Everyone seems to be scared from the sudden monster that showed up. Based on everyone’s reaction that means this monster is considered really powerful.

“The Howling panther? Why is that thing here?” Ito clenched his sword as he was getting ready to block the first attack from that monster. 

“Ryoko!” He called out her name while making as little movements as possible.

“Yes.” Ryoko cast the same buff effects on all of us. They knew what to do even in this kind of situation. They must have prepared for this before taking the guild’s exam.

The moment Ryoko finished casting her buff, the howling panther jumped towards the nearest target that was Ito.

“Hngg!!!” He managed to block the first attack but his body was pushed back from the force caused by the panther’s paws. The panther was really fast and I wasn't sure how they were going to kill that monster.

“Ito!” Tamiko called out his name as a warning about the magic she was casting. A bunch of gibberish words came out of her wand until spears made out of water charged towards the monster.

“Did that do it?” She asked herself as she was looking for the result of her attack. But sadly only one of the spears had managed to scratch the panther. While everyone was struggling with this monster, the supervisor was just standing by without bothering about this situation. Ito started attacking the panther once again so it wouldn't get too close to the magicians and Aya. While everyone was trying their best to push away that monster, Aya was watching from behind. Somehow, she wasn't scared about that kind of monster which was a good thing. Is she trying to understand the way everyone works in this party? That's a good thing for her, but...

[Shouldn’t you be giving them a hand as well?] I said to Aya as I was thinking of another strategy just for the two of us. 

[Ah, yes.] She said back to me with a positive reaction. I could feel that she was a little excited about hunting this kind of monster. And so was I... Even though I couldn’t feel it in my spiritual form.

As Aya launched her first attack toward the black panther, I used one of the skills that I wanted to try out. 

<Paralyse>

The monster stopped moving, allowing Aya to strike her second attack. 

<Double swing>

The panther barely managed to dodge Aya’s attack, leaving it behind with another scar on its body. But my skills were in effect, so that monster was several times slower than before. 

“Aya, I’ll assist you!” From Aya’s side, Ito charged towards the panther once again leaving it with no other choice but to face it head-on. But this time he managed to land a clear hit on one of its eyes. 

“GRAAAAW!!” The panther reacted to the sudden pain he received in one of its eyes. Now it was Aya’s chance to land another hit.

[Aya!] 

[I know.] She immediately understood what I wanted to tell her. She charged towards the panther and took out its other eye. But that's when the monster started going berserk. Since both of its eyes were completely gone, that thing started destroying everything that was on its path. 

“GRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAW!!” Everyone covered their ears from the loud sounds this monster was releasing. Even Aya couldn't concentrate from the sudden change. But I’m not going to allow that monster, hurt Aya any longer.

While using the ‘Stealth’ skill, I got out of Aya’s body and immediately moved around the bushes in order to reach that panther and possess it. 

“Hmm…” And that supervisor wasn't doing anything even now. He just stood there with that plain face of his.

<Possessing>

After I managed to possess the panther, I felt an intense anger running through its body. I could feel its pain and anger as it wanted to destroy everything on its path. But I wasn't going to allow it to do as it pleases. While I couldn't see from this monster’s eyes, I took control of its body and ran away from Aya and the rest of the party. But as I was trying to get away I felt some kind of presence that was some meters in front of me. Don’t tell me I'm heading towards Aya and the other guys? But wait, I can also use this to my advantage.

[Aya, I’m possessing this monster.] I telepathically said to her but nothing was happening. Am I still not close enough for the telepathy to work between me and Aya?

[B-but Hiroki, you’re inside!] She worriedly responded back to me after a moment of silence. So I’m close enough for our telepathic skill to work.

[Just do it, I’ll be fine!] I encouraged Aya as I tried preventing this monster from taking back control of its own body. But it was no use, this monster was getting control back of its body much faster than I had thought. And I was not happy about what was happening right now.

I could feel Aya preparing her full power in order to end this monster with one strike, and since I wanted her to get a clean hit, I paralysed this monster once again so it couldn't escape its fate.

“HAA!” She released her full strength as she cut the panther's head off. I felt as if my head was falling off the body. The moment this happened, I got out of its body and while travelling from underground I possessed Aya again so I wouldn't be noticed.

[Good Job.] I praised her as I was looking at the dead panther in front of us. 

[hehe, thank you.] And I could feel Aya’s heart beating really fast when I said that to her.

Even my skills leveled up from killing that monster. Well, it was a strong monster so it was only meant to get this much level experience. But I wonder how far I can take my own skills?

“Aya, that was amazing.” Tomika got near Aya as she praised her with a relieved expression on her face.

“That's right, but I'm surprised how the Howling panther stopped moving.” Ito came near us as well.

“You must be a lucky girl.” Ryoko also added. But Aya froze once again as she didnt know how to respond to everyone's attention. After Ito got a piece of material from the panther, we continued hunting some more monsters until we were ready to head back to the guild. 

I wonder if Aya is going to pass the exam. What am I thinking? Of course she will pass! She managed to kill a strong monster while the others were struggling with it. But things didn't go as smoothly as we had thought in the end.

“She doesn’t pass” Those were the words that came out of the supervisor as we were waiting for the results.
