Queen Carolina was stunned for a moment, but regained her wits quickly.

"I see," she murmured. "No wonder we all thought that it was blank." She turned to Mana and Raven. "Are you sure that this would be helpful?"

Mana and Raven nodded at the same time.

"We found the details of a magical device that we could build, and we would not need any element of necromancy for it, either," Mana informed Queen Carolina. "We have made some notes, but we would like to come back to this imperial library again and continue working on it. May we?"

Queen Carolina blinked, her blue eyes filled with confusion. "Of course, child. You have unrestricted access to the imperial library of the Sapphire Kingdom – you can come and go as you please. There is no need to seek permission from me or my daughter at any time," she said.

Mana smiled happily. "Thank you, Aunt Carolina!" she said. "We'll just put the book back for now, and then we will come back again after we eat. We didn't want to take the book out because it is an important heirloom of the Sapphire Kingdom, and we didn't want Big Sister Bella to be criticised for allowing us to take it out of the imperial library of the Sapphire Kingdom."

Queen Carolina smiled at Mana. "What a thoughtful child you are," she murmured. "Thank you, then, little Mana."

Mana felt a bit bad for a moment, because whatever she was saying right now was to lay a trap for any potential spies of the enemy side that may be around and eavesdropping on them. She glanced at Big Sister Bella, who simply smiled back in response, reassuring her.

Mana let go of her slight guilt immediately. Big Sister Bella would explain the facts to Queen Carolina later, she realised, so there was no need for her to worry about these things.

Azar and Alya took the chance to nuzzle King Jaren's face and declare at the same time, "Grandpapa, hungry!"

King Jaren chuckled. "We can come back to the imperial library after we eat," he said. "We shouldn't keep our little ones waiting any more, should we?"

No one denied that. Raven quickly put the fake book on the shelf where he had taken the original from, and the group went off together to eat.

As was the norm with royal meals, this one was delicious, too, and everyone was in a good mood, thanks to Raven and Mana finding a solution for the situation with Queen Dora.

"What things do you need to build this magical device?" Queen Carolina asked curiously.

The group was sitting in a private room with all sorts of barriers around it, so there was no chance of anyone overhearing anything now.

"We are still making a list," Raven said. "We should be able to get hold of most things by ourselves, but there are some which may be a bit troublesome. Once we have made the list, we will discuss with all of you."

"Of course," Queen Carolina said. "Anything that you need from the Sapphire Kingdom is yours. You just have to name it."

"Thank you, Carolina," King Jaren said gratefully.

"There's no need to thank me," Queen Carolina said. "After all, we are family now, and this is the least that I can do for my family."

"That's very kind of you, Mother," Jules said quietly. "Nonetheless, we are very grateful for your offer."

Queen Carolina opened her mouth to argue but she was interrupted by Azar and Alya suddenly jumping on to the table.

"We have to go to our island!" Alya said excitedly. It was rare for her to speak up before Azar did – but it looked like the little white dragon was picking up all the habits from the little black one now.

"Mommy, Daddy! We have to go now!" Azar said eagerly, his green eyes glowing like emeralds under the sunlight.

Mana raised an eyebrow. Seeing the little ones so excited, it was probably another grand gift from their Elf Buddy, she thought.

She was proved right in the next moment when Azar declared, "Big, big, big gift from Elf Buddy!"

Mana and Raven exchanged a glance, no less excited that the two little dragons, but better composed than them.

"We may as well go," King Jaren murmured. The amount of goodwill he had developed for this Elf Buddy of the two little dragons was not insignificant. In King Jaren's mind – any one who was so good to his children and his grandchildren deserved to be praised. And if Elf Buddy ever came over to the Emerald Kingdom, he would treat them with all the courtesy shown to the highest ranked imperial guest of the Emerald Kingdom, and he would even gift them a nice, picturesque villa within the compounds of the imperial palace, so that Azar and Alya wouldn't have to fly too far to visit their precious Elf Buddy. With all these plans in his head, King Jaren was actually looking forward to the day when Elf Buddy actually visited them. Wouldn't that be really cool?

Raven nodded and turned to Mana. "Can we take Father Aqi and Rook as well?" he asked in a quiet whisper so that no one other than Mana would be able to hear him.

Mana blinked. "Of course they can," she said. "They are our people, aren't they?"

Raven beamed at her. "Let's get the propulsion machine out, then," he said.

Mana chuckled and patted his arm. "Yes, dear," she said playfully.

Raven was too excited to be embarrassed.

The entire group – King Jaren, Queen Caroline, General Aquila, Jules, Bella, Rook, Raven, Mana, Azar and Alya – were soon piled into the magically expanded propulsion machine and set off to visit the island that belonged to little Azar and Alya.

This time, the two little dragons were much too excited to let anyone linger around the island or to take in the sheer natural beauty of the island at all. They practically dragged everyone to the clearing that had become rather familiar to the royal family of the Emerald Kingdom by now – especially Mana and Raven.

A huge, gleaming golden thing lay in the middle of the clearing, shining almost blindingly bright.

"Big, big shiny!" Azar said happily, flying rapidly towards the object, with Alya at his heels.

The two little dragons flew excitedly around the large gold object.

"What is that thing?" Bella asked curiously. "It looks like it is made of gold."

Mana, on the other hand, was frozen in shock. Could this be the legendary golden gachapon machine?! She had heard about this from her friends in her previous life, but she had never seen one herself – and given that it had come from Azar and Alya's Elf Buddy – it couldn't be a simple gachapon machine that would give out capsule toys would it?

"It looks like a gachapon machine," Mana murmured. "But I am not sure of the function of this one…" Her voice was really soft, and only Raven, who was standing close to her, was able to hear her.

Raven took her hand. "Let's go and check it out, then," he said, leading her to the golden machine in the clearing.

It really was rather bright, Raven had to admit, and it really did look like it was made of solid gold.

"What is a gachapon machine?" Raven asked Mana in a whisper. "How does it work?"

Mana blinked, snapping out of her daze. "Ah, sorry," she said sheepishly. "I was a little out of it. What did you want to know?"

Raven's eyes filled with concern. "Are you all right?" he asked worriedly. "Are you feeling uncomfortable anywhere?"

Mana smiled and nodded. "I was just wondering if this was the legendary golden gachapon machine," she murmured. "You see, in normal gachapon machines, you put in a coin or a token and then you get something in return – a toy or something. But while I've never seen them before, I heard that there were golden gachapon machines which had jackpot like prizes for every turn, and these would all be valuable things, not the little toys that one usually gets. Since this one has been sent by Azar and Alya's Elf Buddy – it should be a magical golden gachapon machine – and I was wondering what kind of things would come out of it…"

Raven's eyes glowed with interest. He looked up at Azar and Alya, who were still flying around excitedly above the golden gachapon machine.

"Azar, Alya – how does this golden gachapon machine work?" he asked.

Azar and Alya stopped flying and settled on top of the humongous golden machine that towered majestically in front of them.

"It is very easy, Daddy," Azar said with a big smile on his cute little face. "You have to take a magic token, and you have to write down what you want on it, and then you have to put it in that slot there.." He pointed at a slot on the right side of the machine. "And then, bam!"
