With the looks of a mystical being, their silky hair waved from the sudden breeze as the moon’s light shone all over them. Their eyes pierced through the darkness of the night as they were looking around.
Are they looking for something?
Without trying to wake any of the girls, I quietly went through the walls and tried going near those demons.
<Stealth>
And as I was getting closer, I noticed that their eye pupils were much different from normal humans. Just like special animals and legendary monsters I knew, their pupils were vertical, similarly to dragons and many predator animals.
“There’s nothing in this section as well.” The one to inform that was wearing a cloak which was covering his whole body.
“Did you check all of the houses?” The other demon asked with its emotionless voice that seemed to have gone through many hardships his entire life.
“Yes, I guess it was a failure for this tow-'' But before he could finish his sentence, he looked towards the direction I was hiding. “Who’s there!?”
I immediately hid myself within the wall before he would be able to locate me. Even though I am a ghost, those demons were able to detect my presence even for a bit.
"..."
"..."
Even the other demons were being cautious after thinking that someone might be spying on them.
"...must’ve been a random bug… anyway, we should probably go back and report this."
And in an instant, those demons vanished in the darkness of the streets, leaving no signs of ever being in here.
Since I didn't want to stay away from the girls for too long, I decided to head back to the room.
.
..
…
….
As I continued staying in the lookout the whole night, the first morning's sun rays finally shone around the horizon.
The feeling of a new day was different now that I no longer was a human. It made me think how fast days passed by, and how I no longer could go back to my old world.
But enjoying the beginning of this new morning didn't last for long.
The ground began shaking continuously as if nature had finally decided to give an end to this whole town.
The earthquake was similar to the one I had experienced back in Japan, but somehow… the way the ground was shaking, felt as if it was caused by countless troops marching at the same time.
*Ding* *Ding* *Ding* *Ding* *Ding*
In the distance I could hear a bell ringing without a rest, waking up all of the people from the sleep, and adventurers who had been awake since yesterday.
“...so it finally began…” I said to myself as I turned around in order to prepare myself.
.
..
…
Many people of this town were already preparing their own stuff in order to evacuate from this town. There was a high chance that this place would be destroyed in case all of the adventurers were to be defeated.
“Are you guys ready?”
By my side were Aya and Theresa who were immediately woken up from the vibrations of the ground.
“A real warrior is always ready.” Theresa said after making sure that all of her stuff was in check.
“I’m also ready!” And Aya who seemed to be a little nervous about this battle.
“Let's go then.”
Many people were freaking out as we were running towards the direction where all of the adventurers were going. From here, I noticed their faces filled with fear and their kids who didn't seem to understand what was going on right now.
“We'll act as we discussed. And the moment you find yourself in a tight situation, fall back, no question asked.”
Even though we were about to go against a whole army of monsters, I wasn't feeling as nervous as I thought I would.
“Yeah.”
“Y-yes!”
.
The moment we went outside of the town’s gate, I could see in the distance an insane amount of monsters who were in a rush to arrive at their destination.
In front of all the adventurers was a particular guy. “Remember this, brave warriors! Those who kill most of the bastards, will receive an immense reward that can live the rest of their lives without any worry.” He suddenly said out loud.
""""""“YEAAAHHH!!!!”""""""
"""""“WOHHHHH!!!”"""""
“DO NOT FEAR!!! VICTORY WILL BE OURS!!”
And just like in the battles I have seen in movies, the whole army of humans began running towards our common enemy.
Many brave adventurers had their swords clenched in their hands as a great war was about to begin any second now.
“ATAAAAAAACK!!!” The fearless voice of that sole man gave courage to many adventurers who were eager to fight thousands of monsters which were covering the whole air into dust.
“Hold on tight” Since we were behind the whole group of adventurers, I decided to use one of my other ideas that I’ve been saving up my sleeve.
I’m not sure if it's going to work, but If I can lift a significant boulder off the ground, then it shouldn't be hard to lift up the girls on top of it.
“W-what is happening?!” Theresa panicked a little, thinking that something was about to attack us from underneath. But soon enough she noticed as the ground underneath us was being lifted into the air.
"We're going up?"
And based on how high we were going, then that means it was a success.
The place underneath our feet was stable and there didn't seem to be any balance issues.
"We're going to crush those monsters from the other side."
From what I could see from here, there were thousands of monsters that didn't seem to have an end.
But when I looked behind me, I saw how Aya’s eyes were sparkling in excitement. She was looking down below where all of the monsters and adventurers were fighting as if it was an exciting thing to see.
“Theresa, are you okay?” But on the other hand, Theresa was standing still without moving from her position. It felt like she was rock frozen while trying to avoid looking down.
And as soon as I got near her, she hugged my arm, trying to hold onto me.
“D-don't let go of me!”
Even though this was the first time she touched me on her own, her eyes were trying not to look elsewhere but the rock where we were standing. And she didn't seem to realize that she was getting this close to me.
“You're going to be safe, so don't worry.” But no matter what I said, it didn't seem to be going to her head.
“A-are you sure? We won't fall, right?!” She asked one more time as she tightened my arm around her chest without noticing it. An unbelievable feeling of softness was being wrapped on my arm.
No, wait! I don’t have time to get distracted.
“Yeah, you’ll be fine. I promise.” And since I knew that she was going to be fine, I let her be until we would begin with our main plan.
.

