Adrian felt like he had been sighing all day as he walked into his apartment. He managed to leave the party early so he didn’t have to deal with them anymore. He took his graduation gown off. He tossed his bag on the couch before flopping down beside it. Adrian had taken the gun out of his suit pocket and stared at it after placing it on the coffee table.
“Who would want a gun anyway? It’s so loud. If you aim to kill, go for something less of a mess and quiet... like poisoned darts.” He shook his head. He never exactly killed anyone, but his high IQ would help if he were to. Adrian ruffled his hair before getting up and going to his room.

Adrian placed the gun on his nightstand before stripping out of his clothes. Once he had finished stripping down, he went to the bathroom to get the stench of the party off of him. He turned the knob and stepped in after removing his boxers. The feeling of the hot water hit his skin, turning it red, but he didn’t flinch. It had eased some of his muscles, and he processed the day’s events. A lot had happened, and he realized how weird it was the longer he thought about it.

Once he finished his shower, he got out and brushed his teeth. Adrian then put a pair of clean boxers on before laying in bed. He sighed softly and closed his eyes, but they soon flew open. He shot out of his bed and turned his night lamp on. There he noticed the two guys from earlier sleeping in his bed.

“What the hell!?” He began to throw things at the two males. They shot up once something hit them, and Adrian glared at them.

“Ow, that hurt. Oh, you are home,” the man known as Ido said.

“Don’t say it like this is your home! Why are you guys even here?”

“Well, we never finished our conversation,” Tomas started with a smile, “and we fell asleep since you were out late.”

“Tsk, how did you even find out where I live? Go away. I am so tired. Plus, there is no conversation. I have no interest in joining you guys.”

“Well...” Ido trailed off and held up Adrian’s state ID. Adrian groaned and snatched it from him.

“How did you get this? Actually, I don’t care, just get out, now!” He yelled, waiting for them to leave.

“We will let you rest tonight. But no, seriously, be careful because you attacked a member of the Blue Vipers. They will be after you for what you did today.”

“I will be fine. I am more than capable of protecting myself.”

“Alright, well, we will visit.”

“Please don’t.”

“Tomas won’t listen. He is going to come and drag me with him. So might as well, get used to us,” Ido said with a grin. That grin made Adrian want to slap it off of his face.

“Whatever, bye.”

Ido and Tomas left Adrian’s house, and he locked the doors and windows before finally going back to bed. He let a sigh out. He had a feeling things in his life were not about to be so simple.
He woke up the next morning hearing his phone ring. He groaned slightly and stared at the ceiling for a few moments before answering his phone.

“Hello?”

“Hi, am I speaking with Adrian Jackson?”

“Yeah...”

“Great, I am calling on behalf of New York University. My name is Erin. You applied with us. We want to offer a full scholarship.”

“Oh, thank you. I am still deciding.”

“Okay, keep us in mind.”

“Most definitely, I will add you guys to my contacts. Thank you so much,” Adrian finished the call and looked at his phone.

“I shouldn’t be surprised, honestly. I got scholarships to cover the full tuition for over twenty schools. Harvard is one of them.” He got out of bed. He glanced at his reflection, flinched slightly, and ran his hands through his hair to ease the bed head. Once, he was satisfied with how his hair looked as he walked out of the room to go to the kitchen, seeing Ido and Tomas yesterday. He nodded to them as they waved, and he went to his kitchen to make him a cup of coffee.

He put the cups to his lips before quickly spitting it out. He burned his tongue and cursed.

“Shit~!”

“Language!” He heard Tomas. Adrian ran to the living room and shot the two males another glare.

“What the hell!?”

“Language.” Tomas scolded, and Adrian went to throw something at Tomas, but Tomas dodged it.

“Good morning to you too....”

“How did... you guys pick my lock, didn’t you?”

“Yep, did you decide?”

“You insufferable human being, leave me alone. I already decided I am not joining you guys.”

“Tomas won’t leave you alone until you join.”

“Whatever, I am not joining.” He went back to the kitchen, grabbing a mop and broom to clean his mess up. He then began to cook him breakfast just as his phone rang again. He answered it and put it on speaker.

“This is Adrian...”

“Adrian, this is Leslie from South Dakota University calling. Do you have time to speak?”

“I do...” He said and continued to cook breakfast.

“We know you didn’t apply with us, but we are offering a full scholarship.

“Thank you.”

“Have you decided what school or program you are interested in?”

“I am still weighing my options. I am interested in being a teacher.”

“Well, we have this great teaching program. If you like, I can email you more information about it.”

“That would be great,” Adrian provided his email before hanging up with them.

“A teacher? I didn’t take you as a teaching type.”

“Something I always wanted to do.”

“Interesting, you know you could pay for college by joining us.”

“Why when I get full scholarships to practically any school I want.”

“Even Harvard?”

“Harvard offered me a full scholarship two years ago, saying they would wait until I graduate. If you haven’t realized it yet, I am quite literally a genius. My IQ is 230. I don’t need to join a gang to secure my future.

“Oh, that is impressive; you are a genius,” Ido said, and Adrian just shrugged his shoulders.
