The whole house was completely filled with different furnitures and necessary stuff for two girls to live in. Since we didn’t want to spend money on expensive and useless stuff, we only got what was important. Starting from the bathroom where they could wash themselves with hot water and all of the kitchen tools in the other room. This house was slowly becoming much brighter and comfortable to look at!
Since we had the time, we also filled the broken holes in the walls and fixed the wooden floor where it was considered dangerous to walk to.
“What are you doing?” Theresa came to the room where I was making the bathroom.
By using levitation, I was speeding up things really fast and since this world doesn't have a proper bathroom for commoners, I felt really bad. That's why I was creating some kind of container for storing water. And whenever the girls want to wash themself, I can just use my skill to heat the container up, providing everyone with constant warm water.
“This container can store hot water whenever we want. This way, you girls won't have to wash your bodies with cold water.” Theresa looked at me with a surprised look on her face when I said that to her.
“Constant warm water? Only nobles get to have this kind of thing. Are you trying to fool me?!” She snapped back at me without believing that I was really building this kind of container.
“I’m not lying, and here is the proof!” After I closed the container which was somewhere hidden in the room, I started using the fire skill to heat up the water. And after a few seconds of heating the water, I went to the main holes I had made which lead to the main bathroom.
“It's warm...” Based on Theresa’s reaction, that means that my experiment was a success.
It was a pain to create those holes while maintaining them with thousands of small rocks so the water wouldn’t get dirty. It's like filtering the water and keeping the temperature the same for a long time.
“But why did you build something like this if you can’t use it? If you are a ghost then you don’t need warm water to wash yourself, do you?”
“I didn’t build this for myself though. I built it for you and Aya.” But even though I was saying that, I felt a little jealous of not being able to soak my whole body in warm water.
“Don’t tell me you plan on peeking at us?!” She muttered to herself before looking at me once again.
“I won’t do that unless you invite me in.” I grinned as I was staring at her.
“D-Definitely not!” She immediately responded without a second thought.
But before they could actually use the bath, they decided to do a quest as a party first thing in the morning. That way, they can wash off the sweat when they come back home.
“What are we going to do? We didn’t even go to the guild to get a quest.” Aya wondered as she was walking by Theresa’s side.
“Oh right, I forgot to tell you. There is a quest that I haven't finished yet.” Theresa explained to us as we continued going somewhere deep in the woods.
Don’t tell me she neglected her quest just to look over me the whole time…?
“By the way, I know that is a bit late to ask, but… what kind of quest is it?” I asked.
“We have to kill a guardian dragon.” Our eyes widened when she mentioned the word dragon. I already expected that there would be dragons in this world, but aren't they considered really dangerous?
“A guardian dragon?!” Aya muttered to herself those words that contained a little worry.
“You know them, Aya?” She immediately grabbed my arm when I asked her.
“Y-yes. I’m not sure but a guardian dragon once landed on my father’s land for a few minutes then it left…” I could feel Aya’s hands trembling a little while explaining her story.
“It landed? How long did that happen?” Theresa suddenly asked as if it caught her attention.
“I’m not sure... This happened many years ago when I was really young.” Aya replied.
“Based on your reaction, that means you know something?” I asked Theresa as she averted her eyes away from me.
“Yeah… Usually, guardian dragons only leave their territory when they look for a mate. And somehow, they aren't hostile to humans unless they are attacked. But things can be different if a human invades their territory.” Theresa crossed her arms as she was explaining this to us.
“So you’re saying…” I said to myself after realising what Theresa was trying to explain to us..
“Yeah, our quest might be much harder than I had thought.” Theresa let out a sigh as she said that in annoyance.
.
..
…
Since this quest would be a little harder than we had thought, Theresa suggested that we make some kind of plan before entering the guardian’s territory. It was becoming dark, that's why I prepared a camp for everyone really quickly.
“Since we don’t know the exact number of our targets, we need to prepare ourselves for the worst!” Theresa’s face was serious as she began thinking of some kind of plan.
“But can we really defeat a d-dragon in the first place?” Aya wondered.
“Guardian dragons are just big lizards with no brains. If we know where to attack, then they are no different than a normal monster.” Theresa said with confidence. “But that doesn't mean that we have to underestimate them. They can destroy an entire village within a moment if they want to.” She also added.
