Chapter 49: Chapter 48. The War Continues

"Why are you interfering in my battle?" Dracula Mihawk asked calmly while looking at Alex who was now fighting the Vista.

"Because I want to," Alex replied with an amused tone, clashing his sword against Vista. "Is there a problem with it?"

Mihawk looked at him for some time however he turned back to look at Luffy who was now running toward him. "Don't test my patience, Warlord Alex." Saying that he walked forward, ready to intercept Luffy from reaching the execution platform.

Alex simply chuckled and then began to clash his sword against Vista. "Do you wanna know something interesting?" He suddenly spoke, causing Vista to look at him with an odd gaze. "The Sphinx town that Whitebeard has been protecting for such a long time is now facing the wrath of Big Mom. I wonder, who is gonna protect that town along with the children who live there?"

"W-What?" Vista looked at him in shock and stopped his attack for a small moment. This however proved to be a very big mistake as in the next moment, he was beheaded by Alex who used some lightning power to sharpen his blade.

'Plunder.' He mentally commanded the system and then began to run toward the other person that he wanted to get rid of.

Daz Bonez was right now fighting against Rakuyo, one of the commanders of Whitebeard pirates. Though it was proving quite easy for him as it didn't take him more than 10 minutes to land the final blow, killing the Commander.

He didn't take any rest and continued to move forward, his entire body was right now covered in blades which were coated with Armament Haki. This allowed him to kill low-rank pirates swiftly, saving a lot of his time.

Gion on the other hand was against Namur, a fish-man and one of the Commanders of the Whitebeard pirates. Though right now, his condition was quite bad as there were a lot of cuts on his body.

"You are quite weak for someone who is one of the commanders for one of the strongest crews." Gion shook her head in disappointment and disappeared from her place using Soru. Appearing behind him, she slashed his neck multiple times, killing him instantly.

"Kizaru," Aokiji called out to his fellow Admiral. "How about you kick that guy toward Vice-Admiral Gion's side? She can deal with him while we will focus our attention on the main guy, what do you think?" This was the instruction that he suddenly got from Alex.

Kizaru looked at Aokiji for some time with an unreadable expression however he soon nodded. "Ooh…. It's a good time….." Saying that in his usual laid-back tone, he disappeared from his place and appeared behind Marco. "I can't play with you any longer so….." Raising his leg, he amplified it with his light devil fruit powers, he kicked Marco, sending him toward the place where Gion was waiting for him.

The Admirals then disappeared from their place and appeared in front of Whitebeard; however, before they could attack him, a lava fist headed toward Whitebeard. "I am gonna take care of him, you both can go and kill the rest of the pirates." Both of them could tell that he wasn't suggesting it, he was ordering them however they just shrugged off and headed somewhere else to find a new opponent, not in the mood to argue with him on the battlefield.

At one of the corners of the frozen bay, Blamenco, one of the commanders of Whitebeard was fighting against low-ranking Marine officers. With his big size coupled with his devil fruit, it proved quite easy for him to deal with those officers.

Though his tyranny soon ended as he was beheaded by Alex who sneaked up behind him. The officers looked at the scene in shock however they soon recovered and began to head somewhere else to fight the other pirates.

"Plunder." He whispered with a small smile and then began to use his lightning web, checking everyone's location throughout the battlefield.

When he found the location of his next prey, he disappeared from his place and headed there with an excited expression.

In the Mary Geoise, the room authority, the 5 elders sat on sofas and were watching the live broadcast of the war that was happening on the Marineford right now.

Today, they weren't alone as behind them stood Rob Lucci who was now a member of the CP-0, the highest ranking CP organization.

In front of the 5 elders stood, Kong, The Commander in Chief and the former Fleet Admiral. Like the others present in the room, he too was watching the live broadcast.

"Kuzan is doing a good job today." One of the 5 elders spoke, watching the Admiral getting rid of the pirates to protect his subordinates.

"Hmmm." The other 4 elders nodded at his words as they were also impressed that he wasn't showing his usual laziness on such an important occasion.

"Vice Admiral Gion is also doing good. She is stopping Phoenix Marco from going somewhere else and that too without taking help from anyone." Kong praised the Vice-Admiral with a small smile. "Daz is also doing a very good job compared to the other officers of the same rank."

"Gion is a candidate for the Admiral position so her strength is good…." Another elder spoke with a serious expression. "However the Captain position doesn't deserve Daz. We need to give him a high position for his strength.

"After the war ends, we can decide the position that we wish to give him." Hearing the suggestion of Kong, the 5 Elders nodded and continued to watch the live broadcast.

"Can you see the battlefield properly, Ace? Can you see what is happening there?" Garp sat right next to Ace on the execution platform with a gloomy expression.

