Somewhere near an abandoned village stood me and all of the other girls who were left speechless about the way things turned out for Kaito.
It took Kiera some time to calm down from loudly crying for the person that she wanted to protect.
And I can't blame her for what happened right here… It was also part of my mistakes that I let Kaito die like that.
It all happened so quickly which didn't give us any chance to even rescue him.
After both Theresa and Aya kept Kiera warm about her sudden loss, we all went back to our inn in this town.
Many of the guards and people were still fuzzy about what happened the past few weeks, but the guild managed to get all of the adventurers to check everyone in case there were still demons wandering around. They began fixing all of the houses, found all of the hidden bases and where humans were eaten alive.
The next day, the whole town was worked up because a whole group of people was coming without any notice.
That's why some of the adventurers, including me and Aya, were waiting in front of the gate to see what was going to happen.
The town was still at a loss, and many people were still in shock so there weren't many guards who provided protection.
But everyone calmed down when I explained that that army was coming from another town in order to provide us with assistance and to find out what had happened in here.
“Hatsuko! I’ve come back with help!” The first one to inform me was the priest who was in a hurry the moment she greeted me and Aya.
“It's okay, we drove all of the demons away from this town. Everyone in this town is working together in order to put back together everything the demons had caused.” I explained to her everything that happened without mentioning Kaito's death.
“I understand, then I’ll help anyone who’s injured or sick from the after effects of the mind's corruption. In the meantime, please give the full report to the guild master.” The priest advised before heading off inside the town in order to help everyone who still were affected by the demon's abuse.
While I saw that priest heading off inside the town, I felt Aya’s hand clenching mine.
“...Shouldn’t we have told her… about…” Aya innocently asked with a heart that pained to see someone suffer like that. She couldn't even bring herself to finish her question from thinking how the serious looking priest would react to such news.
“One way or another, she’ll eventually learn about Kaito’s death. Besides, I don’t want to be the one telling her about it. ” I tried looking down before hearing something hit the ground.
It was the gray haired girl who helped the priest rescue the children away from the demons.
“H-husband… is dead?” Her usual emotionless look showed a broken expresion, slowly changing into sheer disbelief as she was looking at us.
“Mizuki-san…” Aya tried calling out to the girl who was crushed by the sudden information she accidentally heard from me.
But before she could say anything else, she rushed inside the town in order to confirm whether Kaito was really dead or not.
Now I understand what Kaito was trying to tell me the day I almost lost both Aya and Theresa.
Not being strong enough to protect someone you care about…
Even though I was basically acting like a jerk to him… Kaito still didn’t hold any ill intentions towards me, and what's more surprising he didn't expose me for being a ghost.
I also figured out why those girls were acting that harshly with me that day… It was understandable after they knew that Kaito was keeping my secret safe when he could just tell the guild.
Not to mention that Kaito was the first person to consider me as his friend even after what I said to him… He truly was a hero until the very end…
.
..
…
Since a lot of adventurers and guards were already in this town, they decided to spend the rest of the day here until further orders were received.
And that's what they did.
Me and Aya went back to our inn, only to find a gray atmosphere going around the room.
Theresa was also trying to make the girls feel at least a bit better from their sudden loss.
I could see their eyes swollen from crying the whole time, and they didn't seem to have any strength left to even let out their voice anymore.
Yelena was comfortable sleeping on the pillow before waking up and jumping towards Aya so she could receive a hug.
“I’m sorry for your loss… if it makes you feel better, you may request from us anything you want.” I decided to speak after seeing how sad and broken these girls looked.
They almost looked like someone I knew… And I didn’t like that…
The three of the girls slowly raised their heads, only to look back at me with their tired looking eyes which barely had any hope for their own life.
“...how…” The priest decided to speak something under her breath, before staring straight into my eyes. “How was his last moment?”
Even the other girls were waiting for an answer from me, not being interested in anything else.
I slowly closed my eyes, quickly picturing the last moments.
“His last moments… were one of the bravest acts I’ve ever witnessed. He couldn't bear to see any of you getting hurt. That's why he fought for what he loved and cherished. A warrior out of this world who was truly brave and selfless until the very end.
…A hero… ”
The girls looked down once again with pained eyes after hearing what I had to say about his last moments.
Silence was going through the room once again, that's why I decided to leave Aya and Theresa to deal with them for the moment.
