"Are you the last adventurers who are coming with us? Took you long enough to arrive here!"
“...”
“...”
“...”
None of us responded to the archer who seemed to be complaining about us arriving late. Honestly, I didn't want to argue with that type of girl. And the girls besides me decided to ignore her as well.
“Now, now. I don’t really mind waiting a bit more than I mentioned at the quest. Besides, I’m gonna need you all to cooperate together. I don't want to have any of my stuff stolen by bandits during our trip.” Our employer got out of his cart after making sure that all of his products were in there. He seemed to be a simple merchant who's used to travelling to different places.
“He’s right. Why don’t we introduce ourselves?” The one to suggest that was a swordsman who seemed likely to be the leader of this party.
I assumed they were a party of how close they seemed with each other.
“My name is Andre, and I am a sword wielder.” The leader of that group was wearing armour who seemed to have been through a lot of battles. In his face were many scars that made him look like a veteran hero.
“This one is Yoshiki, and he is a swordsman like me. We’ve known each other since a long time ago so you can trust him.” He introduced the black haired guy next to him who seemed to be really quiet and uninterested in his friend’s introduction.
"And he is Joshua, he recently joined our party." He pointed to the other swordsman who seemed to be well equipped with armour and a longsword.
"And the archer is Oreta, a childhood friend of mine. While her personality may seem a little hard to handle, she is quite gentle and nice."
"What do you mean by 'hard to handle'?!" The green haired girl snapped back at him.
"..."
"Ahem!" The massive guy with a shield on his back, cleared up his throat. "I'll do my own presentation myself. Feel free to call me 'big T' since my real name is really long and hard to pronounce.
My occupation is a tanker, so don't hesitate to rely on me during a tough time."
"..."
"..."
After everyone finished introducing themselves, they were waiting for us to introduce ourselves as well.
Other than the archer, the other guys seemed pretty chill about this new quest.
"I'm Hiroki, she's Aya and that's Theresa." I quickly introduced ourselves without giving too much information about us.
Since we barely know them, giving them any details about us wouldn't be a great idea.
"You!!" Oreta the archer, looked pissed at me for acting without a care towards them.
"Now, now. Calm down Oreta. I'm sure that Hiroki must have his own reasons to keep a few things hidden. After all, this is the first time we're meeting."
As I thought, Andre… as the leader of that party seemed to be quite sharp in his actions.
Even though he has a friendly attitude, and an heroic posture… but I don’t think he is a bad guy.
.
..
…
I heard that going to Holl Town usually takes a whole day. But since we have to guard a cart, together with the merchant riding it, it might take a lot longer.
…
[Try to be cautious. I can hear something coming.] I telepathically warned both of the girls while walking behind the whole group.
[Wha?! I already told you to stop talking to me like this! It's creepy!] Theresa immediately responded back while Aya looked at me happily.
[Even so, I don't want those guys hearing our conversations. That's why I'm talking to you like this.]
[I don't mind Hiroki talking to me like this though.]
[How can you feel comfortable when someone talks to you directly in your head?] Theresa wondered.
[hehehe.] Aya gently laughed as a response to her.
.
..
Some hours had passed as those noises were becoming more annoying.
At first I thought there were monsters wandering around us, but as we continued going forward, those sounds followed after us.
That's when I realised that we were being followed.
"Stop the cart." Andre told the merchant after noticing something weird from behind the bushes.
"Is something wro-" The merchant asked, but before he could get an answer...
"Show yourself!" Andre threatened as everyone prepared themselves for combat.
From the bushes, a lady came out who had the looks of amazoness with revealing clothes and armour. Her chest was quite big, and her body was curvy even though she actually had abs.
"I guess, asking the reason you were following us would be stupid, right?" Andre asked as he pointed his sword at the amazoness.
"Quiet the clever boy we have here. I'm thinking of making you my pet. What do you say you abandon your whole party and become mine? I'll make sure you'll become one of my favourite seats." The amazoness offered Andre to betray all of us, in exchange for his own safety.
Even right now, I knew that she wasn't bluffing. Thanks to my skills I could know where most of the other bandits were located.
"I'm sorry but I'll have to refuse. I won't let down my friends." He rejected her offer without a second thought.
"That's a shame…" That woman snapped her fingers, signaling all of the other bandits to reveal themselves.
But as more bandits were coming out, the tanker gasped in disbelief.