"I can see it….." For the first time in his life, he hated himself and his behaviour of taking rash actions. "Because of m-me, they all are losing their lives, Grandpa. It hurts to see them die in front of him and yet I-I can't do anything against it….!"

He couldn't bear to see his family getting killed in front of his eyes. It hurt him so much cause, in the end, he knew that it happened because of his rash decisions.

"I never wanted any of you to become pirates, Ace yet I couldn't stop any of you….." Garp spoke with a remorseful expression. He then went quiet and closed his eyes for some time. "This was your path, Ace. I can't help you even if I wish to…" Saying that he stood up and headed back to his seat.

"You already did a lot of things for me, Grandpa." Ace spoke with a small smile. "Thanks for taking care of me and letting me meet Luffy….."

"You fool….!" Garp gritted his teeth in anger, his getting moist. Though he soon gained control over his emotions and calmed himself down.

"I hope that you won't make a wrong decision….." Sengoku stared at his friend with a serious expression.

"Don't worry," Garp replied calmly and closed his eyes. He leaned back on the chair and took some deep breaths. "I know the position that I'm in at this moment."

After killing Izou, one of the commanders of Whitebeard pirates, Alex was now standing some distance away from the place where Daz was fighting against Jozu.

Daz was better than Jozu however the devil fruit that Jozu ate gave him a very strong defence which was something that the current Daz couldn't break.

Though it didn't mean that Daz wasn't able to scratch him. Even though he had a strong defence, once Jozu loses his focus, the defence wears down, allowing Daz to strike him.

Alex kept looking at the battle for some time and then put one of his hands inside his pants pocket where he took out a small bottle filled with lethal gas.

He created a tiny spatial door inside his pocket and the other side of the portal was opened right behind the neck of Jozu who wasn't aware of it just like the other people who were on the battlefield. The spatial door was so small that not even the people who were watching the live broadcast could see it.

He opened the lid of the bottle causing the gas to travel through the spatial door. The gas which was now spreading around Jozu's body began to affect him immediately.

"W-What is happening right now….?" Jozu mumbled with a troubled expression as he felt his body getting weak along with his mind rapidly.

Soon he couldn't control his body causing the diamond defence to disappear from his body. Seeing his chance, Daz attacked him multiple times using blades, drills and a hammer that he created all over his body and was covered in Armament Haki.

Though when he was landing the final blow on the enemy's neck, he purposely slowed it down a little, giving Alex enough time to send a pebble covered in Armament Haki to pass through the neck of Jozu, killing him instantly.

"Plunder." Alex mentally commanded the system and then began to glance at the other prey that he wanted to kill. This wash is such an easy yet very effective way to kill as no one would be able to find out the truth about these guys' death.

"JOZU!!!!" Marco, who was fighting Gion some distance away, shouted in anger when he saw his friend's head lying on the ground. "You bastard…!" Marco screamed in rage however before he could go toward Jaz, he was stopped by Gion.

"Your opponent is me, pineapple head." Gion playfully smiled at him. "How does it feel to see your friend's head on the ground?" She asked amusingly, causing Marco to glare at her with hatred. "Don't worry, you will soon join him along with your daddy."

Marco moved forward to attack her, not paying attention to the fact that he suddenly felt weak. Though after some seconds, his legs began to shake uncontrollably.

His devil fruit transformation disappeared, seeing this, Gion didn't waste any time and appeared in front of him and began to attack him relentlessly. When she was about to land the final blow, she slowed down her speed a little which gave Alex enough time to launch a pebble at Marco's neck.

On the other side of the battlefield, Whitebeard closed his eyes with a painful expression. "I will make sure to avenge both of you, my son." He spoke in an angry tone and then opened his eyes, looking at Akainu with a murderous expression. "You need to die today, Magma Boy. I will then destroy this entire place."

Hearing his words, Akainu scoffed at him with a look of disgust. "Today is your funeral, Whitebeard. None of your so-called sons is going to make it out alive." Saying that he sent a punch covered in Magma toward Whitebeard who slapped it away using his devil fruit powers.

While they were fighting each other, the other two Admirals were almost done with the other pirate crew Captains and as well as the other commanders of Whitebeard's crew. They then began to get rid of the low-ranking pirates, killing them effortlessly which caused the morals of the pirates to drop to a frightening level.

Now except for the hopeless Ace who was on the execution platform and the low-ranking crew members of other crews, Whitebeard didn't have any other reliable support.

Jimbei was right now fighting against Doflamingo while Sabo was fighting Kuma. Luffy on the other hand was against Mihawk who wasn't giving him any chance to escape.

Everyone who was watching the battlefield at this moment knew that the war was already over for the pirates. For them, Whitebeard was nothing compared to the people who were standing among the Marines.
