“Kekeke, I have to say that it's been awhile since I’ve felt like this.” The female demon said as she licked her own bloody hand clean. From here I could see her sharp looking teeth, which were unusual even for all the demons I have seen until now.
“Everyone, don’t let your guard down.” Theresa warned us as we were looking at how that demon had the same evil looking smile on her face.
I immediately levitated different weapons I could find in order to take that demon down.
“Keke, that's not going to work!” The demon laughed at me as she used her long sharp nails to cut in half every attack that I threw at her.
“I know…” I responded back as everyone backed away from their position. “But that will.”
The demon looked back, only to find a flying Theresa coming from above while swinging her massive sword as hard as she could.
The fact there was barely any noise coming from Theresa, almost caught that demon off guard but she still managed to dodge the attack.
What was left in the ground was an incredibly massive crater. Rocks and all kinds of projectiles flew away from the force, almost destroying everything in its radius.
“Theresa is really strong…” Aya said in amazement as she was watching together with me at a safe distance from the impact.
“Missed.” Theresa said with a serious tone on her breath after seeing that there was no success in killing her target.
“You damn human! How dare you!” The demon glared back at Theresa as she noticed how many projectiles from the impact had damaged and grazed her skin all over her naked body.
Her dark tanned body which was covered with the lord’s blood, was slowly being mixed up with her own blood.
But now that Theresa landed her first attack, it was time for the rest of us to continue what he had discussed.
Without leaving that demon a chance to even recover, everyone took turns to damage or even badly injure that demon without letting it recover from it.
Theresa, swinging her heavy sword in order to cut in half the demon.
Kaito and the girl beside him, leaving her with many injuries and grazes without instantly killing the demon, and me which kept blocking that demon’s sight without any rest while staying close with Aya.
“DON'T GET COCKY WITH ME!!!! YOU FUCKING HUMANS!!!” The dark skinned demon let out a loud noise, pushing everyone away with her voice.
Even though most of us let our emotions deal with our actions, everyone was unfazed by the sudden change of the demon who finally decided to not underestimate everyone just because they were humans.
“You think we’re cocky? Don’t misunderstand us… We’re simply giving you back everything that you did to everyone in this town.” The amethyst eyed girl with red hair beside Kaito spoke.
While some were trying to get any kind of information from that female demon, some were trying to let their own anger control their body.
They wanted to make that demon experience everything that it has done to this city.
Kaito also had a serious look on his face, different from his friendly one as he was taking a deep long breath before his body flashed, moving at an insane speed towards the female demon and cutting her legs off.
“GHAAA!!!! YOU DAMN HUMAN!!” The demon let out a pained voice, as she tried getting up, not releasing that her legs were completely gone.
“It's pointless to struggle.” Seeing the pitiful state of that demon, I approached her after I instructed Aya and Theresa to stay behind me. “So why don’t you make this easier for yourself and tell us where the other demons are hiding?”
Kaito and his companion also understood what I was trying to do. And since they knew that I was a ghost, they weren't worried about me approaching the demon this close.
But after the demon saw me approaching her this carelessly, she let out a smile, ignoring the fact that her legs were cut off.
“Fine, I’ll tell you where they are. But you need to bring me with you or the other demons won’t show themselves.” The once prideful expression on her face immediately changed into a pitiful one after she heard me asking the whereabouts of the other demons.
I looked back at Kaito and the rest of the group so I could confirm whether to listen to this demon or not. And from what I was looking at, both Theresa and Kaito nodded in agreement as we knew that this demon’s life was in our hands.
We expected that these demons would be much stronger than we had thought, that's why we had more confidence than before in case more demons would be attacking us.
“Alright, then lead the way.” Theresa glared at the naked demon.
But the demon blankly looked at her as a wry smile appeared on her face. “My legs are ruined, so you won't mind if I fly?”
“If you try to escape, then you’ll regret it!” Theresa threatened with an intimidation tone in her voice.
“Kekeke, my strength isn't enough to escape.” The demon reassured with pleading eyes.
But from the way this demon was acting… something definitely feels off…
The way she’s acting and making things easier for her seems like she is preparing some kind of trap in order to kill all of us at the same time.
.
..
And as the demon explained to us, some kind of circle formed under her, making her able to slowly float in the air like my skill 'levitation'.
[Be careful, there might be some kind of trap waiting for us.] I warned Theresa and Aya telepathically since I knew that a demon wouldn't suddenly act this way towards a human, even if it meant its own life.
[I know…]
[Yes!]
Both of the girls seemed to be aware of the situation as well and they had already embraced themselves about the current situation.
