were some kind of God. It took a long time before she got used to it and me constantly telling her to stop that. The others in my settlement still had that sparkle, but it was slowly going away. To them I was a being with a godly ability, but to me I was just a normal human.