"Wait, I know some of you… Aren't you adventurers like us?" The shield guy looked at some of the bandits with a shocked expression on his face. "Why would you do this?" He glared at them as confused as he was.
"Our ranks don't pay us that well. That's why we ask kind adventurers like you to gift us all of their stuff. Not that you’d understand." The amazoness explained once again after everyone realised that we were completely surrounded.
“Big T, protect our client! Yoshiki and Oreta, stay on guard and Joshua…” There was a bit of hesitation when Andre mentioned Joshua’s name. “We’re going in!”
“So you won’t be as generous as the other guys, huh?” She grinned, then took her sword out, and prepared for any attack with great confidence.
“You’ll pay for that.” Andre said as he was charging towards that woman together with Joshua.
But their plans were not going to work out if they attacked head on without knowing our enemy first.
The amazoness moved away from her position, dodging all of their attacks before going behind their backs.
“You guys are waaaay too slow.” And as she whispered those words to his ears, she knocked them out with the back of her sword.
Everyone else was confused on how she managed to instantly knock them out that quickly without a sweat. And as they were looking at their unconscious friends laying on the ground, that woman got Andre’s sword and held it in her own hand.
“That's a fine sword you have there. Don’t mind if I do.” Listening to how she was stealing and making fun of Andre, Oreta couldn’t resist anymore but to charge up her bow directed at her.
"Oreta! Don’t shoot any arrows! You may hit Andre and Joshua!” Big T stopped her before she could take the shot.
The amazoness was right beside Andnre as if she had already decided who her new toy would be. She was rubbing his chin gently with her feet before grinning back to the rest of his party members.
“Damin it!! That fucking whore did something to them! What do we do?” Oreta impatiently asked.
“Hiroki, what should we do?” Aya wondered as we were looking at them struggling to come up with a plan. Even Theresa was trying to think of something before going to fight them straight ahead.
“For now, try to keep your distance from any of those bandits… something doesn't feel right here…” I told Theresa and Aya.
“As much as I hate to agree with you, you’re right. I know for sure that Andre and his comrade aren't amature fighters to be losing that easily.” Theresa agreed with me.
While on the other hand, some of the bandits were trying to keep their distance behind the bushes, so no one would be able to escape.
If I had to say, they had a lot of trust in that amazoness.

Even her status wasn't that special, to defeat two sword wielders at the same time with ease was something unbelievable.
That's why, this only leaves me with another guess.
She must have some kind of skill that makes her strong, or something that weakens her opponents.
There were a few guesses about our situation, but as I was looking at her status, she looked straight at me. “Isn’t it rude to be staring at someone like that?” She smirked as she noticed that I was looking at her status.
“Says the one who's showing off her abs like that.” I casually responded to her, ignoring the fact that I was looking at her status.
“My abs? Are you jealous of them?” She grinned as she looked at me with pity.
“Not really. Since yours looks so deformed and ugly...” But the moment I said that, a vein popped at her forehead.
“Hiroki-bro, is the right time to be chit chatting with your enemy? We really could use a bit more help.” Said big T who has been shielding the merchant from any bandits who started throwing rocks. Those attacks weren’t life threatening, but if one of those rocks hit the merchant, they could deal some pretty bad injuries.
“Why are you just standing there?!” Even Oreta seemed to be desperate for help since she couldn't use her only weapon against that amazoness.
She felt desperate to the point of asking help to the guy who simply got mad because they were a bit late.
“Can you handle the ones from behind us?” I asked Aya and Theresa.
“Do you plan on taking everyone else by yourself?” Theresa wondered before she left with Aya.
“Are you worried about me?” I tried teasing her a little since both Aya and her were a little nervous.
“W-wha!? Who’d be worried about you!” And while trying to hide her embarrassment, they walked away from me.
“Be careful, Hiroki.” Aya warmly smiled at me, knowing that I would be fine even if I took them all by myself. That made me feel a little more confident in myself since Aya had trust that I would win.
“You too.”
Also, I’m basically invisible since no physical attacks work on me.
“Do you wish to join your friends as well?” The amazoness angrily threatened me as I was walking towards her.
I have to say that her confidence was quite big for a woman like her.
Even though she was a bandit, she must have worked quite hard to achieve those kinds of hard muscles.
“They aren't my friends. Besides, aren't you being way too confident in yourself? Or are you trying to hide something from us?” I tried provoking her as I was approaching her very steadily.
