Chapter 58: Chapter 57. Mermaid Cafe

"Even though the World Government considers you as one of their allied kingdoms, tell me, did it ever benefit you?" Alex asked with a calm expression. "The funny thing is that those World Nobles like to buy your people so they could torture them for some entertainment."

"We never benefited from the alliance even though we are paying the heavenly tribute every year." King Neptune replied with a look of disappointment. "My people are constantly captured by those slave traders. I believe that getting under the protection of Whitebeard was more beneficial to my Kingdom."

"Since you know this, how about getting under me as one of my territories? I can use my power to take this entire island to the sky where no one would be able to catch your people." Alex explained his proposal to him. "Even if someday my Warlord title gets revoked, you still wouldn't have to worry since no one can find us unless I allow them to."

"Hmmmmm…." King Neptune began to think about the cons and pros of the proposal that he just heard. It wasn't a bad deal especially for them however if one day, the World Government started to actively hunt down Alex, it would be quite bad for his kingdom as well.

Alex gave him some time to think about the proposal while he began to glance around the throne room curiously. He even saw a portrait of the late queen on the wall.

"I will accept the proposal, Warlord Alex." After some time, King Neptune finally replied with a serious expression. "Even though it might create some problems for us in the beginning however it is still better than becoming slaves of those crazy Celestial dragons."

"A good decision, King Neptune." Alex nodded at him with a small smile. "Though you will have to wait for some time before I can move your entire kingdom. There are certain things that I need to do and accomplish before I can take your kingdom as my territory."

Since they were done discussing the important thing, they both then began to talk with each other about miscellaneous things about Fish-men Island and the outside world.

Though their conversation was soon interrupted by someone who began to knock on the door. Alex used his Observation Haki and found out that this guy was the same person that he had sent to the Ryugu Kingdom market earlier.

"I'll be taking my leave, King Neptune. I need to visit the Mermaid Cafe along with Shirahoshi." Alex stood up from the chair and spoke with a small smile.

"Take care of her. She is still very naive and doesn't know how the outside world works." King Neptune said with a worried expression because his daughter was going out of the palace after so many years.

"Don't worry about her." Saying that Alex walked toward the entrance door and got out of the throne room. "Did you bring what I had ordered you?" Alex asked calmly, gazing at the royal guard who nodded and then handed him a small bag.

"Good work." Alex took out some gold coins from his system storage and gave them to him. With the bag in his hands, Alex walked out of the palace and headed toward the tower where she was waiting for him.

After flying at a very fast speed, he reached the tower and entered it, only to see her running around the tower excitedly. "What made you so excited, Shirahoshi?" He curiously asked while walking toward her.

"Alex-sama, you are finally here." She spoke excitedly and ran toward him. "After you left me here, all of a sudden, I began to hear a lot of voices. I don't know who they belong to but they are quite funny."

"What…..?" Alex looked at her with a surprised expression. "You awakened Observation Haki so easily?" Saying that he too used his Observation Haki and began to expand it to find the source whose voice she was hearing.

Though he couldn't find the owner of those voices however he did sense multiple Sea animals which led him to believe that she awakened her other powers as well.

"Observation Haki? What's that, Alex-sama?" She asked with a curious expression. Though her attention instantly shifted to the bag that he was carrying. "What is inside the bag, Alex-sama?"

"I have brought clothes for you." He replied and walked toward the sofa. He then opened the bag and began to put the clothes on the sofa separately. "Here, choose what you want to wear because after that we'll go to the market of the kingdom."

Shirahoshi nodded with a serious expression and began to look at the clothes. "I liked this shirt, Alex-sama, I don't want to give it back to you." She suddenly spoke and then picked up black shorts to wear under her black shirt.

"I won't ask you to return it then," Alex said with an amused chuckle and then turned around so she could wear shorts.

Coral Hill is a port town on Fish-Men island where the famous Mermaid Cafe was present. The employees of this cafe lived in the same dormitory Mermaid Cove, a place where the mermaids usually gather for meetings.

Right now, both Alex and Shirahoshi were walking toward the cafe while talking among themselves. Though Shirahoshi's attention most of the time was on her surroundings and the people who were walking there.

Most of the Fish-man and mermaids were confused by her strange behaviour however when they learnt that this was their fabled princess, they all bowed down and began to greet her happily.

They both entered the cafe and were greeted by a young mermaid who welcomed them with a smile before taking both of them to an empty table. "What would you like to order?"

"Hmmm, bring us everything that you serve." Before Shirahoshi could even speak, Alex ordered the waitress a small smile. The waitress nodded and then headed toward the kitchen. "By the way, can you please send Camie here if she is free? Tell her that Alex has come to meet her."