“We also don’t know what the terrain of its territory looks like.” I said.
“That’s also true, that's why we need to prepare first.” Theresa agreed with me.
“Since you accepted this quest, then that means you have some kind of plan?” I asked.
“Yes… I did…” Theresa let out an annoyed sigh as she was trying to think of something.
“First, let's discuss the guardian’s weakness and strengths! We can make a plan together as we discuss this.” Theresa looked at me straight into my eyes when I suggested this.
“Hiroki…?” Aya suddenly looked at me with a bit of worry and confusion.
“What is it?” I asked as I confusingly looked back at her.
“Do you perhaps not know what a guardian dragon is?” Even Theresa was looking at me when Aya asked this.
I may suspect that knowing a guardian is a common thing in this world, but since I’m from another world… I only know basic things about dragons from the legends or games.
“I already told you that I don’t have any memories of when I was alive.” If I told them that I’m from another world, I’m sure they would be confused. That's why I made up this lie in order to cover the fact that I don't know common sense in this world.
“Haa… If you really don’t know, then let me briefly explain what a guardian dragon is.” Theresa began explaining to me. “Guardian dragons are the weakest ranks from all of the other dragons. The reason behind that is because they are interested in only sleeping in their own territory. Some of the humans would also call these dragons ‘lazy’ because of their nature. As I mentioned before, these dragons only move away from their territory when they try to find a mate. But a guardian is still a dragon that can bring disaster to nature! Its fire breath can even melt rocks in just a few moments and its size is almost as big as two royal carriages. And the baby ones differ from the size of a human until they reach adulthood.”
I see, so basically it's an introverted dragon that doesn't like doing much other than mating. But as Theresa explained, this kind of dragon can be really dangerous. I mean, it can literally melt rocks in just a few seconds.
“So now that we know that there might be more than one dragon, it will be hard to even approach them?” I asked after listening to Theresa’s explanation.
“That's right. If there was only one of them, we could have caught it by surprise while it was asleep. But now that there are more of them, I’m sure that at least one of them will keep guard while the others sleep.” Theresa also added.
“What if I go to their territory first?” I suggested it to everyone.
“E-eh?! A-alone!? No, isn't that dangerous?!?!” Aya freaked out while Theresa was suspiciously looking at me.
“What is your goal here?” Theresa glared at me.
“Since I am a ghost, no physical attacks will work on me. And you already know that. If there are multiple guardians, then I can possess one of them without getting injured and control its body.” I calmly explained to everyone the first step of my plan.
“Control its body? You can do that?” Theresa looked at me with a weirded out expression on her face.
“Yeah, I’ve done that to Aya when she passed out. Since I couldn’t just hold her, I pretended to be her until I moved her into a safe place.” But even after I explained the reasons behind my skills, Theresa’s skin shivered a little.
“T-thats creepy…” She muttered to herself.
Reacting like that actually hurts a lot… I already understand that controlling someone else's body is something really creepy. But at those moments I didn't really have any options...
But Aya on the other hand didn’t seem to mind it at all. Even right now, she simply smiled in embarrassment when I made eye contact with me.
“A-anyway, I will possess the dragon that will be on guard and immediately launch an attack against the others. That will be the signal to approach the other guardians and attack their weak spots.” I explained the other steps of my plan.
After that, Theresa and Aya decided to sleep for tonight while I would be on the lookout. I felt like Theresa has gotten a little comfortable around me compared to the first night we spent out together. The other time, she barely got any sleep because she would keep an eye out to me the whole night.
If I am honest with myself, I feel lonely during the night… Since there is no one to talk to me, it almost feels like I am alone… just like when I first found myself as a ghost. But when I look at these girls sleeping, I somehow feel at ease… Especially Aya’s peaceful looking face as she comfortably sleeps on my lap.
As I gently rubbed Aya’s head, I began looking at the shining stars in the sky that felt like a view from a scifi movie…
Even though it's almost impossible… I believe that somewhere far away from here, lies my world where my family and friends are happily living their lives.
I hope that they are doing much better…
.
..
…
….
It was really early in the morning, and Theresa decided that we had to begin our plan at this time of the morning. Since the surroundings are a bit foggy, it was the best time to proceed with the plan.
