Chapter 50: Chapter 49. The War Ends

"Ne….you are quite serious today…" Kizaru asked in his usual laid-back tone while glancing at Aokiji from the corner of his eyes.

They both were now sitting in their seats and were looking at the battle that was happening between Akainu and Whitebeard. They already got rid of the low-ranking pirates which made the Marine officers.

"After this war ends, I plan to take the position of Fleet Admiral," Aokiji replied casually, not caring about the fact that his words were heard by the current Fleet Admiral as well.

"Ooh…. That's why…." Kizaru nodded and then went quiet, too lazy to continue the conversation. Though his gaze was on the other people who weren't from Whitebeard's crew and yet they all planned to save Ace.

The battle continued for half an hour and then Sengoku motioned the two executioners to do their job. Though before they could execute Ace, a wave of Conqueror Haki spread throughout the battlefield, knocking down the weak-willed people.

"Oh my…." Kizaru turned to look at the source and found Luffy running toward the execution platform. "He is scary….." He murmured with a bored expression.

Aokiji calmly sat there, however, he soon disappeared from his place when he got a sudden instruction from Alex. He appeared above the execution platform and looked at the worried Ace who was telling Luffy to go away constantly.

"Vice-Admiral Garp," Aokiji called him out, attacking everyone's attention on himself. "Will you hold a grudge against me if I execute him right now?" He asked with a serious expression causing everyone to look at Garp.

A lot of thoughts began to pass through Garp's mind and in the end, he took a deep breath to calm himself. "Go ahead, Kuzan. He chose to become a pirate and as Marine officers, it's our responsibility to get rid of them." Saying that he closed his eyes once again, not having the strength to see Ace getting executed.

Aokiji nodded and then turned to look at Sengoku for approval. Sengoku kept looking at his friend for some time and after that, he nodded affirmatively at Aokiji.

"Say your last words, pirate." Saying that Aokiji created two ice swords and pierced Ace's chest, killing him instantly. At least that's what everyone saw cause no one noticed that a pebble which was on the platform already suddenly flew at Ace's chest at the same time as the swords pierced his heart.

"Gol D Ace has been successfully executed by me, everyone!!" Aokiji loudly said while raising his hand in the air. "Now we only need to get rid of the other pirates who were going against the Marines and were supporting Whitebeard."

"ACE!!!!" Luffy cried out and fell to his knees, his eyes losing the usual gleam that he carries every moment. Tears began to form in the corner of Jimbe, Sabo and Whitebeard's eyes when they saw the dead body of Ace.

Seeing their chance, both Gion and Daz ran toward Luffy, ready to get rid of him as well; however, before they could come close, dark clouds began to gather above the Marineford and soon, rain began, much to everyone's surprise.

"Dragon…." Sengoku muttered with a worried expression, trying to look for him, however, he couldn't sense him.

"It's too soon for all of you to fight these people….." A voice resounded throughout the Marineford and then a man wearing a cloak appeared behind Luffy. He lifted Luffy in his arms and began to fly in the air along with Jinbei and Sabo.

Sengoku was about to order Alex to stop that man, however, his eyes suddenly widened in shock when he noticed something that he was sure wouldn't happen in this war. "Akainu…..? But how???" Hearing his sudden words, everyone turned to look at the place where the battle was going on.

"Plunder," Alex commanded the system with a small smile on his face while looking at Akainu whose body fell to the ground. He then spread his lightning web and connected with a guy who was heading to the Marineford through the Gates of Justice.

"One down and two more to go," Whitebeard said furiously and then began to look at the two Admirals. "Sengoku, today, I'll make sure to kill those two no matter what happens." Saying that he began to create shockwaves, again and again, intending to destroy the entire Marineford.

"Everyone get back!!" Sengoku hurriedly ordered with an anxious expression. He then turned to look at Kuzan who was about to head into the battle. "Kuzan freeze the bay once again otherwise the Marineford will be destroyed by the tsunami."

Kuzan nodded and then disappeared from his seat. He first froze the bay and created a lot of ice swords to attack Whitebeard. Though the ice swords were easily broken up by the shockwaves that Whitebeard was creating constantly.

He was about to attack once again however he stopped himself as a bullet pierced his head. Even though he wasn't affected by it, the surprise attack was enough to make him take some steps back.

"Wiiihahahaha…." Laughter resounded in the entire Marineford and soon a ship appeared on the bay. Though the people who were standing on the deck of the ship caused Sengoku and the other high-ranking Marines officer's eyes to widen in shock.

"Ooh my….." Even Kizaru who remains expressionless usually now had a serious expression on his face when he saw Bullet, Redfield and World on the deck of the ship behind an unknown captain.

The new pirated crew landed on the frozen bay and looked at everyone present on the battlefield.