“...” Her eyebrow twitched a little, and she didn't seem to be taking me just as easy as the other ones.
“What's wrong? Don’t tell me that you suddenly want to surrender to us?” I intimidated her with my skill while staring straight into her eyes.
Sweat was slightly coming out of her forehead, but she didn't want to react from her pride.
“S-surrender?! Don't make me laugh! You think you can take us all on your own?” Even though she was holding herself back, I knew that she was intimidated by me. And I could see it from the way her hands were shivering in fear while trying to hide them from us.
“What are you doing!? Do you want to die!?” Looking at how I was planning on taking them all on my own, Oreta saw this as my own suicide.
But I didn't plan on actually listening to her.
“You should just listen to that girl over there and surrender to-” But before Asuni could finish talking, I levitated two of the swords and cut down some of the men that were behind that woman.
“-me… huh?” After noticing the swords flying behind her, Asuni looked around in confusion to see what had happened.
“Y-you BASTARD! How dare you kill my men!!!!” Her voice deepened in anger after seeing how they instantly died like that.
Even though she seemed like a dirty bitch, she still seemed to care about those bandits.
She pulled out her sword and began charging towards me as revenge for me killing those bandits.
Her attacks won't be able to reach me at all, and everyone will figure that her attacks go through me. That's why, each time she swung her sword at me, I pretended to dodge.
"Is that all you have?!" Asuni looked back and forth to her men after seeing that none of her attacks were reaching me.
"Just die already!!" She continued to throw a lot of attacks with the intention of actually killing me.
But since the fight between us was taking a lot longer than I was expecting, I decided to make my own move.
I hit her sword away with another sword by using levitation.
"H-how are you still standing?!" Sweat was dripping down her face as she was looking at me who was approaching her.
"Maybe, you should tell your men to try a stronger poison if you actually want to stop me." After being cautious of my surroundings, I managed to see and understand how they managed to rob most of the adventures.
They used some kind of poisonous sharp splinters to make adventurers unconscious. By blowing in their pipes, they could shoot those poisonous splinters from a certain distance.
"Tsk!" Asuni was becoming more cautious and anxious after seeing how I found out their tricks.
"P-poisonous?" Oreta looked at Andre in despair after hearing that they were poisoned.
"Now then, you told me to die, didn't you?" I kept getting closer to her as my voice was getting much lower.
This way only Asuni would be able to hear.
"But what if I'm already dead?" I whispered those cold words in her ear.

.
Asuni's confidence had gone over her head for the past few days. After achieving many things and stealing gear, wealth, and many more valuables from different adventures, she was sure that this group of adventurers would be no different.
But right now, she was standing in front of someone who she couldn't even manage to even fight back.
"But what if I'm already dead?"
Her mouth had gone completely dry as she was experiencing the overwhelming presence of someone beyond her understanding.
Was it confidence, anxiety, or was she actually feeling fear?

"W-what the fuck are you?" She fell to the ground, wondering what that thing was in front of her.
His bloody glowing eyes were staring right at her as if her own soul was exposed to him. And while looking closely at that boy, she noticed how his hair and skin were pure white, uncommon for a normal human.
And in that moment, a dark mist was being released making Asuni unable to think straight.
<Spooky>
Asuni's and her men's strength was almost drained after Hiroki managed to take away ten percent of their actual health.
They noticed how they were becoming tired. And what terrified them the most, was the fact that they couldn't even think of fighting back against such a thing.
To them, they saw him as an overwhelming presence of a being that shouldn't be defied.
"Tell your men to put their weapons down."
Having lost the will to continue fighting, Asuni couldn't help but listen to Hiroki.
"Everyone, p-put your stuff down!"
The other bandits looked a little confused over her sudden defeat. But they still listened to her orders. To them the amazoness was the strongest member of their band, and if she suddenly surrendered like that, then they wouldn't stand a chance against Hirokki.
"W-what do you plan on doing to me?"
Not caring what Asuni just said, Hiroki looked around and began checking at every location the other bandits were hiding. That's when Asuni saw this chance to have her first strike against Hiroki.
"Now you're done for!!!" She took the other sword lying on the ground and tried stabbing Hiroki from behind.
But in the end…
"I-impossible!" Her eyes widened in fear after seeing how her sword passed through Hiroki like he was never there.
"ASUNI-SAMA!!!"
"ASUNI-SAN!"
"BOSS!!"