But Katio and the amethyst girl beside him seemed more focused on locating the other demons rather than being a bit cautious about this situation.
We were led into an abandoned village which seemed deserted without any animals, dead crops, and destroyed houses. But what made this place suspicious was the fact that it was way too quiet and no monsters or animals could be sensed around.
“Is this where the rest of the demons are hiding?” The black haired boy asked, his sword ready to cut the demon down in case it was wasting our time.
“Keke…Kekekekek, KAKAKAKAKAK!!” But to everyone’s surprise, the female demon laughed out in a creepy way as if she had hit her head really badly.
“What's so funny?!” Theresa glared at the demon who didn't seem to stop laughing.
“KEKEKEKEKEKEKKEKEKEKAKKAKAKAK!!!”
But no one seemed to understand whether this demon had lost it, or it was because she was continuously losing blood from her cut legs.
“KEKEK! YOU ALL HUMANS LOST THE MOMENT YOU FOLLOWED ME HERE! YOU ALL SHALL FEEL THE WRATH OF MY LORD!!!!” The demon loudly shouted at us before she took a deep breath while the rest of us took a step back from the amount of dark energy she was releasing.
For a moment I thought that this demon was going to self-destruct, but once she gathered all of that energy, she let out a really loud screeching noise, almost injuring everyone’s eardrums.
The sky was changing into a dark red color as a beam of light was coming out of the demon’s mouth.
And as soon as the sky cleared up, someone seemed to be appearing out of the light.
It was another kind of demon with long white hair, and red dark eyes that seem powerful enough to intimidate anyone with a stare.
"My lord!" The demon’s cheeks reddened as she was looking up at the emotionless, yet prideful demon who was looking down at her.
"My lord, you have to help me! Those damn humans interfered with our plans! You have to kill them!" The female demon told him as she was looking with expecting, yet respected eyes.
But what she didn't expect was the hand which was thrusted right in the middle of her chest, ripping her body apart.
"You've failed. Your only job was to not get found. Now look at the shape you've ended up in."
The female demon looked at the hand which had ripped her own body like that, only to realize it was the very same demon she held that much respect for.
"My lord… why…" Her eyes lost their light as her last breath was taken away by the emotionless look of her so-called lord.
The lord glanced back at us, finding out that none of us were planning on running away from here.
"She was with you. Why did you kill her?!" Not understanding why a demon killed its own kind, Kaito glared at this demon whose hair almost reached all the way down to his lower back.
"Why, you ask? Because she deemed herself to be useless to me." His powerful and calm voice responded as he looked back at all of us.
From the way he was looking at us, he was definitely checking out how strong each of us were.
But that was until his eyes stopped at where I was.
Then, his eyes stopped where Kaito was with an amused look on his face.
Other than his boss-like appearance, this demon didn't have any aura at all.
He must be controlling it in some kind of way so his presence won't be detected.
I noticed the way that demon suddenly moved, that's why I tried calling out to where Kaito was.
"Kai–" But I wasn't fast enough.
The demon had charged towards Kaito at a speed which even my eyes couldn't follow.
"-to!!"
In the next moment, I saw Kaito on the other side who had blocked the demon’s punch with his sword.
His hands were trembling as he was trying not to lose his strength from the insane punch of that demon.
"He's fast!" Theresa gave an annoyed glance at the demon as she commented at the unmatchable speed of the demon.
"Hiroki, we should be careful… he's dangerous." Aya also spoke with a worried and concerned tone in her voice, both of her daggers ready to block any blind and fast attack from our opponent.
“Get away from him!” Shouted the amethyst eyes girl as she tried punching that demon away from Kaito. But to her surprise, her fast and deadly punch was caught easily by that demon without even bothering to look at her.
“You call that a punch?” The demon asked as he softly glared at the girl who was caught by the unfazed expression on the demon’s look.
“Kiera! Dodge!!” Kaito shouted as hard as he could the moment he noticed what was going to happen in the next millisecond.
“H-huh?” Being barely able to react to what Kaito was being concerned about, the red haired girl was punched away by the demon’s bare fist. Her body, which couldn't resist the force of the punch, was crushed somewhere far into a village house.
“Now that disruptions are gone, let's return back to where we were, shall we?” The demon looked back at Kaito without a care about what he had done to that girl.
But Kaito on the other hand had his eyes wide open as he was looking at where his girl was crushed.
From here I could see that she was badly injured and she didn't seem to be moving anymore.
“YOU BASTARD!! I’LL KILL YOU!!!” Kaito threatened at the top of his lungs as his body moved in a sonic way, only leaving a trail of afterimage of his own body.
