Both Aya and the lady at the guild were looking at the supervisor the moment he said the results. The whole party managed to pass the final test except Aya. I was confused as well since Aya did better than anyone in the party. She basically single handed a panther while everyone was having difficulties with it. Did we break some kind of rule that we weren't supposed to?

"Huh?" Aya finally reacted after processing what the supervisors said to us. Up until now, I've been hyping Aya about how she was going to pass the exam and how everything would go really well. And now suddenly, everything went completely different from what I had expected. I could feel a strong pain in Aya's chest from the way things had turned.

"Well… I figured, there's no way Aya could do this kind of job..." The receptionist sighed after taking a look at the supervisor's notes he had written. I wasn't sure but I felt like she was relieved and a bit disappointed at the same time about the results. Even right now, Aya was at the point of bursting into tears from this kind of situation. But I tried holding her back as I took control of her body.

"Can I know the reason why I failed this exam?" I asked the supervisor by using Aya’s voice and body. He moved down his eyes and looked at Aya with his expressionless face. But deep down, I could feel a bit of disgust coming from that person.

"Knowing the reason won't change the results, so don't bother." He said back to Aya while preparing to leave from here, but the receptionist stopped him from doing so.

"Hold on, it's part of your job and Aya's right to explain the reason why she failed!" The instructor looked back at the receptionist with a bothered look on his face. At least the receptionist is trying to help Aya, knowing she failed. But now, I'm curious to know the reason why Aya failed this exam. If Aya had missed something, I would have noticed immediately. Unless common sense in this world would be much different from the games I used to play.

"Fine… first of all this girl isn't capable of doing the adventurers job. I won't lie, she has some interesting fighting skills but those won't be enough for this kind of work. She doesn't know how to work as a team and can be reckless most of the time. Even at the most dangerous moments, she stood behind when she could have contributed to her party. But even if she contributed, she would have slowed her comrades down, leading the whole party into a failed quest and what's worse, getting themselves killed." I was a bit shocked by what this guy said because everything he just said was not true. Was he sleeping when Aya killed the panther? No wait… something's not right here… Even Ito and the girls beside him were averting their eyes away from Aya. I had the feeling that they were going to say something about this, but they just stood there without saying anything.

"If there's nothing else, then I'm leaving." Those were the last words he said before going to his own business.

"U-us as well, we have something unfinished." Ito also left awkwardly together with Tomika and Ryoko. Even though they were happy to get Aya into their team, they suddenly changed as if they no longer were interested in Aya.

"He was lying." I said to the receptionist the moment I made sure that no one was listening to us.

"Aya… you know it's not good to lie about this. The guild has made strong rules in order to secure everyone's safety." She calmly explained to Aya with a worried look on her face. I could tell that she genuinely cared about Aya and she didn't want her to take the wrong path. But this time, Aya was on the right. Everything that the supervisor said was nothing else but bullshit.

"But what if everything he said was really a lie?" She looked at Aya with a surprised look the moment I asked this kind of question. Wait, I was a little pissed about that guy, did I act out of Aya's character?

"If he had actually done that thing, then the guild would have to suspend his guild card and at worst, take away his 'C Rank'." She looked through the notes while explaining this to Aya. Does the receptionist also suspect that the instructor did make everything up?

"Then?" But as I was expecting a positive response from her, she shook her head left and right.

"I'm sorry but I highly doubt that Genji would do such a thing. He has helped the guild so many times. And not only that, he has been an active solo adventurer since the beginning. Also, I have never seen him be interested in anything other than quests." So even though he did lie, the guild wouldn't believe Aya without any strong proof.

"Then is it possible for me to retake the exam? But with a different instructor this time?" The receptionist looked at Aya with a troubled look on her face. I never heard anything about not being allowed to retake the exam, so it should be possible for Aya to try once again.

"You know Aya, sometimes it's okay to just give up. Risking your life for this kind of work isn't a wise decision. " So she still believes that Aya isn't capable of doing the adventurers job. But how can I prove her wrong? I can understand that she doesn't want Aya to get involved in the guild. But Aya wasn't supposed to fail the last exam. Why did that guy decide to fail Aya? But anyway, whatever plans he might have, I won't allow him to do whatever he wants.

"But what if I am right? I can prove that I am capable of doing this kind of work. All I need is a second chance." The guild lady let out a sigh as she took out a piece of paper and wrote something really fast on it.

"Usually, someone has to wait over a year in order to retake the whole exam, but I'll make an exception for you." From those words Aya came back to senses in a bit of excitement. I could feel that she still had hope on this.

"R-really?" Aya reacted back to the guild lady after she finished writing stuff on her paper.

"Yeah, come tomorrow early in the morning. I will ask one of the adventurers to look over you during the exam." After we left the guild, Aya managed to get another chance at becoming a real adventurer, and this time, without any instructor that would make things up. But things still didn’t go as smoothly as we were hoping. While we were on our way to the abandoned house, a middle-aged man with fancy looking clothes was coming towards us. He was looking directly at Aya with his malicious eyes. The moment Aya made contact with this man, she started trembling.

“Seems like they didn’t accept such a young girl in the guild, did they?” A smirk appeared on his face as he was looking at Aya.