"BOOOSSS!!"
All of the other bandits called out to Asuni really worried. Their voices sounded as if something bad had happened, and she couldn't understand why until she felt something burning through her stomach.
"...huh?" One of the swords had stabbed Asuni all the way through her body while blood was coming out without a rest.
"Booosssss!!!"
It didn't take long before she fell into the ground dead without reacting anymore.
"YOU MOTHERFUCKER!!! HE KILLED BOSS!!"
All of the other bandits raged in anger as they began charging towards Hiroki.
Theresa and Aya were busy with some of the other bandits from the other way around the cart. They were overwhelming most of them with different methods, making them unable to move for a while.
"Nothing good will happen by robbing innocent adventurers." Theresa told them as she kept pushing their great numbers away from the cart.
"What do you understand from our situation?! You aren't weak so you’ll never understand how the weak actually feel! We don't have a place to go to the guild, that's why we chose this kind of life!"
Theresa clenched her sword before knocking them out in anger.
One after another, they knocked out all of the bandits of that area until a lot of screams were heard from behind them.
"What happened?" Aya wondered as she turned around together with Theresa.
Hiroki was being surrounded by the remaining bandits that were trying to overwhelm him with numbers. But Hiroki still didn't budge from his position on this kind of thing.
"Go back to sleep" He used the blade of the sword to cut down all of the bandits with just a flick of his own fingers.
Big T and Oreta were stunned in fear at how their heads were flying off the bodies with ease.
And while trying to go back to the remaining party members, Theresa and Aya looked at them in worry.
"Is anyone hurt?" Aya approached the party members that were still guarding the merchant.
“We’re fine… what about you?” Big T asked the merchant after removing his massive shield that was covering him.
“I-is it over?”
“Yes, they are all… dead.”
Everyone looked stunned at the fact of how all of the bandits were brutally killed that easily. In their minds, they couldn't bring themselves to ask who that boy actually was.
Even though he introduced himself, he wasn't a known adventurer that could bring recognition to his party.
Oreta went towards the unconscious party members, and made sure that they were still breathing and without any severe injuries that could actually harm them.
“They are fine, they are just unconscious. ” Theresa let Oreta know that they were only unconscious before she could overreact. “But I never believed that they would go down that easily.” She also added.
But Oreta didn't take that kind of reaction that well. Being told that someone dear to you was actually weak, affected her feelings as someone who knew Andrea’s real strength.
“He’s not weak! He is one of the strongest and kindest guys I know!” She didn't want to accept the fact that they were defeated that easily.
“They were slowed down with this.” Hiroki showed a sharp wooden needle which contained poison with the effects of slowing someone down drastically. “Those bandits were weak to begin with. If it wasn't for their tricks, those guys would’ve won.” He also explained to them.
Seeing how his story made sense, they tried not arguing back or asking any further questions about how he found out about the poison.
“...right, the poison…” Oreta brought out some potions and handed it to everyone that might have been infected by the poisons as well.

Hiroki’s POV!
————————
From that point on, the trip continued really well. Not to mention that the rest of the party members were avoiding any possible conversation or interaction with me.
The remaining bandits that weren still alive, were tied up until we would take them to some guards.
“What did you expect would happen after killing the bandits like that?”
The one to suddenly ask that was Theresa who seemed to have noticed the sudden distance between us and the rest of our group.
“What about you? Are you angry at me for killing them?” While I still don’t regret killing those bandits, I felt like Theresa would be feeling really mad towards me
Since I basically killed a bunch of other humans without any mercy, this won't make a good guy anymore.
But what actually bothered me was the fact that I didn't feel anything while killing them.
“No... those filth deserved it for the crimes they have committed. They say that they only robbed adventurers, but I’m sure that they had captured one or two adventures and played with them.”
I felt reassured, knowing that Theresa wasn't feeling any negative feelings against my actions.
“I’m glad… I thought you’d hate me for killing another human being.” But what I just said confused Theresa.
She weirdly looked at me for a moment before replying.
“Why would you think that? If your life is in danger, it's a normal thing to act back to the person threatening your life. Especially if the ones are criminals who have committed numerous crimes.
Raping girls without a care, and robing poor villagers who have no one to rely to…”
This world had the same concept as in the middle ages of my own world. And Theresa was right to be confused because I mixed up my own common sense with theris.
“I guess you are right.” And after she saw my confirmation of her explanation, she looked ahead as she continued walking by my side.