“The fog is quite thick and we can lose each other easily if not careful.” Theresa whispered to us as we continued going towards the guardian’s territory.
Even though Theresa was carrying a massive sword on her back, she barely made any sounds while moving forward.
It didn’t take long before we arrived near the guardian’s territory.
After we discussed the plan once again in the morning, I went ahead from anyone, and while keeping myself hidden with ‘Stealth’, I began looking for the guardian. I thought the guardian would be hidden in some kind of cave, but the path cleared up until I saw a massive dragon staying near the lake.
So that's the guardian dragon…
I thought to myself as I hid myself so it wouldn't see me.
From what I could see from here, its scales were silver just like its eyes that could tremble any prey with fear. As Theresa explained before, it was almost as big as two carriages from the middle-ages on top of each other. That dragon was looking around without moving from its spot. And some meters away there were six young dragons and another adult one.
Those must be its mate and young dragons.
As Theresa suspected, there are more than one guardian dragon… Aya and Theresa must be getting into position anytime now, that's why I have to begin with the plan.
But the moment I started going towards the guardian, It immediately noticed me. And without sparing me, It released its fire breath from its massive mouth in an instant. I could smell the ground and rocks which were melting from its heat, but since I am a ghost, no physical attacks worked on me!
The guardian noticed that its attack wasn't working, causing it to increase the heat of its breath. I could actually see the frustration and anger in his eyes as I was getting closer to him. But no matter how it feels, I’m still taking control of its body.
Without letting it catch a break, I continued getting closer until I managed to possess it. As I was inside this guardian, I could actually feel slight fear from the inside as it was trying to look for me. But this is where the fun part starts!
The guardian started freaking out the moment it noticed that its own body wasn’t its own anymore.

Usually, it would be kind of hard to control monsters because of their mental strength, but while I’m possessing this dragon, I can control it freely. Maybe it's because my INT is much higher compared to this dragon.
Now that I am possessing this dragon, I should give Aya and Theresa the signal. I turned my head towards the other dragons and tried shooting its fire breath. But I wasn’t sure how to do that… Do I just spit ou--...
But before I could actually think what I had to do, I felt this dragon’s mouth much warmer until its fire came out, and immediately reached the target.
Steam was coming from the surface of the lake caused by the heat of the fire.
“...”
And as I thought… this might be harder…
I thought as I was looking at the other guardian dragon that had used its body to protect the young ones. The mate guardian looked around in anger and glared at the dragon I was possessing. I could actually feel it’s killing intent as it shot fire at me. The skin of this dragon was being burned away as I was waiting for it to stop. Compared to the guardian I was possessing, the mate one was much more powerful!
I could feel its skin as It was being burned alive. But the one I was possessing was a dragon after all. It wouldn't just go down from a simple fire breath.
Since the mate dragon didn’t want me to approach its young ones, It began crawling towards me until It started flying.
In an instant I tried using the wings on my back until this dragon was lifted from the ground.
As I began chasing the mate dragon, I tried using fire breath once again so I could slow it down. But this actually backfired on me since the air pressure crushed the fire into my vision.
“ROOAAAAAAAARRR!!!” The mate dragon suddenly stopped and slapped my face with its tail.
I was thrown some meters away until I managed to get the hang of the wings.
The mate dragon may be stronger than the one I was possessing, but my target didn’t consider the fact that I use different skills other than firebreath.
As I was trying to fly towards the mate dragon, I noticed it was charging another attack towards me, that's why I began flapping the wings much harder until it was within my range.
<Paralyse>
But even though its body was paralysed, It still blasted the fire towards me.

Aya and Theresa were hiding behind some massive rocks on the other side of the lake. They were waiting for the exact moment Hiroki would possess the guardian dragon as he explained before.
“Can he really do this?” Theresa said to herself as she was looking at the mate dragon that was warming up its own kids.
“Hiroki is strong! He won’t fail.” Aya proudly whispered to Theresa.
“You really trust him, hmm…” Theresa wondered as she looked at Aya’s loving expression when Hiroki was mentioned. “Why do you love him so much?” Theresa asked.
“L-love!?” She blushed from Theresa’s unexpected question. But even after that, Theresa was waiting for an honest answer from Aya.
“...I don’t know…. But every time Hiroki is near me, my chest feels warm and I can’t help but stare at him…” Aya began explaining as she averted her eyes in embarrassment.