Having me there right now wouldn't be the best choice.
.
..
…
….
The next day, we had to go back to Holl-town in order to give the full report to the guild master about what happened in this town.
Everyone, including me, Aya, and Theresa were ready to head back to the place where all of this started.
“We are going to stay in this town for a while, so this is a farewell from us.” The priest told us before we could head to the carriage which was going to escort us to Holl-town.
“I understand, then we’ll explain to the guildmaster about your situation. So there’s nothing to worry about.” I responded back, but before we could leave the priest suddenly looked at us.
“Also, you can take full credit for this quest.” The priest let out a long breath as she told me about this.
“Are you sure? If it wasn't for Kaito, our whole plan would’ve failed. So it doesn't feel right for us to take full credit.” I was a bit concerned about these girls’ sudden decision, that's why I hesitated in accepting this.
“That's right, you should take Kaito’s part as well. I'm sure he would’ve wanted you to have them.” Theresa also voiced her opinion.
But in the end, the priest, Mizuki and Kiera still refused to take any of the credits or any percent of the reward.
Whether it was their emotion or just a rushed decision, we still decided to respect what they wanted.
None of us had the right to judge them if they didn't want anything to do with this quest. And I could see that most of them will probably quit from being an adventurer.
…
After getting on a private carriage prepared by the guild for us, we spent almost two days arriving back in Holl-town.
Honestly, it was a boring, yet dejected mood between the two girls.
I could understand why they would feel like that, but what we can do right now is nothing else than getting stronger so none of us could have the same fate as Kaito.
Yelena also was relaxing all of her limbs all over Theresa’s head like usual. That spot seems to have become her favorite spot for napping. But I’m glad that both of the girls were getting along with the silver winged dragon.
The way back to Holl-town was really quiet and boring. And the other girls seemed to have noticed this as well after we departed from Kaito’s party members.
……
…..
….
…
..
.
“I understand…. so their party was disbanded….”
Right now, I was together with Aya in order to give a detailed report to the guild master. And after telling the whole events that happened the past few days, that was his reaction. A dejected, yet angered voice which didn't want to be fully exposed to its intentions.
“And it pains me to say that I was careless to realize that someone was spying on my network.” The guildmaster fell into deep thoughts while keeping both of his fingers almost crossed together as he was leaning his head over the tip of his fingers.
“Do you have any idea who this spy might be?” I asked after considering what this town might go through because of one single demon spy.
“Until now I was confident that my network was one of my biggest and safest, inside and outside of this kingdom. So I don’t think that the spy will eventually be found without any clear leads.”
That is true since this town is quite big, and finding a specific individual might not be that easy.
“May I ask how your network works?”
The guildmaster raised a brow before trying to figure out what I was trying to achieve.
“....”
“It's quite simple, I have trustworthy adventurers who work under my name. I don’t doubt any of them since all of them either come from well known families or have great achievements in many towns. Some of them also are part of my family members as well, that's why I find it hard that any of them could be working with demons.”
So he selects specific adventures he finds trustworthy to share secret information everywhere.
“But even so, don’t you have the slightest suspicion that one of them could be brainwashed by demons? We already know what demons are capable of so it won't be surprising if any of them leaked that information.” I told him my thoughts while trying to figure out who or how they got this information.
After all, I have a grudge against them.
Theresa and Aya almost died when we were on our way to Amberlight.
And the moment I find them, I won’t go easy on them until they are torn apart to the point where their body won't be recognizable anymore.
“That is true, but that still doesn't make sense. After all, I told you that I was quite confident on my network.”
Both me and Aya looked a bit uncertain at how the guildmaster couldn't find a single clue about this information being leaked.
“How so?” I asked.
“It's simple, the information is useless to whoever finds it.” The guildmaster confidently began explaining. “Since every word in our letters are nothing else but coded symbols from an ancient language.”
I see, that makes sense why the guildmaster had no clear leads about the leak of that information.
“Um…” Aya suddenly called out, a bit worried whether it was her place to take part in this conversation or not.
“Is something the matter, Aya?” I looked at her, curious to know what she wanted to say.
“If you want to say something, then please. Don’t hesitate.” The guildmaster also tried making Aya more relaxed after picking up the hesitation in her voice.
“If that information was leaked, t-then, that means the spy must know how to read that language.” Aya tried telling her thoughts on this matter while struggling not to stutter.