“That's a given.”
I have to admit that even though she acts harshly with me, she has gotten more comfortable with me being around her.
“You are much stronger than you think.” Her eyes widened in surprise the moment I said that to her. It almost felt as if I had found a weak spot of hers.
“W-what's with you so suddenly?” Her cheeks blushed in embarrassment, seeing how calmly I suddenly praised her.
But on the other hand, Aya was blankly staring at me as she was close to my side.
Her adorable eyes were irresistible, making me feel more at ease of the actions I took some moments ago.
"You're strong as well." I gently rubbed Aya's head since she looked like a kid who was jealous of another person.
This has become a bad habit of me patting her head, and I couldn't seem to get enough of her satisfied reaction.
.
..
…
By the time we arrived at the gate between the walls that surrounded Holl Town, it was already dark, and it wouldn't be surprising if monsters would suddenly attack us.
There were several guards at the main gate of the town, guarding and watching for any unusual activities that might risk the entire city.
"You right there, state your purpose for coming here!" One of the guards ordered us the moment we got closer. Even though they should know that most people coming here are adventurers in order to protect the city, they still were careful with who they let inside.
"I've brought weapons and armour. I'm sure that many adventurers and knights could use these." The merchant calmly explained as he showed his stuff he had brought on his cart.
"You may enter."
Entering the city was much easier than we had expected. Maybe that was because, not only were we vouched by the merchant, but also they were in need for more adventures.
"Everyone, I give you my greatest gratitude for not abandoning me during the trip here." The merchant bowed down his head, after arriving at his destination.
"No, you don't have to bow. It was all thanks to Hiroki and his group that you and I are still alive. You should be thanking him." Andre was already awake and couldn't seem to take credit for that.
But since we were already done with that, both me and Theresa had already left without saying anything.
.
..
…
"Was it really okay to leave like that?" Aya worriedly asked.
"We're already at our destination and we don't have anything to do with them. They also ignored us even though we basically did most of the work."
"But even so…" Even though those guys acted like that, Aya still had the heart to treat others with care.
"It's getting late and I'm sure they are trying to find a place to stay for the night. If you want, we can just look for them tomorrow."
That was basically a lie with the hope that Aya would basically forget about that group of adventurers. While they haven't done anything wrong, I felt like they were unnecessary people to be around.
.
..
We managed to find quite the comfortable looking place where we could spend the night. Unfortunately, there was only one room left with two beds in it.
"Well take it."
"Wait! You don't plan on staying in the same room as me, do you?"
"It's really dark outside and you girls probably need to rest. We were lucky to even find a single room for the two of you, that's why we don't have any other choice." I said after confirming the payment with the receptionist who seemed to be listening to us.
"...."
Theresa seemed to be having second thoughts about this as she tried thinking of something. But in the end, she gave up and decided to give me a few rules.
"Alright, but if you don't agree to these rules, then I'll immediately kill you!" She took a breath before saying the rules.
But I’m already dead, you know? That's what I wanted to tell her.
"Don't try to approach me for more than 5 meters. I know you can't sleep, that's why, keep looking the other way while we change! And whatever you do, don't peek at me while I sleep."
I found those rules a bit weird at first, because Theresa has slept together with Aya in the same room together with me guarding them. And she has never acted like that before.
Maybe she had a change of heart about me?
…
But soon enough, after I thought that everyone would be asleep, I began hearing weird noises coming from behind me.
"...ah..mhh, n-no…."
Even though I pretended not to listen, I thought that Theresa was in the middle of mastrubating.
Why would she do that here, fully knowing that I’m in the same room as her?
And since I didn't want to get myself too excited and accidentally activate my 'curse' skill, I tried distracting myself by looking out the window.
And that's what I did for one hour straight until Theresa tired herself to sleep.
I had to say that the room had become much quieter, and my ears were more sensitive than usual. Even the smallest sounds that couldn't be noticed, I was able to hear.
"...?" And that's how things continued to be until I heard some strange noises coming from outside.
It looked like more than several people were running from the top of the buildings.
“...”
From a distance, jumping over the buildings were some people who seemed to be looking for something. I didn't know who or what they were doing, but their clothes were definitely suspicious.
They were an unusual bunch, and I knew that they weren't guards or adventurers.
At first I thought they were bandits trying to sneak away, but the moment I caught a glimpse of their head, I was astonished.
"...a demon?"
