Chương 71: Did I mess up?

"Young master, he may die at this rate!"

Inside a thinly lit room stood a young man with ashy grey hair currently with his handsome facial features contoured in utter outrage.

His knuckles were bloodied with hair disheveled as strong gusty breaths left his lips signifying the distress and slight exhaustion from what he just partook in.

In front was a boy similar in age with his eyes closed and face, a bloody mess. His nose was broken and bleeding, with lips swollen and bruised all around. His condition was in a half-dead state, as the boy lay unconsciously on the wooden chair after getting beaten up.

"Here, young master."

As the bald bodyguard extended the clean wet towel to his master, the latter spat on the floor after glancing at the guy for the last time as he took the towel.

"Get him treated and make reservations for him and his family completely out of my reach or I don't know what I might do when I see that face again."

As the teenager said in a profoundly cold tone he walked out of the room after throwing the white towel which was now dyed crimson.

The man wearing the black three-piece suit bowed as he spoke in an utterly respectful tone.

"Understood, Yuuta-sama."

While returning home, Yuuta fell into deep contemplation upon what he did.

If it was back then when he was still under the care of his Ojii-san in his previous life, he would have killed the bespectacled bastard without mercy for what he did to his treasured person.

He was trained to be ruthless and never think anything otherwise before pulling the trigger.

Yet today, he just beat the shit out of the guy but never thought of killing him.

Does he love Mio less than he expects himself to?

No, it would be nothing but foolishness to add limit and love together when it comes to Mio.

She's his life. His pride and everything which makes him what he is right now.

Then why did Yuuta spare Kyouya's life?

Well, it was his cautious self who decided to send that asshole away from Japan so he doesn't come in front of Mio again but Yuuta could've done much…much more.

Then why?

'Is it because of them… ?'

His phone flashed a picture set as his wallpaper where the little Yuuta was sitting in his mother's lap and his father standing behind them.

It was a picture taken on Yuuta's first birthday.

Maybe he might not be too close to them prior to rebirth or afterward but in current times, Yuuta can say he loves these two people to the point where he doesn't want to lose them.

His upbringing in the previous life was done under such a situation where he was taught not to connect his heart to anyone other than himself.

But in this life, he has come to love a girl for whom he could do practically everything and came to realize what it feels like to live under familial shadow.

Just three people changed him from being a machine who was created to take lives, to a person who is willing to sacrifice himself if it comes to his close ones.

'But it doesn't feel bad, does it? '

Thinking so while smiling foolishly, Yuuta got out of the car as he reached the mansion.

He once again checked himself if there were any blood stains but fortunately, there weren't any.

After taking a deep breath he started walking inside as the thought of what might have happened after he left started swirling in his mind.

It was insensitive of him to not even inform Sayuri but Mio was so engaging that he never got the chance to take his eyes off her.

'I will punish that little minx tomorrow… '

Finally, he reached inside only to get startled upon seeing the scene inside.

His parents along with three maids were standing in the living area just after the entrance. Sayuri and Hajime were also standing signifying that someone was about to leave.

However, unexpectedly not only Hajime had bags but Sayuri held a trolley bag too…

'Did I mess up? '
