Chapter 56: Chapter 55. Fish-Men Island

After successfully taking every blueprint that he could find in the laboratory, Alex headed back to the palace room and began to look through those blueprints.

When he was done examining all of them, he couldn't help but shake his head with an amazing expression. The inventions of Vegapunk always surprise him. That guy can make stuff so advanced that people in this world wouldn't even think about it.

With the blueprints in his hands, he opened a spatial door and headed to the underground city on the Moon. He spent half an hour there, discussing the inventions with Franky and Gairam.

He then left the underground city and headed toward another place using the spatial door. He has given the blueprints to those two so they could learn about it as well.

The spatial door opened outside of a giant palace from which Alex came out with a curious expression. He looked around himself and noticed that the palace was covered in multiple bubbles. The palace itself sits in a bubble that was flying above the surface.

"The Ryugu palace looks very beautiful….." He mumbled with a small smile and then turned to look at the two towers which were on the northeast of the palace.

"One of those two towers should be her residence, right?" He whispered with a thoughtful expression and then used his Observation Haki to find the right tower.

When he found the tower in which she was staying, he flew there and entered the tower using his spatial door power. Inside the tower, he saw a large shark talking with an equally large pink-haired mermaid.

With a small smile, he walked forward, attracting their attention. "Hello, my name is Alex, a pirate from the Grand Line. What's your name?" He politely introduced himself to them.

"My name is Shirahoshi. I'm the princess of the Ryugu kingdom." The giant mermaid introduced herself with a smile while bowing slightly causing him to chuckle much to her confusion. "Why are you laughing, Alex-sama?"

"You are so stupid for a princess." Saying that he began to laugh once again. "Shouldn't you ask me how I managed to come here?" He stopped his laughter after some time when he noticed tears gathering at the corner of her eyes.

She began to wipe off her tears while looking at him with a pitiful gaze. "I thought father sent you here so I believe that it would be impolite to ask….." She replied with a downcast expression.

Alex nodded at her and then turned to look at the shark which was looking at him fearfully. "Come here." He commanded the shark with a small smile. The shark glanced at Shirahoshi with a helpless expression before heading toward Alex.

"You are a good boy." He sat on top of its head and then he began to rub it affectionately. "Don't worry, I'm not planning to harm you or your master." He spoke to the shark with a harmless smile. "By the way, Shirahoshi, do you remember Hody Jones? The guy who assassinated your mother?"

"I remember him……" She replied in a quiet tone, her eyes turning moist once again as this name brought a lot of negative memories for her.

"I wanna ask you something." He spoke with a calm expression. "Since you showed kindness and didn't inform your father about that incident. Tell me, how do you think he is living right now?'

"How is he living……?" She glanced at him with a confused expression however she soon realized what he meant by those words. 

'Did my act of kindness change him…? Of course, it didn't since he doesn't even know about it but would he have changed himself if he knew about that……?' Her mind separated itself into two parts, one was telling her that there was hope for him while the other part was telling her that he would never change.

"I'm sure that you don't know about this since you never go out of this tower." Alex suddenly spoke, interrupting her chaotic thoughts.

"When called you stupid earlier, I wasn't joking. I know a lot of people yet none of them is as stupid as you. Just because you showed kindness for who knows what reason, that guy has been killing humans and Fishmen without any mercy for so many years. He has nearly killed 3000 humans and at least 1400 Fishmen." 

"S-So many people d-died….?" Her eyes widened in horror when she heard those words.

"People lost their wives, children, parents, husbands, brothers." Alex continued to speak in an angry tone. "Do you know who is responsible for this? It's you, Shirahoshi! You are the one who is responsible for their death, you killed them."

"I didn't kill them!!!" Shirahoshi cried out, tears began to fall from her eyes.

"Yes, you are responsible for their deaths. If you hadn't shown mercy to him, he would have been arrested by the royal guards and would have never killed those people." Alex spoke, raising his tone slightly with an angry expression. "I'm sure that if one day he destroyed the entire Fishmen island, you will still forgive him because you are just a stupid girl who doesn't know the difference between being kind and being dumb."

Even though he looked as if he was furious, in reality, he was laughing inwardly because his plan was working. This kindness in her and her dead mother was something that he never liked even when he used to watch anime so this was the perfect chance to mellow it down by starting with that Hody guy.

Shirahoshi began to cry loudly, tears continued to fall from her eyes however Alex didn't try to calm her down. The Shark however wanted to go and comfort its master but Alex didn't let it go. Right now, she needs to realize that sometimes showing kindness isn't a good decision as it can harm the other people around her.

After some time, she finally calmed down and began to wipe off her tears. She then turned to look at Alex with reddened eyes. "W-What should I do now, Alex-sama? I don't want people to hate me."

Hearing her question, Alex smiled at her and then he spoke. "You don't have to do anything, Shirahoshi. Since this is your first mistake, I'll help you and arrest that guy so he wouldn't be able to murder anyone else in the future."

"You would do this for me? Thank you, Alex-sama." The mermaid princess happily said while clapping her hands in excitement. "You are such a good person, unlike those other people who used to come to meet me."

Alex began to chuckle in amusement when he heard her sudden claim that he was a good guy, he was about to tell her that he wasn't as good as he looked on the surface however his Observation Haki suddenly picked a presence which was heading to the tower at very fast speed.

He was a little confused by the sudden arrival of such a thing however he soon remembered what that incoming thing was. "Fucking bitch…! He cursed under his breath when he remembered that there was another guy on this island who needed to die.

The windows of the tower were suddenly broken from which a large axe entered the tower, heading toward Shirahoshi rapidly. Though before it could reach her, Alex appeared in front of it and punched it while using his shockwave power causing the axe to break down into tiny pieces much to Shirahoshi's astonishment.

"You broke it with a single punch……You are so cool, Alex-sama." Shirahoshi began to clap once again in excitement. "That guy keeps sending these things toward me ever since I rejected him….." She mumbled with a hateful expression, surprising Alex as he didn't think that she could make such an expression.

"It seems that I need to go and have a small talk with him, Princess," Alex spoke with a small smile and then he created a spatial door in front of him. "I'll come back after some time." Saying that he entered the spatial door while waving at her.

"Okay…." She waved back with an unhappy expression as she was all alone once again. "How much time do you think he'll take to come back, Megalo?"

Alex came out of the spatial door and appeared on an old ship. Since he appeared above the ship, he was able to see the pirates who were on the ship which included that guy.

He threw multiple lightning bolts at everyone except for the captain of the ship, killing them instantly. He then flew down and activated his Shockwave power and began to attack the captain who was known as Vander Decken IX.

"Bitch, I was talking with her peacefully yet you decided to disturb that peaceful moment by sending that Axe!!" Alex spoke in an irritated tone and continued to punch him while covering his hands in shockwave power.

After punching him for some more time, he finally stopped as there was nothing left of that guy. The shockwave destroyed the entire body and now, the entire ship was covered in blood and tiny meat pieces.

He ignored the system notification instead he created another spatial door to meet the other guy that he wanted to get rid of.