“Yes, that's what we think as well.” I agreed with Aya while the guildmaster nodded his head in approvement.
“T-then, why don’t we find that person using the symbols which mister used?” Aya gave her opinion before closing her eyes, a bit embarrassed about her sudden interaction with both of us.
Both me and the guildmaster softly smiled at the girl who was expecting to get yelled at.
“Hmm. I see where you’re trying to get with this. I think we can use this to find out who has been leaking information in my network this whole time.” The guildmaster mused, finally getting back into a better mood about this situation.
“By creating a bait, the spy will do whatever it takes to find out the content within the letter.” I concluded after carefully listening to everyone.
“Since we made this plan together, that means you’ll be helping me?” The guild asked as a glimpse of a smile could be seen hidden between his fingers.
“You don’t need to ask me. I was part of this plan the moment they hurt my women.”
* * *
It was already night in Holl-town and many people could be seen heading back to their homes after a long day.
And that was the same from the guild.
Many of the receptionists and the staff members were already getting ready to head out of their job.
“Make sure to lock the place up, I don’t want any of the wine stolen again. You hear me?” The guildmaster told the rest of the workers in the guild before heading out.
“Yes!”
“Please don’t worry, I’ll make sure to lock this place up.”
“Thanks for the work today.”
“Goodnight.”
“Goodnight boss.”
“Goodnight. Thanks for the hard work.”
The guildmaster looked at everyone who greeted him before replying. “Alright, I’m going.”
All of the employees of the guild quickly finished cleaning up the place before also heading home.
…
“Lola, I’m also heading home for today. Please make sure to lock the place. I don’t want the guildmaster screaming at our ears again.” A certain receptionist told the last standing girl in a uniform who was cleaning the last part of the guild for the day.
“Alright.”
“Then, I’m heading home. This day was really tiresome after what happened in Amberlight.” The receptionist complained as she finally packed up all of her personal items while the other one simply narrowed her eyes.
“Anyway. Goodnight Lola.”
“Goodnight.”
The whole building was quiet, and the only thing which could be heard were the sweeping sounds of the girl’s broom.
She cleaned and brushed everything in the last remaining part of the main guild where most of the receptionists spent their time.
And after shutting off the candles of the main hall, she went towards the guildmaster's main room.
The maid carefully opened the door and directly went towards the drawer where the guildmaster sits.
Even though the drawer was locked, she easily unlocked it with the tip of her glowing finger.
“....”
What she picked out of there was a certain letter which contained a red stamp.
Her eyes narrowed once again before she began opening the letter using her own skill so the letter wouldn't tear, or anyone notice that it was already opened.
But the moment she laid her eyes upon the content that was inside, she let out a deep breath in annoyance.
“What's wrong? Or perhaps you didn't expect to read the same letter once again?”
From behind the maid, she noticed a certain voice of a male filled with irony and anger. And in the next second, she saw a sharp blade moving closer to her neck.
“....” But the maid did not say anything else. She simply closed her eyes, before moving her body away from the blade by trying to hit the person behind that voice with her elbow.
But what she didn't expect was how her whole arm simply passed through the boy’s body as if he was never there.
“H-how?!” She asked in disbelief after taking some steps away from him in fear.
But what she also didn't expect was that he wasn't the only one in this room. Many other known people were showing themself to the maid who was taken aback by her carelessness.
The guildmaster, Thersa, Aya, Yelena, and Hiroki were in this room, waiting for the spy to take action.

<━━━━━━━━━━━>
If it weren’t for both Theresa and Aya being in the same room as us, I wouldn't have hesitated to kill that maid on the spot.
But since the guildmaster asked me not to do such a thing, I held my rage within me.
She was already surrounded, and the guildmaster said he was going to take this task by himself. Many guards immediately came and handcuffed her with some special skill so she couldn't do anything reckless. And to our surprise, she didn't resist nor run away from us.
The next day, the guildmaster asked us to come to the guild early in the morning.
Since me and the girls were planning on leaving this town today, we decided to drop by the guild before we could leave as we still haven't received the reward for completing the special quest yet.
The guild was empty, with the exception of some guards who were checking everything in here with a poker expression on their faces.
“Thank you for finding your time to come to me this early in the morning.” We were greeted by the guildmaster who soon invited us to talk inside his office. “Let’s talk somewhere more comfortable.”