Meanwhile, as all of the adventurers were fighting to death against thousands of monsters, a significant shadow was going above the troopes.
Most of the adventurers and soldiers thought that it was another monster flying above their heads, almost letting their guards down. But as soon as they noticed what it actually was, their eyes widened in astonishment.
“Are you seeing what I’m seeing…” One of the guards who was firing arrows from a distance, asked the guy beside him.
“Y-yeah… what is that?”
And since it was flying away from the town’s direction, no one had the time to think of it as a threat to their battle which was going right in front of them.
“I… I don’t know. I’ve never seen something like this in my whole life.”
Many other soldiers were also looking at that unusual sight which almost distracted them from the battle. Many of the adventurers got injured because of that as well.
…
But differently from many other humans, watching from afar was an old man wearing robes of someone with special class as he was staying at the edge of a cliff.
His white beard and hair which matched the gray color of his eyes seem to be fixated on the floating rock as well.
“Such magic… It's just…. so beautiful...” That old man grinned in excitement as his eyes were looking thousands of meters away from it. But thanks to a special magic lens, he could see who was controlling the floating rock, together with the girls beside him.

Hiroki’s POV!
————————
After making sure that we were far enough from the rest of the adventurers, we landed on top of hundreds of monsters who could barely react from the sudden death which was coming from above them.
“Now!” I informed both Theresa and Aya before the massive rock could crush into the ground.
““Yes!””
And on my command, both the girls and I jumped away from there and landed on some massive bears who had long fur to soften their landing.

And after the rock smashed down quite a bit of them, I immediately tried weakening all of the monsters around us so Aya and Theresa would have time to warm up before going all out.

“Make sure not to go overboard.”
And just like that, Theresa began cutting down monsters with her massive sword while Aya used her speed to instantly damage the weakest parts of them using her dagger.
Both of them had an interesting way of watching each other's back as they continued taking down one monster after another.
Me on the other hand, possessed the strongest looking monster that was near me and began massacring them all just like a monster would.
I had complete control of this new body and somehow, I could understand how it worked.

There were many weird looking monsters that I had never seen before, but this one massive bird that didn't have any feathers or fur, was using its voice to cause distraction to me.
Even its beak was impressively long. But as I thought it wasn't a big deal, the monster I was possessing was cut in half.

The feeling of death was no longer a thing that I worried about… That's why I didn't react after experiencing death once again while possessing another monster.
Just as that weird monster was celebrating after killing the monster I was possessing, It stood in confusion after looking at my real body.
<Fear Implant>
A weird looking mist was coming out of my body while my eyes were asking for more blood from these foolish monsters standing around me.
I could feel myself becoming stronger each time I died while possessing another monster.

