Chương 79: Mom met you~2!

"Heh? Mom met you?"

Evident perplexion was spread on Yuuta's face as he heard Chihiro. The reason why she came to know about Yuuta's engagement in the first place was that his mother contacted her.

Chihiro nodded hesitantly since she didn't know whether she should be telling Yuuta this or not.

But there was a sudden surge of elation spreading in her belly as she remembered the one-time meeting she had with Yuuta's mother.

"It was after we visited your house when aunty asked me to meet at the nearby cafè. I think she mistook me for your girlfriend for some reason, that's why she contacted me. "

Yuuta frowned slightly as he remembered the time when Mio along with others visited his house. At that time he clearly remembered that his parents went to foreign lands for work purposes.

Well, it was no brainer to realize that it must be one of the maids who informed his mother about the guests, but how come Chihiro was mistaken as his lover?

Yuuta couldn't seem to remember but he was sure that this misunderstanding was gonna create a lot of trouble. He had made a mental note to talk it out with his mother sometime.

"What did she say exactly? And you didn't tell Mio, right?"

Chihiro's hand clutched the hem of her skirt as the consideration of Yuuta toward Mio never fails to awfully surprise her.

Collecting herself she tried to speak without much change of tone.

"I did not tell Mio about this. And aunty just told me that you are engaged now so it's better to maintain some distance or maybe if I like I can become your… "

Chihiro's face flushed as she remembered the words and how foolishly she was going to voice them out in front of Yuuta.

Seeing her gaze falling down with sudden nervousness evidently dying on her face, Yuuta wanted to ask but he chose to stay silent. There was something else he gave priority to ask.

"But why didn't you tell her right there and then that you are just my friend?"

Chihiro knew this was coming and she also was sure that if she tells him her genuine reason for not clearing the misunderstanding, Yuuta would never see her again.

So she chose to play the sacrificing damsel.

"I didn't want Mio to get involved in this. You know how sensitive she is to these things. That silly girl might have started to distance herself from you just because of slight convincing. If someone else then she might have not listened to them, but here we are talking about your mother, Yuuta-kun. She has all the rights to ask a lover to stay away from her son since he is gonna marry soon, no?"

Yuuta sighed as he realized that indeed Mio might have started following his mother's words. She is just like that, but that's what makes her Mio.

"I understand. Thanks and I apologize for the trouble my mother brought. I will talk with her once I get out of Sayuri's matter. I will probably bring Mio to meet her."

Chihiro curved a fake smile across her lips and was only able to hold back her frustration because of the handsome and innocent smile she saw from Yuuta.

'Only if you had eyes for someone other than Mio… '

Downstairs, there was an awkward atmosphere spread across both girls as they sat silently while watching tv.

Sayuri knew that there was something Mio wanted to talk about, that's why Chihiro pulled Yuuta away along with herself from the group and left her and Mio alone.

And looking at Mio's fidgeting at her place, Sayuri was sure that there was something rather unsettling for the blonde girl for her and Yuuta's relationship.

Finally, after almost fifteen minutes of nothing but just staring at giraffes eating leaves, Sayuri broke the silence.

"Mio-san, please tell me what's troubling you. Even though we haven't been acquainted for long, I promise to tell you everything honestly until it's related to Yuuta."

Mio gulped in anxiety but she knew she had to talk this out with Sayuri or this eerie feeling inside of her would never subside.

Exhaling audibly, she turned herself toward Sayuri and found the latter already facing her.

Throwing her previous hesitation, Mio finally spoke the question which had been worrying her since last night.

"Sayuri-san… do you like… Yuu?"