While Kaio was keeping the demon busy, I instructed both Aya and Theresa to check on that girl who crashed into the wall.
“Even your speed is amazing! This was truly a blessing given by our king!” The demon smiled in astonishment at the speed that Kaito was moving at.
But Kaito was really pissed and angry at that demon, and he didn't seem to want any more information out of this higher ranking demon.
And I agree with Kaito’s decision. This demon was way too dangerous to be left alive. Especially if this demon was the one who has been behind everything in this town.
He didn't even care about its own kind, let alone its enemies.

Other than his name and race, everything else in his status were all locked up.
This could have two meanings right now…
Either this demon has some kind of skill preventing me from peeking into his status, or this demon… is simply way too strong even for my skill to analyze him.
At this moment Kaito kept moving and clashing his sword in every part of that demon's body. But to my surprise, none of the attacks seemed to be reaching his skin. It was as if he had some kind of barrier protecting himself from any kind of physical attacks.
“Kaito, fall back!” I called out to Kaito after seeing how he wasn't stopping his fast jumps between all of his swings.
And without wasting any more time, Kaito took some steps behind, making it easier for me to use my own skills.
“Lets see if non physical skills can reach you.” And after having prepared an incredible amount of fireballs around me within a second, I shot them all towards our target who still hasn't moved from his spot.
It made me a bit angry that this demon was cocky enough to underestimate us this much without even taking an effort to dodge our attacks. But thanks to that, all of my fireballs managed to land a clear hit on that demon.
Or that's what I thought…
This demon had managed to cut off all of my fireballs with his bare hands without even receiving any injuries from it.
“I expected more from you… I guess you are a failure.”
If neither me and Kaito couldn't even injure him even for a bit, I can’t imagine him defeating him just yet. I wouldn't say that we weren’t underestimating him as well.
This high demon is the real deal compared to the rest of the demons we have fought so far.
But what is bothering me right now is how this demon kept talking about me and Kaito. Why does he keep talking at us as if we were nothing else but an experiment to him?
Kaito gritted his teeth in anger after seeing how none of us could manage to reach him.
“Kaito.” I called out to him after seeing how he was beginning to act based on how he felt. If he continues to act like that, then it's a matter of time where he’ll die by that demon.
I’m only concerned because I was once in Kaito’s shoes…
“I know.” He replied, being aware of what he was doing.
But what seemed to bother Kaito was that this demon wasn't doing anything yet.
The demon wasn't even considering this fight even seriously. And this pissed off not only me but Kaito as well.
I still have a trump card at the moment, but I still don't want to risk revealing it just yet. At least not until we weaken that demon.
“If none of you aren’t coming to me, then don’t mind if I show one of my tricks.” That demon spoke after letting both of his arms loose.
Sparks were coming out of his hands before we noticed a sudden change in atmosphere. The sky was becoming gray because of the louds covering it up.
From here I glanced back at where the girls were, noticing that they were still trying to heal up that girl. But from what I could tell, her injuries were not life threatening.
“I call this ability ‘-Unbreaking Freeze-’. It can slowly freeze anyone to death if they aren’t moving at all.
You are reading story Summoned as a Ghost in another world at novel35.com
You see, this one is one of my favorites when dealing with extraordinary humans like you two. ”
Wait, did this demon not realize that I’m a ghost? Or wait…
I think I know what's up! And thanks to this kind of misunderstanding, my trump card will surely catch that demon off guard.
Since I couldn't feel the coldness of his ability, I tried glancing at Kaito. He seemed fine as well, but that wasn't going to last for any longer.
Even though I can’t feel the coldness, I could sense how the temperatures were getting lower each second.
“You keep calling us extraordinary humans? What makes you say that? Or do you have that much free time to waste with us?” I tried reasoning with this demon since he seemed more talkative than the other female demon who only wanted us dead.
But that demon simply gave me a soft glare before he looked back towards Kaito, uninterested in fighting with me anymore.
“Why are you not responding? Or did that great king of yours shove it up your ass?” Kaito also provoked the demon, not noticing how his skin on his face was beginning to freeze.
“Hahahaha–” The demon laughed, before in an instant he jumped towards Kaito with the intention of punching him on his stomach. “--Don’t you dare disrespect our king.”
Kaito’s body was thrown away from the force of that demon’s punch.
Since he was still focused on seeing how far Kaito was pushed, I took this opportunity to surprise attack this demon.
I levitated every rock I could find with my vision and shot several massive fireballs which could almost melt the snow. But unfortunately, the low temperatures kept decreasing once again.
“Hm?” The demon was caught off guard but thanks to his barrier, none of my attacks were effective.