Understanding that I shouldn't be taken lightly, many monsters of the same rank attacked me directly at the same time.
While fire would be shot towards me, many other monsters used their peculiar skills to get rid of me as quickly as possible.
From around me, significant dust, smoke and many gases were flowing around, caused by many attacks of those monsters.
<Stealth>
Thanks to that, I managed to possess one of those monsters without being spotted. Controlling a body without having them noticed, made it much easier for me. That's another reason why I acted really fast.

I didn't have time to figure out what It actually was, that's why I continued using this monster to its limits.
There didn't seem to be an end to these monsters, but I didn't stop there. Just like a soul with no attachments to the physical body, I continued possessing many other monsters after straining their body and skills to the fullest.
But even using other physical bodies, my mental strength was going down a lot faster than before.

In the front lines were all of the adventurers and fighters who were fighting for their lives, glory, or simply for fun.
They noticed a significant decrease of monsters which made their battles much easier. Even the ranks of those monsters coming towards them were rather weak.
“There are some people fighting in the middle of the monsters!” A girl who has been using her magic to heal injured adventures, noticed some humans who seem to be fighting hundreds of monsters at the same time.
“Show me.” And beside her, a man wearing different kinds of clothes told her. It was obvious that he had the highest authority between the many healers and adventurers that were coming there.
“Yes, guildmaster!”
And in the next moment, a transparent screen appeared on top of her hands which showed a clear view of who was fighting in that area of monsters.
“There are two girls and a boy fighting in that zone. I don’t recognize any of them, and they don't seem to be in any of the wanted criminals list.” That girl explained as she was comparing the facial features of those three.
“Then, they must be adventurers from another guild.” The guild master thought for a bit before leaving that place. “Make sure to bring those adventurers to me when they finish.”
The way he casually spoke, making it sound as if he was sure that they would win against monsters no matter what.
“....” And after that girl made sure that the guild master was far enough, she let out a sigh of frustration. “Geez! Just how much work is he going to give me!?!!”
She let out another sigh after looking at the screen.
[But I wonder who that boy is. The way he fights is like a magician, but somehow…. I can’t recognize any of his skills or magic… Not to mention his stealth skill, it's almost as if he becomes invisible…] That girl thought to herself as she continued looking at Hiroki massacring many monsters without even touching them.

Hiroki’s POV!
————————
The endless battle between these monsters was continuing for much longer than I had thought. The ground was almost filled with the blood of all monsters that I had killed.
My sense of smell was already getting used to the smell of blood and the stinky smell of monsters.
And if I had to say, my mind was becoming much lighter than usual.
I wasn't sure if it was because of overusing my skills, but I didn't feel tired mentally anymore.
More like, it felt like I was experiencing a long dream that I would be waking up back at my own world. My senses were getting messed up and I couldn't seem to think straight…
“Hiroki!... Hiroki!!” From a distance I could hear Theresa’s voice calling out to me.
I wasn't focusing on anything other than killing all of these monsters nonstop while looking at my stats as they kept increasing each time I defeated a monster.

I could no longer hear their voices anymore. What I wanted to do right now was to kill as many of these bastards as I could.
Each time I killed them, an euphoric feeling flew inside me. It was as if it was telling me that it needed more blood!

More flesh to be cut down to many pieces!