Without questioning or greeting him back, both me and the girls behind me decided to see what the guildmaster was going to say to us.
From what I could see, he had eyebags under his eyes. Signs that he didn't sleep at all last night.
“May I ask what happened to that maid?” The first one to ask was Theresa with a stern look as she was trying not to be rude towards the guildmaster.
“While I usually would say that this is something higher ups have in control, I believe you also have the right to know.” The Guildmaster said with an expression that looked like he already predicted that we were going to ask about the spy we caught last night.
“””....”””
We all were keeping quiet with great interest as to what the guildmaster was going to say next.
“But… I have nothing to say.” The guildmaster gently massaged one of his eyes as he let out a tired sigh.
“What do you me–”
“She refused to talk no matter what we did to her.”
Theresa’s question was immediately cut off by the guildmaster's quick response.
“If she refuses to talk then there are other means of ma–”
“We also tortured her. Nothing. She didn't cry. Did Not complain, nor did she react. She was completely emotionless just like a rock.”
The guildmaster cut me off once again as he explained what he was doing this whole night.
“I understand, then I won’t try to go into any further details about this.”
The man in front of us relaxed on his chair after hearing my reaction about this.
I was sure that there was more to this than it looked like. And it would take a lot longer to understand what was going on with that spy.
I also have a couple of guesses, explaining the meaning behind the spy’s dead reaction. And one of them would be because that demon has been brainwashed as well.
I wouldn't be surprised if that demon ordered the spy to shut her off her emotions in case she got caught. And us trying to get information out of her would be useless as she won't be able to talk no matter how much she wants to.
“Anyway, leaving that aside. I also brought you here to give you this.” He said with the same kind of expression.
What the guildmaster placed on top of his desk were ten big bags filled with heavy coins which made clinging sounds.
Everyone understood what this was, but what they didn't expect was the amount of bags which were presented in front of us.
“Each of the bags has 1,000 gold coins. These are the rewards for completing and helping Amberlight. Since what happened to Kaito’s party, I believe that their part also belongs to you.” The guildmaster calmly explained.
But the rest of us were still in shock at the amount of money presented to us.
We have a reward of ten thousand gold coins! That's basically over a hundred million yen in total!
(AN: That's around 92k $... I think.)
“Wah, wah, wah, wah, wah. T-ten t-t-thousand g-gold coins.” Aya continuously stuttered with her eyes wide open in sheer disbelief at the amount of money in front of us.
And her reaction was understandable from the high amount of money in front of us.
Theresa was also speechless as she had never seen this amount of money in her life.
“Isn't this a bit too much?” I asked after thinking about this for a bit.
“No, this is barely enough for the quest you guys just completed. So please don’t hesitate to take them.” The guildmaster said with a soft smile on his face.
But me and Theresa were still unsure about this while Aya’s mind went completely blank from shock.
“Not only did you figure out what was going on in that town, but you also took quick actions to save everyone. Many of the adventurers are already missing or dead as I mentioned before. And the last remaining ones are none other than the three of you. What this is in front of you is the reward for your hard and heroic work.”
I see, so the guildmaster had prepared rewards for many different adventurers who took part of this quest. But since we were the only ones left, we got to have the full reward.
“I understand, then we’ll gladly take it.” I said as I carefully levitated all of the bags inside Aya’s jacked.
She was still blanked out so I don’t think she has noticed yet that she has all of the gold inside her jacket.
“But I believe that you want something else from us if you're giving us the whole reward. You did state that our reward was going to be 1,000 gold coins. And I find it hard to see that the guild would be this generous to us.”
The guildmaster smirked a bit after hearing my sudden suspicions about this kind of act. And he didn't seem to be hiding it from the way he reacted.
“That's true.” The guildmaster confirmed my suspicion as he looked directly into my eyes who had predicted his intentions.

.
.
Some hours had passed after we began traveling back to our home.
Both Theresa and Aya were sitting close to each other as they seemed really bored from sitting on their butts for long periods of time.
But looking back now, I feel like a long time has passed ever since we started adventuring into other lands.
“Hiroki.” Theresa called out to me.
“Hm?”
“Was it okay to accept that?” Her soft voice asked, unsure of what to think about my decision.
But before I could respond, Aya looked up with a confused expression.“ What do you mean by ‘that’?”
Since Aya was still blanked out at that time, she must have not listened to my conversation with the guildmaster.