“Your weak attacks are useless against m–”
But that's what I was intending when I used most of my mental strength to shoot all of my attacks directed at his face. And since I knew that It wasn't going to injure that demon, I used those skills as a way to temporarily block that demon’s eyes.
And right before the smoke and dirt was clearing up from his face, I used this opportunity to go towards him with the intention of punching him.
“It's useless, your fist will never rea–?”
But what he didn’t expect was that I was a ghost, and no barrier would be able to prevent me from anything.
“--W-wha?!” That demon’s eyes widened in surprise as he noticed how my fist easily went through his barrier without even cracking it.
Even though I was moving as fast as I could, in that demon’s eyes I must have looked really slow. But my intention right now, was to make him at least not underestimate me.
Seeing how I was about to reach his skin, that demon jumped some meters away from me while forming some kind of sharp iced form of gloves over his hands.
“Why doesn't my barrier work on you?” The demon asked me as his eyes were not budging away from where I was standing after I clearly missed his face.
Alright, seems like it worked!
By pretending to punch that demon, I managed to get him worked up when in reality I can’t even touch him at all.
“Feel like taking me a little more seriously now?” I smirked the moment I saw how that demon was struggling to understand what I just did.

Thanks to this skill’s level increasing, now even people with appraisal or similar skill like that won’t be able to easily see through my race as a ghost.
The moment that demon called both me and Kaito humans, I immediately looked through my status to see if anything had changed.
Since I’ve been using this skill constantly, it wasn't a shock to see that it leveled up this much. And I won’t lie that it has helped me a lot when i'm interacting with humans, but also with demons like him.
"No, this is impossible. No one other than the king has managed to ignore the effects of my barrier..."
But his confusion didn’t end here after seeing how the cold temperatures were not affecting me at all.
“Maybe that's because you seem to be underestimating me a little too much. Why don’t you show me how powerful a high demon like you is? Maybe that king of yours used you as disposable trash, just like you did with that female one.”
That demon’s eyes darkened as his voice deepened from the way I was making fun of him.
“Not once, but twice… You’ve disrespected my king twice!” The usual calm voice of his was gradually disappearing the more I kept talking about that king of his.
But that was my intention.
Now that both Theresa together with the silver dragon had healed the injured girl, they immediately ran away from here.
It was a bit hard to convince Theresa to agree to the plan, but if she sees this through, then I'm sure that she’ll understand that fighting recklessly against this demon was not a good idea.
And I’m glad that she’s finally relying on us a bit more.
“So what? You keep bragging about your king when I barely know anything about him. And you called us extraordinary humans a bit ago. Were you comparing us to other humans, or were you perhaps looking for specific kinds of humans?”
“....”
No response… That demon simply narrowed his eyes as he continued staring at me with a glare, yet careful about what he was going to say or do next.
“So I am right about something?” I asked him once again, seeing how I was not getting any response.
“Why do I have to tell you about my actions? But not that it matters anymore. I’ll finish this quickly.” Two long solid frozen swords formed on his hands as he was saying that to me.
“Yeah, you’re right about that. We should finish this. I don’t want to drag this any longer.” I responded back after forming several fireballs which blocked the demon from seeing where I was.
“The same tricks won’t work once again!!” The demon loudly said after cutting off all of my fireballs with ease.
But at that point, I had bought enough time for what I had planned as a dark smoke formed from my fireballs.
“I’m not sure about that.”
Both of the demon’s swords were stopped in an instant after the smoke was cleared up.
What had blocked the frozen swords was none other than Kaito with his dark blade. His eyes were glaring at the demon, and he didn't seem to be struggling with that demon’s powerful moves.
“Where did that other human go? Did he run away?” The demon asked after looking around the place, confused about where I had gone.
“Shouldn't you be focusing on me right now?” Kaito spoke as he managed to push away the demon.
The demon was taken aback at the sudden increase in strength of the black haired boy.
And soon enough he finally caught up with what was going on with us.
"Those eyes… don't tell me!" His eyes widened in surprise to see the sudden changes in Kaito’s body.
Right now, I was possessing Kaito in order to provide him with support.
Since I couldn't use some of my skills without a host, I talked about this with Kaito before we explained our plan.
"But that's impossible. How can a ghost be sane? Our king never mentioned anything like this. It shouldn't be possible!"
Right now I was looking from Kaito’s perspective while I had enchanted both of his clothes and weapons. From his clothes I could clearly notice how a dark mist was being emitted.
[Do you think we can beat him?] Kaito suddenly asked after trying to hide his trembling fists by grabbing his sword tighter.