“Theresa! Hiroki isn’t responding!!” Aya worriedly said to her after she tried calling him many times.
Monsters seemed to be more interested in attacking Hiroki rather than Aya and Theresa. That's the reason they found the chance to call out to him about this situation.
“I know, monsters suddenly stopped attacking us for some reason. And now they are all going towards him.” Theresa explained as she was looking at how Hiroki was managing to destroy all of the opponents that were approaching him.
WIth the looks of a normal boy, and the power of an invincible ghost, he overtook countless monsters without taking a single scratch. (Ik he’s a ghost)
“I don’t care! I have to help him!” Even though Aya knew that Hiroki couldn't take a single injury, she couldn't handle the fact that her loved one was fighting on his own.
“Hold on Aya.” But before Aya could head towards him, she was stopped by Theresa who seemed to be concerned about her. “There are many monsters near Hiroki. We’re only going to slow him down if we go near him.”
But deep down, she was feeling the urge to help Hiroki as soon as she saw that many monsters in one spot. And she couldn't help but try to hold herself back from doing anything reckless.
“Hiroki…”
What they were seeing right now was how Hiroki was overwhelming all of these monsters at once without slowing down.
Many rocks and pebbles were flying around Hiroki at an insane speed, causing each monster to be crushed or even cut to many pieces.
And in the middle of that massacre stood Hiroki with a grin on his face. His face no longer looked like someone who resembled a human anymore…
And after countless monsters were turned into experience for Hiroki’s stats, the rest of the monsters began running away.
Even the adventures that were trying to defend this town were confused on why the rest of the monsters were going away.
With nothing else but victory in their minds, they all celebrated in excitement about their win.
"""""""WOOOHHHHH!!!"""""""
"WE WON!!"
"NOTHING CAN STOP US!!"
But what laid hundreds of meters away from them, was another potential threat that had scared away all of the remaining monsters…
Hiroki was standing still between the pile of dead monsters which were slowly turning into dust.
His eyes glew in the color of red just like the blood of countless monsters he had killed with a smile on his face.
"Hiroki, wake up!!" Aya immediately ran towards Hiroki after seeing that he wasn't reacting to anything.
And just like that, Theresa followed after her as well.
"H-Hiroki, say something!" Aya began tearing up that he still wasn't giving a proper response to her.
He continued grinning as he was showing signs of wanting to kill more monsters and turn them into more power. Aya on the other hand was crying right in front of him even though he didn't respond at all.
There was a voice calling out to Hiroki, but the words never reached him in the end.
"Theresa! Hiroki! H-He's not responding!" Seeing how Aya was bursting into tears, she couldn't just leave them be like that.
A feeling of protectiveness and sadness was going through her, until Theresa slowly hugged Hiroki from behind him.
"For how long do you think you're going to ignore Aya?" Her breasts pressed against his back as she relaxed herself on Hiroki.
Was this a kind of kindness or was this a new feeling that she wasn experiencing right now?
Theresa didn’t know, but she knew that this was the right thing to do as she felt the urge to help Hiroki snap out of it.
He wasn’t like this! He wouldn’t ignore her. He also wouldn't ignore Aya… Not her…

Hiroki’s POV!

I was disoriented about my current situation. At first I was fighting monsters, and the next thing I knew… I had completely lost it.
My own desire had taken complete control over my emotions and spiritual body.

A warm feeling was being wrapped around my whole body. My mind was calm and I felt like I was about to wake up from another dream.
"...Aya?" Aya was the first thing I saw when I opened my eyes. She was hugging me from the front with all of her might.
"Hiroki?" She looked up at me worried that something had happened to me.
Even from behind me, I could feel the warmth of Theresa's body being pressed against me.
"What happened?" I asked as Theresa let go of me while Aya continued rubbing her face against me.
"You were acting differently." Theresa said calmly without mentioning the thing she was doing a few moments ago to me.
So what I had feared was true?
I have been thinking this for awile, but I never knew whether it was true or just me being paranormal… Since the beginning I’ve been thinking how I’ve been sane now that I was a ghost… It just was weird for me…
Many ghosts from what I know would lose their memories and become beings who don't resemble humans anymore.
I'm not sure what exactly happened to me, but thanks to these two, I managed to wake up once again.
"Thank you." I said to Theresa after seeing how she acted when she saw me in that state.
"I only did this for Aya, so don't get any wrong ideas." She said to me as she averted her eyes away. Her expression had softened, and she didn't seem to hold any grudge against me.
Actually, I felt like she was much closer to me.
On the other hand, Aya didn't let go of me. She continued hugging me with all of her might, saying that she didn't want to let me go.
But even at times like this, the battle wasn't over…
From here, I felt the presence of countless monsters gathering in one place. It was one of the things that I have never felt before.
Even Theresa seemed to have noticed the sudden change in the monster's behaviour.
"Everyone, get ready…" I informed Aya and Theresa as I was seeing all of these monsters merging with each other until they became one giant dark being. "Seems like we're not done yet."