“Near me…” Theresa repeated those words as she was thinking something on her mind. Aya stared at her, wondering if something was wrong.
“Oh, it's nothing. I’m just talking to myself-...” But as Theresa said that to her, the ground vibrated a little from the dragon's fire. When Aya and Theresa looked over the massive rock, they noticed one of the dragons attacking the other ones.
“He really did it…” Theresa muttered to herself as they were looking at the guardian dragon. They continued looking at the battle between guardians until they began flying somewhere far from this territory.
“This is our chance! Let's go!” Theresa and Aya went towards the young dragons after making sure they wouldn’t be noticed by the dragons which were flying in the sky.
One after another, Theresa began slashing the dragon’s heads like it was nothing. While they still can shoot firebreath from their mouth, they were nowhere near strong compared to the adult one.
Aya went from behind one of the dragons and destroyed its eyes with her dagger. The young dragons didn’t have much strength, that's what made it easier for her to kill them that fast.

[ Hiroki’s POV ]
---------------------
.
From continuous hits and attacks, I couldn’t find an opening where I could land a critical hit on the mate dragon.
Even after paralysing it, I only managed to slow it down while I continued shooting fire from all over its body. And at this point, It was only a matter of time before one of us would get exhausted.
Each time I would get closer, I’d get either slapped away or its sharp claws scratch the face. The dragon I was possessing was also getting tired. I had to think of something before my time ran out!
This body wasn't mine, so going all out while getting this dragon as injured as possible was something really easy for me..
I began flying towards the mate dragon with all of my strength and tried getting closer. Fire breath began burning this body from the mate’s firebreath. I could feel the skin of this dragon slowly being burned to crisps as I was getting closer.
But even after I managed to get closer, the mate dragon tried slapping me away using its tail as a weapon.
<Paralyse>
I slowed it down once again and managed to grab its tail.
At that moment, the status’s hint came up in my mind as I was trying to come up with something.
This might work!
I moved closer to the dragon’s butt hole and unleashed firebreath with all I had until most of my strength was gone.
“ROOOOOOOAAARRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” The mate dragon fell down after releasing a loud crying noise. But since I wanted to be sure I killed it, I went after it and grabbed it by its neck and sinked my dragon teeth as deep as I could. I could feel the mate struggling in pain, but at this moment it was already pointless for it to attack back.
Since Theresa needed a guardian dragon for her quest, I decided to bring this one to her. From here I could actually see Theresa and Aya waiting near the lake. After I placed the mate dragon on the ground, it looked at its own kids laying down dead. It’s eyes lost color as it was looking at the young dragons that were beyond saving. Those were the final moments of the mate dragon...
Both Theresa and Aya were intensely looking at the dragon I was possessing in case it would attack them. But there’s no way I would let this guardian dragon harm any of them.
<Paralyse>
I paralysed this guardian’s body as I got out of it in an instant.
Now that I was looking at it from this angle, this dragon was injured really bad all over its skin. Fatal burns, scratching injuries all over its body and I could tell that It had a problem moving for even a bit.
“Hiroki!” Aya immediately came towards me as I was going towards them.
“Good job everyone.” I said to them after noticing that they were unharmed.
Theresa on the other hand rushed towards the dragon I was possessing some moments ago and pulled out some kind of container made of glass and filled it with the guardian’s blood that was barely alive. Even though the dragon was still alive, she still wasn't scared in case the dragon would attack.
“The guardian’s blood can be made into high quality healing potions, but if the dragon is still alive while getting the blood, the quality would be three times higher.” Theresa said after noticing that I was staring at her.
“Is that so?” But after waiting for Theresa to get as much blood as she wanted, the guardian dragon also died from severe burns and blood loss. It didn’t take long before the area around this territory began smelling really bad.
“We should get out of this place before we get some kind of disease.” Theresa warned us as we began moving away from this place. But as the terrible smell was fading away, I noticed a familiar smell which seemed nostalgic to me.
“Is something wrong?” Theresa asked after seeing my weird behaviour. And since I didn’t want to lose my concentration, I followed this smell until I arrived at a weird looking tree that was covered with some kind of dark trunk.
While the tree was much different and the shape was much different, that is definitely…
“Coffee!” I said after realising what this tree was.
