Master's life... was complicated...
That was Itsy's first and foremost thought. He felt directionless and reactive, going from one goal to the next without much rhyme or reason. He had stated that he wanted to become a [hero], a notion she did not understand. Maybe this chaotic lifestyle was by choice and it somehow helped him with this... goal. Itsy was not sure but she doubted that becoming this [hero] held much weight in her master's mind.
Sadly, she could not parse any of the texts she had gained access to since her master had been taken in by the order. She did not know how to read nor could she properly communicate this to anyone. The adults of the church kept their distance and the children ran at the mere sight of her. She could have attempted to somehow communicate this to her master but she felt that he already had too much on his plate for her problems to be piled on top.
At least in terms of understanding her master, she had made great strides. She had concluded that like her, he too did not understand himself and was still finding his way. The divide she had felt was simply his not comprehending her deeper wants and needs. Some of the blame did lay at her feet for she too did not try to communicate better. But she had made steady strides over the last month or so to worm her way into his heart.
Maria, her sister, was a great blessing as unlike her young self, she understood their master with a lot more depth. Imitating her was a great boon as he now often looked for her in his day-to-day life. He would seek her, for chores which she had expected but for comfort as not.
Maybe only she and Maria had realized it but he would constantly seek comfort from Maria and to a lesser extent, her. Itsy still did not know why and her communicative ability had yet to develop but like a spider, she would stalk and try to understand.
She would probably never understand the greater machinations but that was not her place anyway, she felt both Maria and Rawr could take care of looking into the future in a way she or their master ever could. All she wanted was that her master would feel... less restless... and in that regard, she was already making headway, at least that is what she believed.
That had led her to now. Maria, the ever-graceful sister, had suggested she be allowed to decide what she wanted upon evolution. A term she understood instinctively. She would become greater, and despite her subdued demeanor, she was excited. Maybe then she would be able to share her thoughts and be more inclusive, like the banter she could only listen to from the side, for now.
There was also a combat implication she must always consider. For now, both she and Whiskers were more non-combatants than anything else. She believed that as they were now even their master could easily handle them and he was supposed to be the weakest link. She would be a lot more concerned about her place with him if not for the fact that both of them were eternally bound.
Now it was up to her to decide what role she wanted to be once she eventually caught up to the rest of her sisters. There were no real needs as Hiss acted as the primary defender and physical offense, Maria was a Seraphim, and based on what she had heard they were an excellent support class, Witch could empower the team and weaken foes at the same time and Rawr... from she could gather was a class above the rest.
While this meant there were no real openings, it also meant that instead of filling up a whole she could instead enhance one of the roles. Her base was that of a spider and she did not wish to add anything she was unfamiliar with, which was why she felt thankful that she was allowed to choose for herself. She knew it would still be a while before she would be actually helpful in combat and if she had to relearn what her extra bits did, that would only extend further. Not to mention, she would not be intimately aware of her abilities when combat did happen and if for whatever reason, she becomes a cornerstone of any fight, she did not want to drag down the team due to her unfamiliarity.
That only left options for empowering her poison to increase her lethality, toughening her body so she could also be an additional vanguard, or empowering her threads to add more options to control the battlefield. There were enough arachne rare drops here that she could just empower them all but that would also generalize her. She would become more versatile and shift based on what was needed but at the cost of specialization.
She started hopping from side to side, a quirk she had noticed that happened when she was deep in thought. Decisions, decisions.