"It's good to see you, Whitebeard," Burgess said with a big smile and then began to walk toward him. "You remember Teach? That guy was our captain but now, he is no more." Saying that he activated his devil fruit power and began to engulf the land in darkness.

"Everyone, get back. We aren't going to join this fight." Sengoku ordered everyone as he wanted the new crew to kill Whitebeard for them. After that, he along with his friend would make sure that these new guys won't leave this island.

"I see…." Whitebeard muttered with a calm tone and then began to walk toward Burgess. "Since you were all part of his crew, I need to make sure that none of you stays alive."

"It's been a long time, Whitebeard," Redfield spoke with an amused smile, looking at the incoming Whitebeard.

"I wasn't expecting you to join a no-name crew, Redfield." Whitebeard shook his head in disappointment and then turned to look at the other familiar guy. "Even the demon heir joined a crew like this…."

"Kuahahaha…. The Strongest man is dying here so pathetically just like the Pirate King." Bullet replied with a look of disgust while looking at Whitebeard. "At least my captain isn't as pathetic as you, Whitebeard."

The battle between Whitebeard and Burgess began and both of them began to attack each other using their devil fruit powers. Though it only lasted for 2 minutes as Whitebeard began to feel to lose control over his body as his mind began to get heavy all of a sudden.

Seeing his chance, Burgess moved forward hurriedly and began to stab Whitebeard non-stop using the sea-stone knife. In the end, he pierced Whitebeard's neck before moving some distance away.

"You may eradicate their bloodline, but their flame never dies...

For many ages, it has been passed down through the generations...

And someday, bearing the weight of all these generations, a man will appear to challenge this world….." Whitebeard suddenly began to speak loudly. "Sengoku, you people of the World Government are living in fear of that great battle that will someday engulf the entire world...

Though it has nothing to do with me... When somebody finds that treasure... The world will be turned upside down!!"

"Bastard, Stop!!" Sengoku yelled with an angry expression.

"The One Piece Is Real….!" The moment he said those words, a pebble covered in Armament Haki pierced his brain, killing him instantly. Though his body didn't fall to the ground, instead his body stood there proudly without any mark on his back.

"Fuffuffuffu…." Hearing those words, Doflamingo began to laugh loudly with a big smile on his face. "The new age is finally coming. The weak will perish and only the strong will rule the seas…." Saying that he began to walk away, ready to head back to the New World as the war was finally over.

Mihawk glanced at Whitebeard for the last time and then he too began to walk away. Alex glanced at Aokiji for a moment and then he began to fly in the air along with Hancock to head back to their flying island.

"From today onwards, the Champion pirates will take the position of Whitebeard as one of the Four Emperors of the sea." Burgess loudly said with a chuckle and then began to walk toward his ship. He now needs to head to the New World to claim the territories that Whitebeard used to own so he could officially become an Emperor.

Sengoku wanted to attack the crew however when he gazed at his Marine officers and the people who were in that crew, he changed his mind. "The war is finally over, everyone. We have won the war. Now help the officers who need medical care urgently."

The Marine officers who weren't harmed nodded and began to take the injured officers inside the Marineford. The live broadcast was also disconnected as there was no need for it anymore.

"We should have attacked those pirates, Sengoku. They are very dangerous, you know that too…." Garp spoke in a serious tone, gazing at the sea where the pirate ship was heading out of the Gates of Justice.

"I wanted to do that too, Garp…." Sengoku replied with a frown. "However this wasn't the best time to fight with them. Almost everyone on that ship is a monster and to fight them, we need a lot of manpower especially now that we have lost our strongest Admiral against Whitebeard."

The world soon calmed however it was calm before the storm as a lot of people began to dream about One Piece once again. Whitebeard's words were the beginning of a new age and everybody knew it.

Even though the rest of the world was calm at this moment, the same couldn't be said about the New World.

Shanks and Kaido were still fighting each other while the other pirates began to head to the territories that belonged to Whitebeard, aiming to claim them.

Big Mom also sent a lot of her chickens to claim some new territories. Though she wanted Fish-men island the most, she decided to send some people there as well so they could negotiate with the King.

The Marines burned down the bodies of every pirate on the Marineford including Ace and Whitebeard's bodies as well. Even though he was a rival of Sengoku, in the end, he was just a pirate.

Sengoku also found out about the whole ordeal that happened in Impel down. He never thought that Burgess would have such a powerful Conqueror Haki that could affect even the people who were in the level 6 prison.

Even though this was a very big issue, however, in the end, The World Government and the Marine suppressed it as it would cause the public to panic and will also affect their reputation negatively, something that they wouldn't like.

The culprit behind all of this was right now laying on the bed inside the palace that was in the Amazon Lily. Hancock had gone back to training island while he decided to stay here.

"It is time to check the rewards and the things that I have gotten from this war….."