[From what we can tell, this type of demon specializes in ice skills. His body is sturdy and his barrier is almost invincible. But… even if his barrier is unbreakable, that won't mean that he'll resist the force of our clash. Besides, I'll provide you with assistance, so don't hold back.]
I felt Kaito smirking after saying that to him.
Until now, I saw him as a cliche kind of guy who knew how to manipulate or trick people with the way he talked. I wouldn't be surprised if he was keeping a facade the whole time but… for the first time, I felt how normal he was.
A normal human boy from the same world as me…
Even though he was scared, he still wanted to defeat the evil from this world.
Now I truly understood why Kaito got the chance of being summoned as an overpowered hero while I, on the other hand, became a ghost.
"My king would have known if a failure turned out to be a ghost. If he knew, then why didn't he tell me? Was I untrustworthy? Or maybe this is something beyond my King's knowledge? No, my king knows everything. I shouldn't be talking about him that way. I have to kill them right here, right no–"
Since that demon was trying to figure out what was going on, me and Kaito decided to land our next hit.
This time there was no holding back at all.
"Ghaak!!!" That demon let out a pained voice as his body shook from the impact of the sword clashing on his barrier.
Even though his barrier was indestructible, he won't be able to resist the force of our swings.
We continued going towards that demon and kept landing hits over the barrier from every direction.
"Don't look down on me!" The demon cursed under his breath as a pair of broken wings formed behind his back.
But still, me and Kaito didn't stop there. We continued charging despite the sudden drop in temperature.
I wasn't worrying about it before, but I saw how Kaito’s clothes were hardening from the low temperatures.
But that didn't matter right now.
From behind us we dodged a long lasting firebreath which immediately melted down the ice around us.
"A silver winged dragon? Why is one of them here?!" The demon took a step back after seeing how all of his ice was melted by one of the dragons standing some meters behind us.
After taking a glance back, it seems like Kiera was also healed.
Right now, I could even feel the relief Kaito felt after seeing his lover back on her feet.
"Why, you ask? Didn't your kind brainwash a great amount of dragons?" I spoke using Kaito’s body. "You see the king of all dragons is holding a grudge against the demons, so it's not surprising that his daughter would be with us."
The demon clenched his teeth and fist before flying in the sky.
An immense energy was being formed from within his body, and we knew that this demon was about to unleash a dangerous attack.
[Kaito, have you ever played 'whirlybird'?] I telepathically asked him after coming up with an idea.
"Yeah, I used to play it every day." He responded back to me with a smile on his face.
And without wasting any more time, I levitated many rocks I could find around in a way where Kaito could jump over, one after another until reaching that demon.
[Try aiming for his neck.] I told him as we were jumping closer within a few seconds.
And just as Kaito was about to land a hit on that demon, I got out of his body and immediately possessed that demon who was about to unleash his full power.
"Ghhkkkk!!!" The demon held his own head in pain after I tried to take over his body.
Kaito managed to land on the ground safely after getting out of his body, while I on the other hand used one of my skills to paralyze this demon’s wings.
<Paralyze>
And in the next moment, this demon found himself falling into the ground without being able to reject me out of his body yet.
I also was feeling the same amount of pain transmitted from his body together with the painful feeling of crushing into the ground.
"This is impossible…" The demon said to himself as he was trying to stand up once again.
But I wasn't going to waste this opportunity and let this demon take control back of his own body.
While using his own body, I created two sharp ice objects and stabbed them into this body. I created more sharp looking things and continued stabbing them into his heart, throat and eye.
"G-gha.. y-you.. h-how…" The demon struggled to talk before I was forcefully rejected out of his body.
Even his barrier was gone from causing this much damage to his body.
And seeing this chance, Kaito charged towards the demon to land the final blow.
"This is for hitting Kiera!" Kaito shouted as he thrusted his sword right at the demon’s chest.
The demon looked exhausted and his body was badly injured all over its place as he vomited out blood.
But…
"I got you!"
That demon wasn't dead yet.
With a move of his frozen solid sharp nails, he penetrated through Kaito’s head, leaving his body dead on the spot.
"K-KAITOOO!!!!" The red haired girl called out to him after seeing how his body wasn't moving anymore.
His forehead was almost gone and blood was flowing out at an insane speed.
"I'll be taking my leave for now, but I'll return for you as well." The demon threatened as he was glaring at me.
And before I could understand how he was going to escape with his beaten body, some kind of circle formed underneath his body, teleporting himself away together with Kaito’s dead body.
"NOOOOO!!!!" Kiera cried out as she couldn't even have the chance to see her loved one for the last time.
Not only that demon managed to escape, but also took Kaito’s dead body with himself…