“So basically, the guildmaster offered a special job for me even though I’m not an adventurer.”
“What kind of job?” Aya curiously asked.
Since Aya didn't want to be left out, I decided to explain everything that happened to the guild.
.

*Flashback.*
Both me and Theresa were waiting for an explanation from the guildmaster's sudden confession to my suspicion.
“There’s no need to look at me like that. I simply wanted someone who I can share information with through my network.”
“I understand, but I’m not an adventurer. Besides, how can you trust me that easily?” I asked with a still expression on my face.
“You seem to be underestimating my network a little. I don’t hire only adventurers. I believe I told you before? And secondly, you saved an entire town. I can’t ignore someone as big as you that easily.”
So he basically wants to keep some kind of connection with me?
I understand that, and I don’t think that accepting would be a bad idea. Actually, this could be handy in case I need help later.
“In that case, I accept.”
The guildmaster nodded in satisfaction, looking back at us with a look that remembered something. “Ah, right. Those two girls also will be moving to ‘A’ ranks.”
*End of flashback.*
/ / / * * * / / /
“Eeeh? So I’m ‘A’ rank now? H-how?! I didn’t even do anything!” Aya looked dumbfounded and confused after hearing about her rank.
“What are you saying Aya?” Thersa suddenly voiced out to the little girl who still couldn't understand her greatness. “You were the main key in that quest. If it weren't for you baiting that filthy demon out of the white mansion, we would’ve had a lot more trouble helping everyone. So don’t be surprised that you are ranked. You are worth much more than you think.”
Aya’s cheeks reddened a bit in embarrassment at Theresa’s statement. It was clear that she wasn't used in getting praised or looked up like that.
And she deserved it.
She gently rubbed both of her thighs and hands together as she was trying to hide her embarrassment.
This moment right now. Aya’s sweet and adorable smile which could even seduce the devil. That was the cure which made me feel alive again.
But after some moments of silence, Aya looked back at me.
“So will Hiroki work as a messenger now?” Aya asked.
“Not necessary. I can accept or refuse any quest given to me. But this time, he wanted to give this letter to someone important.” I explained as I levitated the letter that the guildmaster gave.
“That's…” Aya tried figuring out what the letter was about as she was staring at it quite closely.
“A letter to the king.”
…
..
.
It almost took a whole day to arrive back home and everyone was already tired.
That's why we immediately went to our home where we could spend the whole night together.
Both of the girls took a bath together with the small dragon before they came back to the bedroom I was waiting for.
“We’re ready.”
“Hiroki…”
Right in front of me were two beautiful girls, wearing unexpected erotic pijamajs.
Their skin was mostly exposed and their hair had become a bit wavy after taking a shower.
“You girls…”
In the room I picked a sweet and nice aroma which immediately relaxed my mind. It was the clear smell of a field filled with thousands of roses.
“P-please take care of me.”
“M-me as well.”
Their blushing faces were incredibly attractive and seductive.
I couldn't believe my eyes that such beautiful girls wanted my attention and love right now.

It was already morning after spending the rest of the night lying between two lovely flowers.
Even though I couldn't sleep, time passed by really quick as I kept thinking how incredible last night was.
That was the first time I kissed and did many lewd things to Aya and Theresa without losing control of my powers.
And even though I don’t have a penis, their body heat still felt incredible.
“umm..<3”
“Hm…”
From both of my sides I could hear them moaning as they were about to wake up.
But before I could turn my eyes to any of them, I suddenly felt a warm sensation on both my cheeks.
Their eyes looked really seductive as they were looking at me in lust and happiness.
“Goodmorning, Hiroki.”
“Goodmorning.”
Is this the so-called good morning kiss? What the hell?!! I'm so happy!
And so, a new day already began.
We ate breakfast together, got ready together, and decided to spend the rest of the morning on a nice date with the three of us.
Both of the girls needed this after what we went through.
While we were about to get out of the house, we heard loud knocking noises from the door.
“Yes?” I answered as the three of us were about to go outside.
When I looked outside I saw many guards which were preventing us from going anywhere else.
“Are you the merchant, Hiroki?” One of the guards asked with a harsh voice.
“Yes, that's me.” I replied, a bit confused about what this was about.
But what came out of the guard’s mouth was something I never expected.
“You are under arrest for treason!”
